So in view of today's antics I thought I'd get your opinions... I decided I would veet my unwanted hairs away... Now sat with a ice back on the crotch whilst feeling the burn!!
I mean its smooth and feels tidy who wlknows what it looks like my guess is a joint of lamb.
However ladies what's the general feeling are we just leaving it to grow.... Giving it a tidy up or removal all the way? I don't feel I could veet it again should I want to have any skin left....... And its a real mood killer if anyone wants a excuse!! I've been waddling round the house like a penguin looking for relief... Savlon does not work... Thrush cream nope just good old water n ice!!

"joint of lamb" Grin

I used to wave the bush trimmer round it as best I could so it was reasonably short. Of course when I went into labour I hadn't done it for weeks but the midwife didn't seem to care!

MrFlibblesEyes · 19/04/2020 09:02

Clippers. Keeps it nice and short- slightly longer than the itchy stubble rash length from wet shaving but shorter than a complete bush. Plus there's a lot less risk of cutting yourself when you can't actually see what you're doing!

MrsRose2018 · 19/04/2020 09:04

According to my obs and gyne contacts Waxing/veeting is not recommended in final trimester due to infection risk.

I had a little trimmy trim the other day - husband may has to help 🙊 - as the consultant actually had to part my hair during a consultation the other day 😂😂

Otherwise I’m leaving it be. I’ve waxed pretty much for 14 years, I’m having a holiday! 😂 x

PrinnyPree · 19/04/2020 09:33

Got my trimmer/clippers, a carefully positioned shaving mirror and one leg on the bath hovering my chuff over the toilet bowl. Definitely not veeting, I'm uncomfotable enough, just trimming the hedge enough so the midwife doesn't need a machete down there. Grin

Avearage · 19/04/2020 10:24

Grin glad I'm not the only one giving it ago.... The only trimmers I have are hubby's beard trimmers...... Would he know Hmm.
I definitely won't be veeting again I feel like I've used a hot cheese grater down there!!!

MrsRose may i suggest plaits with a middle parting before your next appointment?
Grin

UrsulaSings · 19/04/2020 10:48

Which shaver/trimmer are you girls using?

I have one but its horrendous! It cut me the other day right on the fanny lip and bled loads! Thought if I try again I'd use a mirror so I can at least see vaguely what I'm doing.

Musmerian · 19/04/2020 10:52

You’re all bonkers. I really don’t understand the obsession with pube removal and particularly when you’re going to be giving birth.

maria2bela · 19/04/2020 11:01

I keep it hair free and clean, especially in last trimester as I was worried that if I went to early labour or something it wouldn't be ready 😂.

MrsRose2018 · 19/04/2020 11:01

@Windyatthebeach pre haircut you could legit have got a couple of dreadlocks in there 😂😂

DeadbeatDescendant · 19/04/2020 11:14

What Musmerian. You’re leaving yourself prone to infection and when you’ve pushed a watermelon out the last thing you need is an even more delicate foof... plus no midwife is going to be shocked by the natural state of an adult woman!

DeadbeatDescendant · 19/04/2020 11:14

What Musmerian *said.

MrsRose2018 · 19/04/2020 11:33

Just whatever makes the woman feel more comfortable during a time when every fucking thing is uncomfortable innit 🤷‍♀️

Avearage · 19/04/2020 11:51

I think I just got over excited with a pampering day as I also used a foot peel got to wait 7 days to see what that brings though!!

I did think maybe a trim with scissors but the fear of cutting a lip was toe curling I opted for self inflicted burning instead 😂

I’m old to remember the campaign to not routinely shave women before they gave birth, and to make sure you wrote it in your birth plan.

MrsRose2018 · 19/04/2020 12:34

@Avearage have you cut your DH’s hair during lockdown yet? Get the favour repayed ;)

Aly92 · 19/04/2020 12:36

Lol god knows how I managed but I shaved a few days before

Pinkblueberry · 19/04/2020 12:39

Just leave it be... I had all intentions of tidying things up down there before DC arrived and then he came two weeks early. Ironically I was the hairiest I’ve ever been at a time when more people than ever were having a good look at me down there - and I couldn’t have cared less!

okiedokieme · 19/04/2020 12:55

It's a fashion! When I was in my 20's a trim with nail scissors was as far as grooming went, it wasn't just me because when you changed in open changing rooms there was no waxed women. Do what makes you feel comfortable but drs and midwives do not care!

KellyHall · 19/04/2020 12:57

I got an electric men's grooming set and leave shortish hairs, otherwise my knickers and skin upset each other. I've got to trim because I suffer from quite a sweaty down below which is obviously worse with a thick jumper on!

ScarfLadysBag · 19/04/2020 13:02

I trusted DH to trim the area and make it neat with his beard trimmer as I couldn't reach. He got a filthy look when I was in for my EMCS and they asked if it was ok if they removed some of the hair Blush

MichelleOR84 · 19/04/2020 19:13

I shaved myself around 36 weeks and cut myself in a few places and had horrible grown out patches that I missed . I was a mess down there . I should have just left it wild 😂

I went into labour a week later and didn’t care at all . When you are in so much pain you really don’t care and neither do the midwives .

cressyeggy · 19/04/2020 19:17

Leave it!! For goodness sake you have enough on with being pregnant, without a burnt fanny!

Midwives do NOT care!

With DD1 I got him to help out but did the majority myself with a flexible head razor, mirror and steady hand.
When it came to D-day and an emergency caesarean I remember a nurse coming in with a razor, lifted up my sheets and said "oh, doesn't matter" and left 😂

Igotthemheavyboobs · 19/04/2020 19:27

I'm leaving it, can't face the regrowth itch just after labour!
