Ha ha there's always 1 with an overly dramatic response to a simple question 😂

My experience was that I exclusively breastfed for 7 months and my son was a relentless sucker. Needed my boob for comfort constantly throughout the night. Decided then I'd try a dummy as was weaning to bottle as returning to work. He began to settle easily and sleep so much better without me. The dummy went just before he turned 2 and I was worried it would be a struggle but he adapted almost instantly.

It doesn't matter what anyone else thinks of them when it's your child.

DS would have benefitted massively from them - he had awful reflux and his consultant said to try a dummy as it keeps the body producing saliva and the digestive system going. However, DS had other ideas and flat out refused one and would just spit it out!

Also my son was in NICU then SCBU for 12 days. I exclusively formula fed because I knew I never wanted to even try breastfeeding or expressing, so I didn't. He was tube fed for a few days to start. Obviously I didn't have a dummy as I hate them. Once I walked in to find a nurse had given him one, obviously without consent. I took it straight out, put it in the bin and made it crystal clear that my son was NEVER EVER to be given one again because I'm 100% against them. (It was one of the many things I complained about with regards our treatment so I wasn't too surprised).
So you're against dummies but chose to formula feed with a teat which is made from the same plastic as a dummy... Hmm.

Lazy parenting. Parents with babies can be lazy?! This is new to me.

Your son sucked his thumb which could be classed as you being lazy not pulling his thumb out but you chose to allow him to do it because it brought him comfort... same as a dummy.

You contradict yourself a lot with your rose tinted glasses on. Little miss Judge Judy with no high ground to stand on.

My baby never ever liked one and still doesn't to this day (15 months). Wouldn't have stopped him if he had enjoyed a dummy.

Yes, as I wouldn't have baby use my nipples to help her sleep. Shes 22 months now and only has her dummy in her cot, I don't let her wander about with it. When she was a newborn she only had it when she needed to sleep x
