Tall parents... big baby?

Hello! I need some help, pregnant with my first, I’m 5ft10 and dad is 6ft3

I’m trying to work out how many of each size baby grows to get. I don’t want to go mad on newborn and 0-1 month if I’m going to have a baby that will be too big for them!

I wonder if there’s any tall girls out there who have had a baby already and offer some experience?

Thanks 😊 I’ll probably just end up buying cheaper small stuff in the end x

We are both 5"11.
Our son was born on his due date and weighed 7lb something (maybe 5oz?)
At 13 months we took him to be measured for shoes and his feet are so small we only had a choice of two pairs!
I think he will be tall but not big if you know what I mean. In fact, one of my nicknames for him is Dinky Doll!!

Thank you so much everybody! These comments have all been really helpful and I think it so interesting as well!

I like the ideas about the footless things... I didn’t think of that! I’ll buy a mixture (probably more than I would have had if coronavirus wasn’t a thing and I could go and get some more easily once he’s here) xx

Google

John Lewis Baby Bundler

Those are the nightgowns I was meaning. Brilliant for overnight. DH found the poppers on baby grows very fiddly with his huge hands!

I’m 5’10 and dad 6’5.
Don’t go mad on 0-1m or 0-3m. I didn’t use any 0-1m and my son was in 3-6m clothes at 4 weeks old and 6-9m at 3-4 months old.
He was 25th percentile when born at 38 weeks, then raced up to 91st percentile where he’s been ever since.
Relatives bought me lots of 0-3m and loads he wore maybe once or not at all. I wished we had more 3-6 and 6-9 clothing.
To be fair though he spent most of his 2nd week of life in a nappy only as it was during the heatwave last summer 😂

Definitely footless sleep suits, they last so much longer, I'm 5' 3" (dad 6') my last baby was 9lbs 9oz (others 9, 8, 7 and 7lbs roughly) new born size doesn't last long

I'm 5ft5 and Ds dad is 6ft1 he was 9lb 1 and 55cm at birth. He came a week early and the only time he wore newborn clothes was in the hospital. We were only in for one night. The sleepsuits were too small in the feet for him. I put him in upto 1 month when we got home and that size fit for about 3 weeks. He is now 11 months, above the 99th percentile for length, 23lbs and has been in 12-18 months for about 8 weeks. Some things are looking a bit small.

I'm 5'9" (lost an entire inch almost somewhere) and partner is 6'10"... I am fearing the burn of birth.
