The other night my DP's family was having a party, but I was finishing work late so I went to my mum's to get reasdy and go with my family. When I got to mums I kept being sick and had to stay home alone. My DP was ringing every two mins to check on me and on the third time I answered the phone in floods of tears.
When he asked why I said I didn't know.
So he kept asking.
Eventually I admitted that there was a lovely dwarf on Deal or No Deal with big blue innocent eyes and I imagined that he must have had a hard life with a lot of stick and that was it, I was away. I cried for an hour and a half altho the reason changed about 6 times.
He told all my family at the party and asked them not to tell me incase it set me off again. Of course the first thing they went on about when they got in was me crying over a dwarf with a hard life.

I decided to catch the bus to the station as I worked late and it was cold. I waited 10 minutes for the bus (the station is an 8 minute walk away)the bus pulled up, it was crowded at the front with loads of room at the back, the driver refused to open his doors and took off. I walked to the station, 2 busses went past. I got to the platform, the express train arrived, people were jammed in the door, but there was loads of room in the middle of the carriage, I knocked on the window and asked those ignorant people to MOVE DOWN PLEASE, I was laughed at by those warm inside the train as it look off with me still on the platform. The next train was 2 minutes away, but I still cried.

I cried pretty much all night last night... I cried whilst cooking dinner. I cried because DS kept escaping from his chair and not going to sleep like he used to then I cried when I took him to bed with me and he snuggled up how we used to and thought I was awful for ever making him go to bed by himself. I cried when I shouted at him. I cried when we had no coriander for the curry. I cried becasue DH had to go out and get some. I cried when DH put on Hells Kitchen USA instead of DOc Martin.

I just cried all night long. DH asked what was wrong and I just blubbed that I didnt know.

Mixedmama {{{{{{{{{HUGS}}}}}}}}}} It's just the hormones!

mixedmama · 24/10/2007 09:08

Thanks Chipmonkey - I know, but was just ridiculous really, I mean crying over coriander

widgetsmummy · 24/10/2007 09:32

I cried yesterday because there was air in the pipes and when I turned the tap on it made that noise and splurted water making me jump... just wanted to wash my hands. Then cried more becuase DH didn't come running to see if I was ok - not drowned or anything! Poor DH.

chipmonkeyPumpkinNorks · 24/10/2007 16:48

Coriander's an OK thing to cry about. I draw the line at Garam Masala!

madcatlady · 24/10/2007 17:32

that sma milk advert - has anyone seen it? blokes making promises to their pregnant OH....

also any baby clothes at all (very small ones especially)

wobbegong · 24/10/2007 18:15

I blub in all of my midwife and hospital appointments, and to my great shame I have just found it written today in my medical notes: "Very tearful and anxious". I am mortified. When they ask what is wrong, I genuinely say "I don't know, I think it's just hormones!". Really, all it takes is someone medical to ask in a kindly tone, "how are you?" and I'm off!!

turtle23 · 24/10/2007 21:01

My DH put his arms round me in bed this morning and said "You even smell beautiful when you're pregnant...i love you." I should have thought about it and questioned whether he thinks I stink at other times, but just burst into tears and couldn't stop for about an hour.

A few days after having DS1, while I was still a hormonal wreck, I cried because it was raining and I thought the clouds were crying.

When I was pregnant I cried at the Abbey National Advert where the poor hedgehogs can't get a home in a tree stump until they get a mortgage from Abbey, signified by a red box. They then climb on the box and settle into their new home together.

After I had my baby I cried at the SMA advert (previously mentioned) and someone else's baby crying because it was in a blue light box (for jaundice). Also when my husband first masaged my shoulders and when my health visitor said I was a great mum when I still feel totally overwhelmed and clue-less after 9 weeks.

loopyredangel · 24/10/2007 23:25

Has anybody seen the new SMA advert, the one were the partner is saying he is so proud of youthat you made hime the happiest person by giving him a child - oh my god, i cried buckets, as did my hubby, or DS aged 2 just looked at us as much as to say what the hell iswrong with you two!
I cried because I was too tired to finish my ironing!

chipmonkeyPumpkinNorks · 25/10/2007 00:16

No, actually, that ad just makes me mad! It is blatant advertising of formula. And I know people are going to get at me too for saying it because I've seen a big row about it already on an Irish forum. And that will make me cry!

chipmonkeyPumpkinNorks · 25/10/2007 01:38

Now, this does make me cry! Very nostalgic! ( For those of you in my age bracket which probably isn't many!}

turtle23 · 25/10/2007 19:02

this

hotpotmama · 25/10/2007 20:34

This is really embarassing to admit - Dirty Dancing - when it was on the other night.

Have watched it loads when younger and never cried once. Made me really sob this time, even the classic "nobody puts Baby in a corner" line had me going

debinaustria · 25/10/2007 20:36

Today it as the film "Santa Claus" - got me going a few times

chipmonkeyPumpkinNorks · 25/10/2007 22:26

Yep, turtle, that got me going! Mainly because that woman had no stretch marks and I have loads!

loopyredangel · 26/10/2007 00:08

chipmonkey "It is blatant advertising of formula".... and!!!

Why is it such a big deal that it was an advert for formula?

chipmonkeyPumpkinNorks · 26/10/2007 00:59

Oh, I knew I was going to get grief for that!
It is illegal to advertise infant formula for babies under 6 months. So the formula companies can't advertise. So they invent follow-on milk. Not because it's better for babies than stage 1 formula (it isn't!) but only so they can advertise it. And then in their ads, they clearly target parents of babies under 6 months or babies who aren't even born yet. I believe it undermines breastfeeding. Hence the slushy, soppy ads annoy me because if they really cared about babies they wouldn't advertise at all.
