@HKN1 I’m so sorry for your losses, they’re heartbreaking.
I’m 38 and suffered 4 miscarriages in the past 12 months. Similarly to you I had no issue getting pregnant, but could make it stick.
After mc number 3 I was referred by my GP to a fertility specialist where I had lots of blood tests for various things. One set on day 3 of my cycle then another on day 21 where they tested my progesterone levels. All tests came back great, no issues at all.
I had a scan of my womb and ovaries, again all great with good follicle count etc.
My partner was sent for a semen analysis and again all was perfect. So no reason given for our losses.
I started reading lots about a low dose of aspirin although didn’t start taking it because like you I was wary without a doctors say so.
I fell pregnant for the 4th time and while thinking about what to do regarding the aspirin I miscarried again at 6 weeks.
I vowed to myself I would start aspirin next time regardless of speaking with a doctor etc because at this point I had nothing to lose and was willing to try anything.
The next cycle I started myself on 150mg aspirin from 1dpo. Amazingly at 8dpo I got a positive test and the tests were dark from the get go, everything felt differently and progressed great.
I was sent for a scan with EPU due to my previous losses and amazingly at 5+4 saw a heartbeat flickering away!
I was also then prescribed progesterone pessaries from that appointment even though my progesterone levels had been great, I was told they won’t do any harm but could be the boost I need.
I then saw my midwife at booking appointment where I told her about the aspirin I was taking, she was more than happy for me to continue it, she spoke to a consultant who confirmed that that is the new nhs recommended dose and that it’s been proven to help many pregnancies and that even if I didn’t need it, it would do no harm so to continue taking it until I’m into third trimester.
I’ve since had several private reassurance scans and am now currently 14+3.
I will never know conclusively what helped, but I fully credit the aspirin as it’s the only thing I did differently!
Good luck xx
