Was it just nausea? Or being sick a lot? Did it go away by 12 weeks?
Probably going to scare myself silly but just wondering..

I just had nausea, all day nausea from week 6 until week 13.

Couldn't eat hot meals or have any kind of drink that was more than tepid.

Ginger didn't help, bands didn't help, ginger tea was a no go, mints slightly helped.

Did the nausea just go away on it's own at 13 weeks?

I had morning day and night sickness for the whole of the pregnancy, I couldn’t even keep water down. I was two stone lighter at the end, it was truly horrendous but I have a beautiful son. He is 14 now

carnations23 · 12/03/2021 15:34

@lostandconfused88

yeh , completely gone , I'm now 23 weeks and just want to constantly eat 🙈

Not gonna lie, it was no fun at all, my husband had to do all the cooking as well because I couldn't stomach a lot of smells.

That's good - did you not vomit at all then, just nausea?

OP posts:
Garman · 12/03/2021 15:36

No vomiting, just constant unrelenting nausea from 5 weeks until birth, with heartburn added in from about 20 weeks onwards.

sunnydaleslayer · 12/03/2021 15:37

Pregnancy 1 - constant nausea from 6 to 14 weeks. Vomited once or twice

Pregnancy 2 - vomited about 10 times between 6 and 14 weeks but didn't feel the nausea as much

Pregnancy 4 - constant nausea. No vomiting but was absolutely exhausted all the time. Gone by 14 weeks again

So each time round it was gone by 14 weeks?

Puked constantly from 5-13 weeks, was on drugs. Then puked once a day from then until the day before I went into labor.

DS2 was a weird one that I felt sick but didn't barf much, except had serious aversions to random things like Tupperware and certain stairs at my office. I craved everything beige with him!

FoxtrotOscarPoppet · 12/03/2021 15:45

DD1 - nausea from 6 weeks through til 16 weeks. It was bearable.

DD2 - horrendous nausea and sickness 24/7 from 6 weeks through til 24 weeks. Took anti-sickness tabs prescribed by the GP. They turned me into an utter zombie and knocked me out for most of the day.

elliejjtiny · 12/03/2021 15:50

dc1 - vomiting 15-20 times a day from week 7 to week 20 (lost 3 stone)
dc2 - vomiting 3-5 times a day from week 7 to week 30
dc3 - vomiting 5-10 times a day from week 7 to waters breaking
dc4 - same as dc3
dc5 - vomiting 5-7 times a day from week 7 to a week after birth

Chanel05 · 12/03/2021 15:52

I was only physically sick three times but I was nauseous all day, every day between 6 weeks and 16+2 when it disappeared. If I woke up in the night I'd feel instantly sick and it impacted my working day. Not what you wanted to hear but that was my reality!

Stilllivinginazoo · 12/03/2021 15:54

Are you scared of being sick?
I had 4 DC
1 nothing
2 nausea a week(11-12)
3 nausea 8-12 and hated smell a lot of stuff.couldnt eat hot food but toast
4nausea 6-12 as above.i felt rough but worse if didn't eat.ginger oatcakes and marmite toast plus a banana helped me,as did rich t if woke in night)before I moved in the morning

Floralnomad · 12/03/2021 15:56

Child 1 : sick from week one to the birth , vomited at least 5/8 times a day and could only eat jacket potato with butter or cheesy wotsits . I also fainted a lot .
Child 2 : hg from week 2 -week 16 , numerous hospital admissions , then stopped vomiting until about 28 weeks when it started again in a more manageable fashion . I had an ELCS and even vomited throughout that .
I’m not good at being pregnant apparently.

BirthChoice · 12/03/2021 15:56

Those of us who were super sick will always be drawn to these threads so they are never representative of normal pregnancies.
I was very sick in my first pregnancy and in and out of hospital until we found the right drugs to get everything under control which was by about 16 weeks.
Pregnant again and I’m currently 10 weeks which was the worst week with pregnancy number 1. I’ve been medicated since the start with this one and it’s been 1000% times better. I’ve definitely felt nauseous and had to take it easy but haven’t been sick once.
Most other parents I meet are gobsmacked at how ill I was in my first pregnancy so don’t let this thread worry you, it’s not normal to be sick 20 times a day!

PomegranateQueen · 12/03/2021 16:30

Very sick with DS1, I was signed off work and lost 2 stone, struggled to keep water down. Medication made it manageable.

PG2 mildly sick until a few days before MC

DS2 I think I felt nauseous for the whole of 5 minutes Grin I was terrified I was going to MC again because my symptoms were pretty much non existant.

Most women I know only have very mild sickness, if any, like BirthChoice says those of us with experience of severe sickness are drawn to threads like this.

weegiemum · 12/03/2021 16:36

Pg1 - nauseous from before I got bfp, and threw up every day from 4 to 16 weeks. (Girl)

Pg2 - nauseous for weeks but only threw up once. (Boy)

Pg3 - tbh I was so focussed on the much more severe other side effects (I had a rare kidney problem) that I couldn't tell you about morning sickness. I was throwing up in pain anyway. (Girl)

Val2021 · 12/03/2021 16:43

Constant nausea and sick once a day from 7-19 weeks!

Freshprincess · 12/03/2021 16:44

morning, noon and night sickness for me, though thankfully never actually vomited.

I lost weight in the first 2 months because I felt so sick all the time. But It definitely got better after a while.

Any strong smells, cooked food, perfume, cleaning stuff would set me off. I was really forcing myself to eat.

Tots0611 · 12/03/2021 16:48

DC1: Vomited every morning when I got up but then felt ok rest of day, little bit of nausea. Some food aversions.
Dc2: Morning nausea but think I was only sick a few times.
Current pregnancy (9 weeks): sensitive to smell since week 4 and nausea since 7 weeks but much worse in afternoon and evening. Haven't been sick, some days worse than others. Struggling with food aversion, smells and doing food shop (online or in store!).

Aquamarine1029 · 12/03/2021 16:48

I never had any nausea or vomiting with either of my pregnancies. Every woman and every pregnancy can be different.

LifesLittleDeciders · 12/03/2021 16:50

I had absolutely nothing. Boobs were rock solid and sore for about two weeks when I was about 14 weeks but other than that, no sickness, nothing at all I felt better than ever 😂

Edelweiss2020 · 12/03/2021 16:50

Only mild nausea for me, except for vomiting once at 14 weeks. The exhaustion was what hit me the hardest until about 15 weeks
