@FruitLoopzz

I understand your anxiety OP, it’s like pineapple which is supposed to encourage labour and I’d be nervous to eat it in pregnancy. I think some people reply to pregnant women’s anxieties in an unkind tone.
You would need to eat loads of pineapples (something like 8) to have any effect so it's perfectly safe to eat a normal amount during pregnancy

This link is the nhs guidance on what you can have and what to avoid. It’s really informative and should put your mind at rest.

And even some of the foods on the avoid list can be eaten if cooked e.g. mould ripened or blue cheese, cured meats, etc

I eat pineapple a few times a week, and yes I have read that it can cause premature labour...in vast vast quantities that most people wouldn’t want to nor be physically capable of eating.

I do think it’s important to retain the ability to process facts and information sensibly and not just scaremonger ourselves because we read some ‘study’ somewhere on the internet about something or heard an old wive’s tale, when we’re pregnant. Surely the first trimester can make us anxious enough without losing our heads about tartare sauce and fruit.

Agreed on the savage comments! What happened to be kind. If you're reading this thread you most likely have had some sort of worry in pregnancy so give this lady a break. 1st trimester is a really worrying time esp if it's your first pregnancy or you've had miscarriages before.
Have a little research like the others said on the nhs website op and that should make you feel better. I always go to that as I know it's legit. Don't be on your own with the worry though there's so many others that will be feeling the same including me! Feel free to private message me. X

It's fine OP. Nothing starts labour even when you're ready and trying to get it going!!

ILoveBountys · 28/03/2021 21:42

Thank goodness there's some normal, nice people on this thread - listen to them OP.
It's perfectly OK to have anxiety if it's your first time, it's all new and you've miscarried. There's support and advice here for you.
Don't be afraid to come on here and ask for it. You soon work out who the regular trolls are - one in particular here who's always piping up on posts with nothing nice or useful to say - and you just filter them out.

Congratulations on your pregnancy xx

It's ok OP I tried drinking an alcohol free beer when pregnant and just couldn't do it , it was the taste, even though I knew it was no different to a soft drink my brain seemed to think it was alcohol. I agree with others the NHS website is clear and up to date, ignore other things you read
