Wipes and nappies

Hi everyone

What wipes and nappies are you all buying for your babies? I've got a set of reusable wipes which I expect to use at home but will likely need some disposable wipes for out and about.

I also don't know where to start with choosing nappies! I want to help spread the cost by buying some bits and pieces now before my income drops.

What are you buying and why?

Didn’t read fully - for nappies I use a variety of brands, my favourites are la petite ourse and bamboo ‘superpee’ terries from a site called Little Pants.

Word of warning, Huggies wipes fall apart and tear easily when trying to get them out the packet one handed. Very frustrating when trying to pin down a wriggly poo covered baby.

I have tried so many different brands of nappies and I always end up coming back to Pampers, despite the price. They are so much softer and are a much better quality than supermarket versions. I also found that Rascal nappies were amazing (only sold at Tesco- I think), especially when my son was weaning and having explosives- they were the only nappy that worked!!

Prior to weaning, pampers wipes were best (for runny poo). After weaning, and especially after around 15 months I found Huggies best as they grip the hard poo off the bum.

@JumpingJamboree have you had a look at wool covers for overnight? I knit so I made my own but you can buy them, they’re really easy to care for and because they’re so soft they’re really comfy for baby to wear!

Also reusable wipes are loads better at cleaning up poo/sticky hands/faces. All the disposable wipes we've tried have been dire in comparison

This. Disposable wipes are rubbish! Reusable wipes are easy to manage out and about. We only use disposable wipes on holiday when we don’t have access to a washing machine (which is how I know how Crap they are).

Mamia wipes and nappies during the day but I use pampers at night now that he sleeps longer.

We use bambino mio all in one nappies.

Wipes we use cheeky wipes. We have Terry cloth, microfiber and face cloths. The Terry ones are best for poos. We got little pouches to keep them in so we can take them out with us. A clean pouch and a dirty pouch, and then a reusable wet bag for the nappies

Cheap ass (pardon the pun) microfibre cloths meant for cleaning or flannels. They make great wipes. Just need couple of wet bags for transportation or a water bottle to wet them.

Gave up on disposable baby wipes but used huggies before that

Waterwipes as they’re much better than anything else I tried.

Pampers for nappies but I never compared to other brands.

DS is 15 and doubly incontinent. We get our nappies from the incontinence service now but for wipes, hands down I have found Sainsbury's to be the best disposable and I have tried them all over the years.

We're just moving this over to pregnancy for the OP.

Aldi wipes are spot on!
I don’t like they’re nappies though. My son constantly leaked with Aldi nappies in all sizes. Lidl’s are ok. But I tend to use these if we’re just at home as they do fill quickly.
I like sainsburys. I use these at night. My son sleeps 12hrs. He’s never leaked with them & they’re quite absorbing.

Huggies wipes are awful - thin and way too wet.

Naty nappies are dear but you don't have to change them as much so save money. Water wipes or Lidl wipes are good. X
