Anyone else? Inconclusive scan...?!

Hi everyone, I was wondering if anyone could possibly have any advice about the above? I had two miscarriages before I had my little boy who's now 5 then a miscarriage last august... just found out I'm pregnant on the 12th April Brain was on over drive so booked an early scan (wish I didn't now) thought I was 6 +1 but turns out I'm possibly a week out ..... gestation sac present and yolk sac present furthest I've got since my pregnancy with my son ....!

The guy was happy with the scan and everything looked healthy but now I'm freaking out there's no embryo and nothing growing.... done another test today and it's positive 3+ but my heads doing overdrive .... has anyone had an inconclusive scan and all been ok in future scans?! ....... thank you !

Hey everyone so I had my scan this morning, ultrasound and transvaginal... All she could see was the sac, no yolk sac or fetal pole although she said there was some echogenic material. I'm measuring 6 + 2 ( I thought I was 7) by the area of the sac. I really thought even at that GA they'd see something internally. I'm absolutely devastated. Re scan in 2 weeks and I can't bare the wait! Doesn't look hopeful though.

Think positive I've seen a lot of threads about this kind of problem and has ended up with good results. It might just be because your still early in pregnancy Hun.

@Hxoxox keep positive hun, every pregnancy is different and every body is different no pregnancy is ever the same ... you could be a week behind? X

Thanks ladies just got to try and remain positive. I don't think I can be further behind as she said the sac was measuring 6 . 2. There was a tiny little blob shape when she done the internal but she didn't seem too enthusiastic just said it was material. It could be dead tissue? It could be anything!? Hoping there's a bean hiding away I just feel like after a horrendous few years this had fell at the right time for me and my partner we've both been through bad times before we met each other and we were so excited I am just now worried where my mental health will be if it's bad news as I do have a lot of support but I've been really bad in the past.

I might phone the EPU tomorrow and ask for to be soon and get bloods done.

Hi, so I had my scan today. Turns out I'm 5w6d... lovely seeing baby on screen. Baby had a strong heartbeat. Xx

Aww came on here to comment saying this happened to my friend and there ended up being a heartbeat the following week but just saw you have a heartbeat 😊🎉 great news, congratulations!

So I phoned EPU. The lady was extremely nice and booked me in for a scan next Monday. Also to go in for bloods tomorrow and Thursday. The sonographer at early scan from private clinic had my sac measuring 13mm meaning at 6 weeks 2 but midwife from EPU said 13mm isn't 6 weeks 2 which I just googled apparently I'd be 5 weeks 6 days. I'm confused!

I don't understand how there's so many people seeing heartbeats at 5/6 weeks and I can't see anything! 🥺.

Just got to muddle through this week now and see how things go!

Hi Hun, sorry to hear. If I'm honest with you I heard you only hear heartbeat at 6+weeks.. I have another scan booked for 11/5 as I want a second opinion myself. Let me know how you get on x

This is what was seen on the internal. The abdominal was absolutely black but internal showed this. Has anyone come across this before? I keep looking and wondering. The more I think about it the sonographer just wasn't much help.

U can defo see something. What did they say to you

@jade0881 aww that's really clear that sac. She just said there's nothing there to me. Then when I got home she had sent the photos to me and a report. That's when I seen those photos I didn't look at the screen in the clinic as I was so upset but my DP said he could see something very faint. Then we seen that and the report said there was echogenic matter inside but no definite yolk sac.

So with your scan did they not say anything about the sac or tell you how long to leave it to have another scan.? I mean how far did they say you were? X
