Granted all babies are different but when did you notice your LO slept through the night or just woke for one feed?

3 and he sleeps through most nights finally! Interestingly my four month old also sleeps through a couple of nights a week. It really does vary.

LillyBugg · 09/12/2020 21:29

Ds1 9 months
DS2 2 years.

Are you okay OP? These posts are usually made in the depths of despair about sleep deprivation.

Ineedaweeinpeace · 09/12/2020 21:29

One at 3 months... one well duck me she’s 7 and I’m still hoping!

InTheLongGrass · 09/12/2020 21:30

Just one feed by 9 months.
Sleep through? How are you classifying this? About 4y.
Sleep past 7am?? Still waiting (now at secondary)

BertieBotts · 09/12/2020 21:32

Over 2 for both of them.

DS2 is 2y3m and hasn't ever slept through yet.

I would class sleeping through as being not seeing them from bedtime until they wake up in the morning.

2.5

DC1 sleeping through 12 weeks and always been a great sleeper. Had to be woken up to feed as a little baby.
DC2 has never reliably slept through (now 5.5yrs). Was well over a year old before sleeping for more than 3-4 hrs and needs much less sleep than her siblings.
DC3 sleeping through from 8 months (had a night feed prior to that) and generally a good sleeper.
DC1 formula fed, DC2 combi fed, and DC3 breastfed. DC1 started weaning at 5 months, DC2 and DC3 later to start weaning at 7+ months.

MuchTooTired · 09/12/2020 21:36

8ish weeks with a dream feed around 10/11pm for my DTs. I used to stay up until 1-2am because if they were hungry that’s when the next feed would’ve been so I didn’t gain massively from the extra time!

8 weeks was the point I remember thinking that my body was amazing and I was an actual superhero because my brain was saying that I was going to die from exhaustion but my body just kept going.

YakkityYakYakYak · 09/12/2020 21:38

By about 6 weeks old DD was only waking once in the night and sleeping through otherwise. I was very smug about this. Then she hit 4 months and it all went to shit. I think she started properly sleeping through again at about 9 months.

toastfiend · 09/12/2020 21:39

10/11 months, after I started gently cutting down night feeds from every 1-2 hours throughout the night to one feed, then nothing. Took about a month to do it gradually and gently (one feed at a time) and DH slept on the floor in DS' room for several nights because we didn't want to leave him to cry it out or "sleep train" as such. Worked well, though, and he's slept through the night from 7.30pm-7.30am very reliably (bar a dreadful sleep regression a couple of months ago) ever since.

I am a firm believer that, whilst you can help the process (i.e I started reducing night feeds when he never really fed, just woke and asked to be breastfed but then spent most of that time blowing raspberries on my boob and pulling my hair, not feeding, so obviously wasn't requesting it out of "need") they will sleep through when they're ready, and some are ready earlier than others.

Pinkchocolate · 09/12/2020 21:41

My first didn’t go through the night until after the first year.
My second was a dream for the first two months and then not until after two years.

Changethetoner · 09/12/2020 21:42

7 weeks.

CoronaBollox · 09/12/2020 21:43

Around 3 months for my eldest, a feed at around 10ish then slept until 6.30 am. My second is still waking at 2am for a feed, she is 8 months.

Indecisivelurcher · 09/12/2020 21:45

Dd, 6 months after sleep training. Stopped at age 4. Intermittent at age 6.
Ds, 14m after working with a sleep consultant.

20viona · 09/12/2020 21:54

She only Woke once for a feed from around 3 months. Been pretty lucky but sleeping completely through and me not getting up AT ALL to find the dummy lay her down etc 16 months.

anotherboyontheway · 09/12/2020 21:54

Still waiting for my 3 year old to sleep through- sorry x

drumst1ck · 09/12/2020 21:57

-Waking 2-4 times a night until 7 months
-Waking every night at 5am until 11 months
-11 months onwards she's slept through since. Haven't had to go in to get her back down once! (She's now 14 months)

Daisyflower12345 · 09/12/2020 22:05

My DD is 17 months and still wakes during the night once or twice. Still patiently waiting for the day she sleeps through lol

Just wondering guys when your DC wake up during the night what is it usually for. Like is it for a bottle or do they need to be comforted back to sleep ? Obviously this question is for the older DC from 12months on 🙂

My DD wakes up an ususally needs tapping back to sleep.

AriesTheRam · 09/12/2020 22:05

Around 1 year

NickMarlow · 09/12/2020 22:09

Dd1 slept through from 6-18months and then not again until about 4yo.

Dd2 didnt sleep through until 14 months but once she got it, she got it.

Cattenberg · 09/12/2020 22:13

She slept right through from about 10 weeks. I was very lucky. However, now that she’s a toddler, she sleeps fewer hours than average for her age.

TheMandalorian · 09/12/2020 22:14

When you say sleep through do you mean 7pm to 7am?
Ds1 started sleeping 8pm til about 5am at about 20months old but was truly terrible waking every hour before that.
He slept through 7 til 6/7 about age 3 reliably. Always an early riser.
Ds2 has just started sleeping through age 4.5yo but still wakes me up to go for a wee if he needs it.

Moo678 · 09/12/2020 22:16

All 3 of mine didn’t sleep through reliably until 1 - pretty good sleepers after this though.

FoolsAssassin · 09/12/2020 22:18

8 weeks and 13 weeks but things went pear shaped when one of the,m was 4 for a bit.

carleyemma91 · 09/12/2020 22:21

My 6 month old has slept a minimum of 10 hours a night since she was 4 weeks old. Magical unicorn baby lol.
