3 chemical pregnancies

I'm currently going through my 3rd chemical pregnancy in a row.

We started casually trying for our first baby last August. First chemical was in September. We started trying seriously from December and I had another chemical that cycle. The next cycle I got pregnant once again but am miscarrying right now due to another chemical.

Does anyone have any success stories after 3 chemicals?

From my research, 3 chemicals are unusual and only about 1-10% of women experience recurring miscarriages. I had bloods done 2 months ago and everything came back fine, I have no known issues. Its heartbreaking and frustrating that it keeps happening. I am trying to stay hopeful but it's difficult.

I had 4 in a row last year and lost them all around 4-5 weeks. Currently 9 weeks pregnant :) only thing I can think of is that I upped my vitamin b6 which is said to increase progesterone xx

You are misinformed. Most pregnancies are "chemical" - ie do not become established. It is only known about becasue of early testing, without early testing, you would simply not consider yourself pregnant until much later, after a pregnancy has established.

The way to avoid "chemicals" is simply not to test that early

I've had 3 chemical pregnancies and I never tested early, my period was late each time.

I feel it all @choccrumpet! This thread is almost like a lifeline of hope to me, on my way to a successful pregnancy. I have been experiencing the same thing right now, as you have been going through this in 2021. It has been "easy" to conceive for us, but three missed MC's at early six weeks. We have already done a bunch of tests, all inconclusive. However, I am living in the Netherlands, which is apparently the worst country for anything related to fertility, since they even think that progesterone is the devil and are constantly recommending us to just try. We are now going a different route, with a private clinic and they are well experienced in that field. I really hope that that weight of figuring out "what is wrong with me" is going to be lifted from my shoulders.
This thread is so helpful to me to keep my spirits lifted (though a bit of a strange ending when going to page 4...)🙄. I was wondering how did your story continue and how has it been going for you. I am just hoping for the best.💜

I’m sorry you’re going through this this. I’ve had also had 3 chemical pregnancies since September of this year. It’s heartbreaking… we have to keep trying and stay hopeful. Sending positive wishes!

Hi OP
i just wondered how you are getting on?
I too have had 4 mc 3 chemical pregnancies and 1 mmc at 12 weeks baby stopped developing at about 8 weeks. All tests ‘normal’ so also at a loss as to what to try next 😔 xx

LacedBouquet · 05/08/2023 08:15

Just reading through- would love to know how you’re getting on @choccrumpet

Sorry to hear that @Wishingonastar90 ! I’m just going though my 3rd chemical. Feeling actually better about it this cycle? I have a short luteal phase of 8 days so my little embryos are really not getting a chance to implant properly before I started bleeding. I took the advice above and have booked in for a remote consultation with NOVA Fertility and hopefully they’ll prescribe me progesterone 😊 I may try aspirin too!

Wishingonastar90 · 05/08/2023 19:39

Sorry to hear this @LacedBouquet i hope that you get the progesterone and your time soon comes 🙏🏻 🌈
we are keen to try again this cycle but also anxious at the thought it could happen again without changing things, I am going to take extra preconception vitamins this month and will try the low dose aspirin I think 🙏🏻

Dear @LacedBouquet @Wishingonastar90 @Admingirl90
I am extremely sorry you are going through this. As you can read above, I have been going through repeated losses at around 6weeks pregnancy and in total we have had 5 early miscarriages over the span of 13months. Believe me, I know how you feel. This was certainly the year my life felt so sad and so heavy hearted.
In case this gives you comfort, I am now 40weeks pregnant and am expecting our baby girl in the next coming days. What did we do different? We live in the Netherlands and they basically do nothing when you are having issues with early miscarriages, because well I could get pregnant!:/ I changed my doctor to a doctor in Belgium and long story short, of course they didn't find anything in my partners and my case. All parameters good. However, as a precaution my Doctor gave me some progesterone pills orally post ovulation and once I had a positive pregnancy test progesterone pessaries (that made the difference for me!) 3 times a day up to 9 weeks. We were about to go down the immunulogy route and I found this doctor in London, but this very simply intervention made all the difference to my life. I hope this gives me some hope and I wish you all the best on this journey.💛

just came across this thread as I’m in the same position.

@SarahJaan really pleased things worked out for you. I’d love to hear how others’ journeys developed as well? @choccrumpet ?

@54321nought do you have any references for the stats you quote (50% chance of a conception not being successful?) that would actually make me feel better. The only stats I’ve found so far are Emily oster’s, and she says at 3 weeks a conception has a 70% chance of success.
