Changing bags

I'm just over 20weeks. And it's occurred to me I've not thought past day to day stuff for Labour/delivery/baby! So I was wondering:

Any recommendations on change bags ladies?!

This is #3 for me and I've had both ends of the spectrum in the past....

#1 bag was teeny and not much use at all (but we managed!)

#2 was a yummy mummy (yes, I was sucked into the marketing and I have to say: loved it!)

Is there any you ladies would recommend? Or that you've bought already? Or even any you'd avoid?!

TIA xxxx

I bought the bababing mani changing bag as my main everyday bag and a smaller jujube hobobe from eBay as a spare that my mum, MIL can use. Really love that backpack styles are in at the moment as the messenger ones were really popular when I was last pregnant!

I bought a nova harley bag they I used for dd and ds. It looks like a normal womens handbag, comes in a range of colours and designs. The inside is wipe able and has several compartments. I used a bag I got when joined the boots baby club to take with me whilst out on walks as it was so lightweight. The nova harley bag was better for when I was visiting people or going out shopping.

I used the silver cross bag that matched the pram. It actually wasn't very practical because it was quite awkward to get things in and out of it. But I wanted the one that matched the pram. We had all the matching accessories (seat liner, changing bag, parasol) because to me it looks nicest and I wanted it all to match.
But I'd say any bag that is easy to get things in and out of would be fine.

I've just fallen in love with this. Found it for £50 something on another website xx

I have a joules backpack that made a great changing bag and am still using it for days out etc.

Get a paca pod. I had that with my first loved it. The second I went top end and reallybwish I hadn't, I got a tiba and Marl rucksack their letter one, looks bang on trend but just not enough space and iv returned 2 for the straps coking apart. I still go back to my old pacapod when I need it.

DobbyTheHouseElk · 03/03/2021 17:35

I’d use a rucksack. Much more practical. I used to struggle to pick up DC and the nappy bag and not be bowled over by the weight of the nappy bag.

I've bought a Dikaslon backpack changing bag. Fits 3 mam bottles in the front, has plenty of room for nappies/wipes/clothes, a little clip on dummp holder and a great little fold out changing mat too. Dark grey so hubby will not mind carrying it either, but then we had a bright pink cross body one with our twins and he carried that with pride lol.

Chelyanne · 03/03/2021 17:48

Got it from amazon a little over £30

NOT one that only closes with a flap over & velcro. I had a Silver X that was a nuisance!

I got one of these, great size, comes with a changing mat and has insulated pockets. Lovely UK family company too. Edith & George Baby Changing Bag Rucksack. Travel Backpack with Nappy Changing Mat. www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07HWNXFS7?tag=mumsnetforu03-21

I loved two (three kids):
Ju Ju Be
Pitterpac

The first is practical, lots of pockets, wipe clean and not bad to looking.

The Pitterpac was absolutely gorgeous while still having all the pockets, and space needed. It's made of genuine leather and was easy to clean, very practical (more than I'd thought it would be). The shoulder strap was long enough to hang on the pushchair, and the other handle made it perfect to hang on your arm or just carry in the hand. Made it feel like I was carrying a stylish handbag, rather than a mum-bag.

Chocolatehabit · 06/03/2021 19:04

I loved my skip hop one. Loads of space and clips on to the buggy as well as having a long strap that you can take off. It’s really easy to clean as well so still looks brand new after 2 years.
