Ectopic Pregnancy

Has anyone else been diagnosed with an ectopic pregnancy recently?
I have a one year old DS, conceived second cycle and this pregnancy was conceived in the first cycle of trying. I had spotting seven days after BFP and thought chemical pregnancy. But after going to the doctors Friday (I knew something was up) they sent me for a scan yesterday to confirm. My HCG levels are 59 and I'm back up the hospital tomorrow for more so they can compare. Fingers crossed they come down again and I can have 'expectant management.' I have no symptoms other than bleeding for 2 weeks now.
I'm shocked, scared and confused. If anyone else is going through this then maybe we can support each other 😘

I know it's normal to have ups and downs! How are you today?

Yes they called me back after I left a message this morning and I'm going in tomorrow morning at 9am for repeat bloods and chat with the EPU. Feel better having the bloods a day sooner as the wait to know the next steps is hard! X

@Leo090813 that's good!! Glad they're getting you in!
I'm ok thanks hun, more bloods tomorrow morning, whether I then get discharged or they book me more bloods I'm not sure xx

Good luck with bloods today and hope you get the news you wanted! My app is at 9 and I'm currently the only one in the house with their eyes open!! I'll let you know how it goes xx

How were your bloods? Mine weren't back by the time I had finished with doc so they're gona call me but he examined me and said I'm showing no signs of rupture/internal bleeding so he said it was reassuring. So just waiting on these bloods now x

@Leo090813 they just called, levels down to 9 so I've been discharged! 😊 so relieved but feeling quite emotional about the whole thing now. Happy I can now move on
Good news from your doctor hun! Let me know the results!
It took them 9 attempts to get blood today so I'm glad I don't have to go back 🤦🏻‍♀️ 2 attempts in my foot as well!!

That's great news re bloods and being discharged, not surprised you feel emotional with it all being over but like you said atleast you can move on from it now. I'm looking forward to that moment too. No news on bloods yet, I'll let u know xx

So just had a call from the hospital. Levels down to 5! Meaning I don't have to go back. She also said that due to my levels being so low at the start and falling so quickly it's more likely I had an early loss than an ectopic!? I do remember the sonographer saying she wasn't sure if she could see anything but thought she might. I am not going to know either way I expect now but atleast my levels are low and o can be discharged. Hope you're still doing well and have a nice relaxing weekend ahead of you x

@Leo090813 oh wow amazing news!!! So pleased for you, nice to have that bit of reassurance even if you want know for sure... thanks I'm glad it's over for both of us 😊 let me know how you go TTC xx

Yeah I'm relieved yet confused at all the differing opinions but either way I'm ready to TTC again so going to order More ovulation sticks today and see where my cycles at! I will definitely keep you updated and hope the 3 months goes quickly for you, thanks for the support Daffodil

HereIfYouNeedMe · 04/02/2021 15:53

@Leo090813 I've seen so many use ovulation sticks! So when they tell you you've ovulated, should you have dtd the day before that? 🤔

OP posts:
Leo090813 · 04/02/2021 15:58

This bit still slightly confuses me Grin but I know that when you get a surge (positive opk) then you will ovulate in the next 24 hours. So given that sperm can survive for a few days I try to dtd when I see the line getting darker and then maybe twice on the day I get the positive, don't know if that's the correct science behind it though Grin I buy the cheap 50 in a pack from Amazon rather than the clear blue ones, as it comes with a reader and few test strips and the reader broke after 2 days so it was a waste of money! X

HereIfYouNeedMe · 04/02/2021 17:20

@Leo090813 ah ok!! I'll look in to those as I may be all over the place now with when I ovulate etc xx
