I'm not sure if my waters just broke...

So, slightly embarrassing but I'd just been for a pee, wiped, stood up and as I turned to flush had a small trickle of liquid run down my legs. (it was enough to run quite quickly and hit the floor)

Now I'm pretty sure it's not pee as I'd just emptied and wiped. The liquid was a very very pale yellow though, but no pee smell from what I can tell.

It was quite a small amount so I'm thinking stick a pad in and see if any more comes out over the next hour or so?

What was it like when your waters broke? With my first they were burst for me and it was like a water fall, gush of really warm water that soaked the place.

I'm 32 weeks.

Mine was a full on flood. No mistaking it. If only a trickle could your bladder maybe not fully empty?

TheFoz · 17/12/2020 21:40

You have two sets of waters, it could have been your hind waters. It would be best to get checked out really.

ShirleyPhallus · 17/12/2020 21:43

Ummmmm..... smell it? Waters have a distinctive scent

You can go in and get them tested btw, but yes put a pad in and see how you go

OnNaturesCourse · 17/12/2020 21:45

@BringBiscuits that's how I remember my first with them being burst.

Baby has been bouncing a lot today, and I keep feeling like theres a balloon of water in my bits that he's bouncing on. The sensation happened a few days ago as well but it stopped with rest, and never happened again until today.

I've had nothing else since I cleaned myself up.

There was little to no smell from it. Definitely not a pee smell, but not water either.

Pop and get checked just incase, always better to be safe than sorry

SaveWaterDrinkGin · 17/12/2020 21:46

Mine made a loud pop and then I had a Hollywood movie-style gush. No mistaking it. But it’s not like that for everyone. Call your midwifery team for advice and def whack a pad on just in case.

BringBiscuits · 17/12/2020 21:47

Maybe when you go to bed you might find more comes? I remember mine did. Perhaps the pressure of lying down?

HappyPumpkin81 · 17/12/2020 21:47

Mine was a small trickle like you described. I sat up in bed and a couple of tablespoons of liquid came out and I just knew it wasn't wee. I went to the hospital and they staffed around for a while with pads, then tested with a swab which turned out was positive. I did not leak any more water but was induced 2 days later, I was 39 weeks. It turned out I had an infection but this wasn't discovered until baby was born. I would give your maternity unit a ring and go and get checked even though it's a faff

NotABeliever · 17/12/2020 21:48

If it's stopped, it's not your waters imo

HappyPumpkin81 · 17/12/2020 21:48

Faffed around, not staffed around. Stupid autocorrect!

OnNaturesCourse · 17/12/2020 21:49

@boymum88 unfortunately it's not a case of just popping in, it's getting parents to drive to my house for DC1 and then a hour plus drive to the maternity unit (and potentially back again...)

Pads clean so far. Do waters have a texture or smell to them - anything I can keep a eye out for.

Pop and get checked. My dear friend started Labour at 32 weeks and thought she had a leaky bladder. She didn't it was a slow leak as her waters were going.

Mine could have provided a route to the Atlantic!

OnNaturesCourse · 17/12/2020 21:51

@HappyPumpkin81 that's interesting, did more come out or was it just that tiny amount when you were in bed?

I'm going to give them a call and see what they say

Mrsbclinton · 17/12/2020 21:52

Mine went in a gush and continued on flowing. They had a distinct smell and were kind of pinky.

Give the maternity unit a call & they can confirm it.

BertieBotts · 17/12/2020 21:52

Yes, I think that's the best thing to do. Good luck!

BertieBotts · 17/12/2020 21:53

I know it would be a pain if it turns out to be nothing, but you don't want to have not been checked if it turned out you really needed to be.

OnNaturesCourse · 17/12/2020 21:54

It's just a pain getting our parents here for DC1.

Phillpot12 · 17/12/2020 21:55

Mine was like that just a trickle but it had a golden colour so had to get checked out. Don't remember them ever actually breaking with a gush but must have broken fully at some point!?

boymum88 · 17/12/2020 21:55

Sorry I'm just always on the worrying side of things after having a baby at 28 weeks
Maybe give the hospital a call and see what they advise

Cleverpolly3 · 17/12/2020 21:55

All three of my waters were different: one a tsunami, one two distinct puddles one badly a trickle and they were here five minutes after that .

Glad you’re seeking advice keep us posted

strawbmilk · 17/12/2020 21:56

Give them a call. I had a small trickle. I went in to get tested and the midwife didn't think it was my waters but the test came back positive. Good luck

Desmondo2016 · 17/12/2020 21:56

Unfortunately at 32 weeks they can only advise you to come in. And that's what you must do. There's every chance it's just wee or discharge (this happened to me in 2 out of 4 pregnancies) but just in the very outside off chance it is your waters you really must get it checked out. Let us know

OnNaturesCourse · 17/12/2020 21:57

Basically I've to keep a eye on it. They suspect he could be sitting on my bladder so I didn't fully empty it in the sitting position
