Taking maternity notes to Centre Parcs ?

I’m leaving for Centre Parcs tomorrow for the week . I’ll be 32 weeks pregnant on Monday. Low risk pregnancy. The Centre Parcs I’m going to is only a 1.5 hour drive away from my house and hospital. I HATE packing extra stuff . Plus my maternity notes are looking a bit beaten up at the moment ( my toddler got a hold of them ).

Would you bring your notes along with you ?

Yep, they go everywhere you do, especially this late on in your pregnancy.

You probably won't need them, but if you did you'd regret not packing them and there's no guarantee that you'd be able to get back to your local hospital if you needed attention while away.

mintich · 17/09/2020 17:03

Yep! Definitely take them

ImANosyNeighbour · 17/09/2020 17:04

Yes they are supposed to go everywhere with you.

Redcrayons · 17/09/2020 17:04

My doctor told me off for not carting mine round everywhere with me. Mine was a high risk twin pregnancy though.

And of course the time I forgot to take them, I ended up in hospital!

whatswithtodaytoday · 17/09/2020 17:05

Yes, definitely! I lugged mine into London with me every day for work.

tryingharder92 · 17/09/2020 17:05

You say you hate packing stuff, it would take a second to put them in a bag and into the car. Bit of a non event in my opinion.

Oreoreo · 17/09/2020 17:06

If you’re not keen on physically taking them, why don’t you take a photo of them and have them all on your phone? Me and DP both have copies on our phones in case we need them at any point and I’ve forgotten to lift them

FTMNOV · 17/09/2020 17:07

I've been keeping my notes in the car from 25 weeks just incase anything is to happen whilst at work or out I have my notes with me and I can go straight to the hospital and not have to go back and get my notes

MichelleOR84 · 17/09/2020 18:17

@tryingharder92 I hate overpacking and I worry about them getting lost or ruined ! I promise I’m not just lazy or irresponsible.

Okay so it looks like I’ll definitely will be taking them ! I had no idea you were meant to take them everywhere although I haven’t gone anywhere anyway 😝

Interesting read as my notes are on an app?! I guess perhaps my trust is one of the only ones doing it all online... I am right in thinking you have had your notes since early on? X

cf389 · 17/09/2020 19:13

@ceebee21 Mine are all online, no physical notes at all!

motherofdxughters · 17/09/2020 19:18

Absolutely. They go everywhere you go.

Lilybet1980 · 17/09/2020 19:21

It’s not just the chances of ending up in early labour (which are low) but handy to have them in case you need to see a doctor or midwife when you’re away. I was ill on holiday last year so took them to an appointment with a local doctor.

hm246 · 17/09/2020 19:24

Yep take them. I went for a last weekend away when I was about 34 weeks. We were 2 hours away from our house and I had to go into the local hospital for reduced movements. Had none of my notes with me.

MichelleOR84 · 17/09/2020 19:26

I wish mine were all digital!!!

@hm246 Oh no!!

@ceebee21 yup , I’ve had mine since 8 weeks !

I’d just put them in your glove box or something and leave them there

ChanklyBore · 17/09/2020 19:50

I never took mine anywhere. They were a giant sheaf of faff and they stayed at home in a drawer. One time I went into labour and had no idea where they were but it didn’t matter, someone must have found them at some point I imagine. I was busy!

I also went to centreparcs when pregnant which is why I clicked. Do people really carry around a big A4 folder with very intimate medical information everywhere they go?

OverTheRainbow88 · 17/09/2020 19:57

I would take them... I went abroad at 33 weeks and didn’t take them, had a problem, was made to feel ridiculously stupid!

OverTheRainbow88 · 17/09/2020 20:00

I also forgot to take them to hospital when in labour and because of my skin colour and name I pretty much got accused of not being a british citizen and here to give birth for free... about 5 times during my labour.!

Fast90 · 17/09/2020 20:01

Yes of course

Mmsnet101 · 17/09/2020 20:03

Wow I had no idea this was still done on paper in some areas, how old school! Online and on an app here and has been for a number of years here.

pandafunfactory · 17/09/2020 20:26

It's very inconvenient if you need to go in to hospital and don't have them. I refuse to believe that nobody has mentioned this to you before, especially as you've been pregnant at least twice Hmm
