Why wouldn’t you?

Touloser · 28/03/2021 13:56

Why do you think you couldn't?

dementedpixie · 28/03/2021 13:57

What damage do you think it might do?

DramaAlpaca · 28/03/2021 13:57

I can't see any reason why not.

Dhano21 · 28/03/2021 13:57

i've read online somewhere that raspberry can cause you to go into early labour and I am just freaking out about everything so I thought it was better to check with you guys

Sorry, on what grounds do you think you wouldn’t be able to? What an odd question. Are you feeling ok?

Pinktruffle · 28/03/2021 14:00

@Dhano21 that's raspberry leaf tea not raspberries. Two totally different things.

Ahbahbahbah · 28/03/2021 14:00

Raspberry leaf tea can trigger Labour, much later on in pregnancy. There’s no reason not to have raspberries.

Always check the nhs website, that’s the best place for confirmation on anything you’re worrying about!

Aroundtheworldin80moves · 28/03/2021 14:01

Do you mean Raspberry Leaf Tea, which some use to help prepare for labour?

Raspberries themselves are fine

SmidgenofaPigeon · 28/03/2021 14:01

If it was a simple case of drinking a sugary raspberry beverage I guess abortions would be pretty straightforward.

thedevilinablackdress · 28/03/2021 14:02

Raspberry leaf tea is a traditional remedy to bring on labour if you're overdue. Raspberry fruit is fine.

Chelyanne · 28/03/2021 14:12

You're thinking of raspberry leaf tea, not that it does start labor anyway.

Raspberries are fine, raspberry flavoured stuff also fine.

ChlamydiaSexPond · 28/03/2021 14:14

OP - I mean this gently, but you need to calm down my lovely.

Dhano21 · 28/03/2021 14:16

thank you all for answering my question.

i'm just scared about everything i eat and drink

SmidgenofaPigeon · 28/03/2021 14:21

@Dhano21 why?

Is your midwife aware of your extreme anxiety?

ChristinaYang10 · 28/03/2021 14:24

I advise just using the NHS website for info on what foods and drinks to avoid. Other sites can list huge numbers of foods with very little/no evidence they actually cause any issues, plus if the sites are foreign they may have different standards eg I think in America eggs need to be fully cooked, but that’s not the case here if lion stamped.

TheLovleyChebbyMcGee · 28/03/2021 14:28

You should check out the NHS website, it lists the things you can't have. There really aren't many things you should avoid!!

It might also be a good idea to speak to your midwife about your anxiety if its at this level all the time

You're going to be in for a very long pregnancy if you don't try to get on top of this worry and anxiety unfortunately. As others have said, there are a very small list of foods to avoid on the NHS website but most things are fair game. Try to relax and enjoy your pregnancy OP :)
Wolfiefan · 28/03/2021 14:46

You shouldn’t be scared of everything you eat or drink. Follow the NHS basic guidelines. Talk to your MW if you’re suffering extreme anxiety.

Lulu1919 · 28/03/2021 15:42

Thinks that's raspberry leaf ..in third trimester
Not actual raspberries

FruitLoopzz · 28/03/2021 17:39

I understand your anxiety OP, it’s like pineapple which is supposed to encourage labour and I’d be nervous to eat it in pregnancy. I think some people reply to pregnant women’s anxieties in an unkind tone.

elenacampana · 28/03/2021 17:50

I’m in the first trimester too OP and totally get it! I asked about tartar sauce in a takeaway sandwich today and even when I was told it was pasteurised and lion stamped, I still didn’t feel like I could have it.

You’re totally normal to feel on edge about it and you’re just trying to get it right. I agree about using the NHS pages on foods during pregnancy. All the best to you Daffodil

SmidgenofaPigeon · 28/03/2021 18:08

@elenacampana and did you not think that was...well, bonkers?
