Hi everyone.

Anyone else 37 weeks? FTM here.

I've been practicing hypnobirthing and affirmations and so far I am calm and telling myself it could be 42 weeks and baby will come when he/she is ready.

However....I can't help also being a bit excited that it could be from now to 5 weeks until we meet baby :)

Hospital bag is all done but I'm doing other baby stuff slowly as I finished work a week ago so left some stuff to set up to keep me entertained!

How are you getting on if you are close to 37 weeks? How are you keeping entertained in lockdown aside from chilling out?

Hey! I'm 37 weeks too! How are you feeling?

I'm permanently exhausted but really excited now. I've convinced myself he's going to be here sooner rather than later for some reason (he's sitting really low and I've had BH for a while), so every little movement gets me on edge. Silly, I know.

I'm having a homebirth so I won't fully relax until the pool is delivered this week! Lots of batch cooking and reading to try and keep me busy.

How are you keeping yourself sane? Do you know what you're having yet? Smile

serialplanner · 20/02/2021 18:36

Aww lovely! When is your estimated due date? Mine is 14th March - which I find cute as Mother's Day but my Irish family would be thrilled with the 17th haha

Yes, it's so funny isn't it anything the body does or an ache you are like...birth is that you?!

Mine is only on the tip of the pelvis 4/5 and I haven't had any leaky boobs or BH so I'm very intrigued.

Energy is okay - sleep broken as expected and the peeing in the night is another level! But like you I'm excited so I feel like I can manage anything for another 3-5 weeks.

I'm normally quite into detail and not a relaxed person - you know I like to have everything little thing sorted but I'm forcing myself to be more relaxed and I think it's working. Saying that I haven't had any scares so not sure of have had anything to test me! Are you trying hypnobirthing? How cool to be at home in your own environment!

I had a scan and midwife this week so with that and errands I have kept entertained. Finished Firefly Lane on Netflix! Washed all its clothes. Next week more house bits and I need to batch cook like you really!

I haven't read as much as I planned as it's near impossible to find a comfortable position to sit and read?

I'm almost 37 weeks, due on 17th 🍀 fed up now, awful SPD and heartburn. I've still got a few bits to organise but I'm otherwise ready! Was meant to have another week at work but was signed off by GP as I was struggling to recover from covid. Feeling much better now though! Hopefully they don't keep us waiting too long ☺️

WhiteHorse92 · 20/02/2021 19:13

I'm 36+3 with my first, due on 17th March, as it gets closer to my due date I'm getting more excited and impatient haha. I've had growth scans because he's measuring rather big but on the one I've just had his belly is more average size so now I have to have another at 38 weeks and see what's happening for if I need to be induced. At my last midwife appointment a couple of days ago she seemed quite surprised at how low down his head is so I am wondering if that means he might decide to come early, which I wouldn't mind to be honest as he moves and kicks a lot and constantly has a hard foot up near my ribcage which hurts!

I've just been spending my time on the sofa, and have a bit of an obsession with cleaning/hoovering/tidying whilst my partner is at work. I've also gotten into baking my own bread whilst on maternity leave so recently I've been making lots of different loaves of bread and buns and things. I haven't practiced hypnobirthing properly but I've watched some videos on how to stay relaxed and think positively and look forward to the birth. Hoping for a water birth with gas and air :)

Ahhh, I'm due on the 14th too! How exciting! If we do have then on the due dates, then we'll have a life time of extra special Mother's Days, haha!

I'm glad it's not just me who hasn't had leaky boobs yet. I keep reading about it and wondering why it isn't happening, but with that said, I suppose it's good to make the most of clean pj tops for a while. Grin BH are definitely not fun, and also apparently quite useless! They just make your bump go hard and there seems to be a lot of pressure like you've got a really full bladder!

The peeing during the night is the worst, totally feel you there. Sometimes I'll be up about 6 times before I even nod off. DH is torn between horror and amusement. Grin

I know what you mean - I think if pregnancy teaches anything, it's that your body is going to do what it likes and there's no way of predicting it. Best bet is to just let it happen and try to enjoy the ride as best we can! Yes, I've been doing hypnobirthing too! It's really empowering isn't it? I know some people think it's a bit woo, but I've found it to be relaxing. Not something I expected because I was never one to be able to even meditate!

It sounds like you've got a good plan for the next few weeks! It's just trying to make a good mix of the practical and the relaxing isn't it? I've been putting off getting the cot up so I've got something useful to do in the next few weeks!

For reading I went on Amazon and bought an absolutely gigantic pillow. It's in a big oblong shape and you can squish it around and use it as a bit of a table and a back rest! Although I've heard good things about audio books - did give them a try a few weeks ago and they're not too bad?

Oh bless you! Yes, working at the end is tough even if it is remote. Sorry to hear you have been struggling to recover. Glad you can rest now.

SPD is the worseeeeee. I've heard it disappears for some people at the very end? No such luck so far if anything it is worse with the baby down there a bit.

Oh another 17th March :)

That's good they are keeping a close eye.

Baking bread is a good idea. Good for keeping upright, forward and open!

@FolkyFoxFace due date twins!

Hypnobirthing was a complete eyeroll for me until I did the positive birthing company course. I was very much hospital plus epidural now I'm starting with water birth and birth centre and see where we go. The science is really helpful and it helps that DH has really watched it properly with me etc.

Audio books are good for naps🤣 I don't last long!

Something I had last week which has now disappeared was being tearful. Like a scene in a film would make me cry and it wouldn't normally. Every week there is something new...roll on the end of pregnancy!

Hi @serialplanner I’m due 14th as well. We’re expecting a boy, DC4 (my 3rd baby)

Had a scan yesterday as MW has been convinced for weeks he’s breech. Went in and they had another check, before my scan she said “if that’s not his head I’ll eat my arm....... oh, it’s his bum” 😂

I’m under the physio at my hospital for SPD/PGP type symptoms but they think it’s just due to baby being so heavy so trying everything now to coax him out now I’m not heading for an ELCS.

Hope all of you are feeling ok and trying to get rest when you can x

Another 14th :) I feel like I recognise your name for a TTC thread but I could be making that up with my baby brain!

Ah what sort of things are you trying to get the little one out?

iPhonie · 20/02/2021 20:24

I’m due my third on 20th March. Hit 36 weeks today & I’m taking 3 raspberry leaf tablets, eating 6 dates & pumping colostrum 🤣 so ready for him.

I was overdue with both my sons so I reckon I’ll go overdue again unfortunately Sad

dinosaur17 · 20/02/2021 20:38

Ooh @iPhonie I’ve not heard the dates one??

@serialplanner Oh possibly! I had a MMC in Jan last year and then found out we were expecting again in July so was an anxious time!

Finding the walking quite a struggle with my back, but expressing seems to give me constant BH, I only started it last night. I’ve got some raspberry leaf tea. I’m allergic to pineapple so that’s out! Going to try DTD as OH is at work the next few nights! Have you tried anything yet?

Oh aren't The Positive Birth company brilliant?! They make it feel realistic and empowering rather than a kind of hippy dippy thing like I'd expected! When I'd read about it briefly before I was very eye rolly, but I knew I wanted to be at home so thought I may as well give it a go as I didn't have anything to lose. So glad I did! Ooo, the birth centres are supposed to be brilliant - have you been able to have a look around? I'm jealous of the lovely pool you'll get, apparently they're so comfortable. Totally imagining the one I end up with as a paddling pool. Grin

Yes to all the tears! I was watching birthing videos earlier and an absolute mess. DH had to take the laptop off me! I wonder how long after birth it'll take before everything settles down!

My skin is driving me mad at the moment. It's so dry and itchy, especially on my bump. All bloods were fine so I just have to accept I'll be an itchy mess until this is all over. Grin

serialplanner · 20/02/2021 21:29

@dinosaur17 I'm telling myself I won't try anything unless I fancy it but I reckon give me another week and I'll be trying it all lol

@FolkyFoxFace they did a tour on an Instagram live which I thought was super helpful during COVID :)

You would think I work for PBC the affirmations are my screensaver and I have the cards. I also find the Freya app very comforting I timed some made up surges just to see how it works and it seems great that it tells you when to go to hospital.

Yes itching is creeping it but nothing too crazy yet. Fingers crossed! If it intensifies mention it to your midwife. I can't remember what but think it can be a sign of something....as well as just a growing bump :)

Love a birth video! Not been brave enough to watch a c section one. Otherwise all so helpful.

OP posts:
dinosaur17 · 20/02/2021 21:50

Need to finish the last section of PBC but have used the Freya app a few weeks ago when I had some braxton hicks after a fall and it is really useful.

I had a waterbirth with last baby and would 100% recommend to anyone that can have one

Mahdia · 20/02/2021 21:54

Hiya everyone 😊
I'm also 37+ weeks and due on the 10th March!!
I hope everyone is doing great i have pgp/spd and very bad heartburn that seems to kick off in the night don't know why! But other than that I'm so ready to evict bubsy kkkkk I'm absolutely shattered and having a toddler (2in Jan) and older kids (online schooling atm) its no joke!!!
Hope you're all keeping well 😊

serialplanner · 20/02/2021 22:29

@dinosaur17 that's good to hear about a water birth - fingers crossed :)

@Mahdia absolute hats off to you! So much to deal with! No thinking up how to keep busy for you!

When did you give birth with your first two? I know it's not a direct indication for the third birth but any pattern?

OP posts:
Mahdia · 21/02/2021 00:16

@serialplanner I was overdue with them for 2 weeks then got induced with my last one (I had pre-eclampsia only crept in at 41 weeks) so they decided to induce me urgently.Confused I was quite scared but the pessary seemed to work first round.
Hopefully this time it'll be natural Grin

serialplanner · 21/02/2021 07:41

@Mahdia that's great it worked first time.

Good reminder to keep an eye on PC symptoms right until the end. I know all the signs but not sure I ever understand what PC ever is! An infection? Were you really unwell?

I've just made DH get up at 5.45am to go an watch the sunrise locally. Lockdown activities ey! Now to maybe build the crib today!

Hey ladies, I’m currently 38+3 with number 3. I’m so tired and ready for him to come but he doesn’t seem to be getting the right idea. I’ve been getting lots of signs of early labour but it never amounts to anything. My 2nd was 2 days overdue so expecting the same this time 🙄😫

Mahdia · 21/02/2021 14:13

@serialplanner pre-eclampsia is when you have high blood pressure accompanied by protein in urine. Doctors say it can be a life threatening for both the mother and baby. Confused
@KB13 hiya awww hopefully you'll give birth easily and quickly. I remember your name on the due march thread which I'm also in. Grin

orchidsonabudget · 21/02/2021 14:30

Have you done any antenatal courses? My friend said Blossom antenatal are really good

serialplanner · 21/02/2021 16:19

@KB13 ohhh hopefully the signs are the beginning of something!🤞🏽
