What is it that you can't live without or the food that helps you with your queasiness / nausea the best?
For me it is boring toast, cheese strings and instant chicken noodles. Smile

G&t.

I know that sounds awful but one tiny sip cut through the nausea instantly. If I had more than a sip, it made it worse. Sometimes just the smell would stop me feeling sick.

A pre-mix can lasted about a week. It didn't matter that it went flat. Nothing else worked

Terriblecreature · 09/11/2020 04:46

Slush puppies/ice lollies/ice poles anything icy with some sort of flavouring. The slush puppies were the best though

rorosemary · 09/11/2020 04:52

Eating a banana in the morning while still lying down, do not try to sit up without it. Sipping cola. Eating carbs very regularly. It was all carbs, carbs, carbs for me in the first trimester. Tbh nothing worked totally, only for severity, it just stopped the gagging, not the nausea itself.

Oh and eat whatever works. I thought I would balloon by eating all those carbs, but didn't really gain any weight in the first trimester. I went up and down a pound, that's it.

Ginger biscuits, rich tea biscuits, toast, fruit and eating small meals regularly.

I am fine in a morning, then around 11am I start to feel nauseous for the rest of the day..

I try and have a bowl of fruit nearby so I can pick (strawberries, raspberries etc) and i'm working from home at the moment so I can grab a snack when I want to. But my absolute saviors have been rich tea biscuits, they are so dry and plain that they stop me feeling sickly instantly :) x

ShirleyPhallus · 09/11/2020 10:18

Oh god chicken noodles here. Soooooo good.

hotcrosswhat · 09/11/2020 10:21

Orange juice, cereal, fruit, jacket potatoes. Also McDonalds Blush

AndromedaDud · 09/11/2020 10:22

Mini cheddars! Or even full-size Cheddars!
Fizzy drink (don't normally drink it)

Dyra · 09/11/2020 11:41

Salt and vinegar crisps.
Fruit gums.
Stale french baguette. Toast probably would have been better, but I just wanted a dried out heel of bread. 🤷🏼‍♀️

northerngal20 · 09/11/2020 11:53

i've been living off hummous and pitta bread, cheese and crackers and sparkling water! pretty much the thought of anything else makes me feel pretty awful

Caspianberg · 09/11/2020 13:01

Fresh orange juice, homemade orange juice ice lollies ( bought a zoku to make instant lollies), oat biscuits

Babyjune21 · 09/11/2020 13:07

The one and only thing I can stomach at the momment is coco pops and banana

Oliack1417 · 09/11/2020 13:15

Ready salted crisps really helped me!

ShirleyPhallus · 09/11/2020 13:20

God those of you saying orange juice - how could you possibly stomach that, it’s so acidic!!

Caspianberg · 09/11/2020 13:40

@ShirleyPhallus - no idea, it just seemed to balance it out. I would get up at like 6am and have an orange ice lolly ( had to be frozen innocent orange juice), stopped the sickness. I couldn’t have it I left it too late and already felt sick though.
Baby was born in May, so I was making ice lollies like a crazy lady in the middle of winter

BiBabbles · 09/11/2020 13:57

Flavoured milks and milkshakes - eased my stomach, soothed my throat and mind, and on the occasions it didn't work and it came back up it wasn't much of an issue. With how I had it with my first, I think my oldest was half chocolate milk when he was born Grin

Opposite of that was bread, everyone said it would help, but it only made it worse for me and bread is the worst thing to throw up I think.

LaMadrilena · 09/11/2020 14:08

Yesss! Chicken instant noodles! Also tonic (not tried with gin yet, but I'll give it a go) and fizzy mineral water. Cola bottle sweets. Toast with salt and olive oil. Crisps. That's it. My poor DH is worried and trying to sneak chopped veg into meals like I'm 3 years old! (And I pick it all out. Like I'm 3 years old.)

adogisforlife91 · 09/11/2020 14:12

Trying to figure out what mine is at the moment. So far, gallons of sparkling water mixed with peach squash (underrated IMO!)
Sometimes juice, and sometimes those pre-cut fruit mixes from the supermarket. Melon & Mango and such.

Bought a big box of Ritz crackers based on similar MN threads, but I can't stomach them!!

turnthebiglightoff · 09/11/2020 14:22

McDonald's, ham donuts and I went 5 weeks in a row having tom yum soup for dinner Grin

turnthebiglightoff · 09/11/2020 14:22

Jam donuts. I'm not a psychopath

husbandcallsmepickle · 09/11/2020 14:23

Marmite toast, salt&vinegar crisps, ginger biscuits.

Couldn't stand mint inc. toothpaste. Tried zendium (free sample in Bounty pack) and am now a convert. Well worth the price

Tangledtresses · 09/11/2020 14:41

Wotsits
Anything in vinegar

SlipperTripper · 09/11/2020 15:42

Mini cheddars and maoam chewy sweet strips, which I bought by the ton. Annoyingly, when I bit the bullet and bought a catering size box from Amazon, my stomach suddenly decided to turn at the sight of them, so they went to a very grateful friend.

Pinktruffle · 09/11/2020 16:54

Seabrook ready salted crisps, Ryvita with hummus and olives and potatoes, potatoes and more potatoes - chippy chips with salt and vinegar in particular.

charcb · 09/11/2020 18:05

Wow plenty of great options. Will definitely give these a go! Liking the idea of McDonald's (feeling very much like a cheese burger!), wotsits, cola and cola sweets among many others! Will need to give these a go in this weeks shopping. And glad instant chicken noodles are also other people's favs!

Guinness, dairylea triangles and ice cubes Grin
