im 32 wks now with my second child and felt like ive been slowing down for ages. This morning i went into town for a few hours whilst lo was at pre-school to do some xmas shopping and couldnt belive how hard i found it walking around the shops.MY back was killing me-my stomach muscles were tightening-not to mention i had extreme shopping rage for anyone getting in my way

Things seem to be getting difficult for me now already at 28 + 3 and I feel horrible from about 4pm on. Sleeping is the worst. Or rather, finding a comfy position to sleep in.

this week - week 29 - everything is getting painful and difficult....

LoveAngelGabriel · 22/11/2007 16:49

I started struggling at about 30 weeks. I was getting huge by that stage and found walking quite painful.

Now! I'm about 31 weeks and have seriously had enough . Also my 2nd, and like lots of other people felt ok until the end first time around (well, felt ok until about 40+4, then got very grumpy until I was induced at 42!!)....thanks everyone for making me feel less of a lightweight for finding this one so much more challenging...

for me it was about 33 weeks when my legs and back started to hurt me and walking became a pain. I am now a mommy and i have lost 2 stone and feel sooooooooo much better xx

First time round, worked up to 36wks, had virtually no side-effects and went out on long walks every day until I gave birth.

This time round: exhaustion, vomiting, sore knees, insomnia (first trimester), up and down to the loo twice a night, more insomnia, piles, leg cramps, couple of baby varicose veins, sniffly nose at night (second trimester), and more of the same + exhaustion, and the feeling that my ladybits are down round my knees after half an hour walking, plus achy and painful tummy if I attempt too much lifting (or even mopping the floor).

Don't feel (at 34 wks) like I could be at work; can barely face going to the shops.

But then you hear of some poor souls who have real problems - requiring hospitalisation, more scans etc etc. and you think, could be worse (just roll on D-day).

Glad to hear I'm not alone - was beginning to think I was a wimp.

It is so reassuring to read your messages and find other people have similar experience where first pregnancy was a bit of a breeze and second time round so much harder. I wasn't prepared for it to be so different. I am only 28 weeks (my second pregnancy) and already feel way more awkward and uncomfortable than I did the first time. And I've got more than two months to go: yikes!

biglips · 22/11/2007 22:53

i was literally knackered from 36 weeks...managed to carry on working till 38 weeks. It was a struggle!
