Pregnancy test getting lighter at 7 weeks

Hi All

I’m a first time expecting Mum and i found out I was pregnant around 4 weeks. I have been using the easy@home pregnancy tests and tested for the first week everyday. It was so lovely to see how dark the lines were getting and got to a point where I thought they couldn’t get any darker so I stopped testing. I did a test last Sunday (6 weeks and 2 days) and it looked lighter. I’ve tested again this morning (6 weeks and 6 days) and it’s most definitely lighter. I’m panicking! I’ve booked myself in for a viability scan on Sunday but now I’m convinced I’ve lost the baby.

I just wanted to say thank you to everyone for these posts. Like so many others i had become addicted to testing! I got a nasty bug last week and tested again today and saw the line much fainter and started to panic, but after reading this, i diluted the sample and tested again and it is back to it's old dark self! I was silently panicking as FTM and lots of friends have had miscarriages so am a little paranoid! Thanks again to everyone who posted!

Just to add my experience for anyone reading this (I know it is an old thread but it comes up on a google search). I have had exactly this experience. Wondfo tests got lighter at 6 weeks, having previously been dark (with the test line darker than the control line). I tested at 6 weeks, 6+1 and 6+2 using FMU. The test line was getting gradually lighter and was back to being lighter than the control line. I read this thread and a few others (including this article: www.avawomen.com/avaworld/false-negative-pregnancy-test/) and tested again a few hours later with urine after lots of cups of tea. The test was back to being super dark on the test line and darker again than the control line. I am hoping that means my panic was for nothing but will confirm with a scan after 7 weeks.

im new to forums but now that I’m pregnant I really want to join the community. Not sure when I ovulated, but I’m 36 LMP. I’ve had one miscarriage at 8/9 weeks, and recently one chemical. So with this pregnancy I tracked the hcg progression line until the doctor returns from Easter holiday to draw my blood. Anyway, to days ago I tested again expecting a dye stealer (see the top test in picture) and two days later expecting something similar (bottom test), but the bottom test is lighter! To me the control line is darker again, and in general both lines are lighter. Where’s the dye? Why is test line lighter in only two days?
Both were done with morning urine. Ive heard of the hook effect, but can someone post pictures of what happens to test lines once it’s a dye stealer?

@Lauraaga I’ve had 2 different batches of easy at home before, one where the lines were always so much darker than the other even when I tested on the same wee! I panicked and thought it had gone lighter until I used the other batch xx

Hi. So I really need some help or advice, I did a clearblue test about 2 weeks ago and found out I’m pregnant, really dark line yay. I am now around 7 weeks. Now I have always been convinced I can not have kids so the entire thing feels so surreal and I am paranoid so I have been continuing to do tests (I know it’s probably stupid) all of which have been positive. Today the test had a really faint line, I tested first thing in the morning after waking. I am so paranoid that I’ve lost the baby. I haven’t really been experiencing symptoms, small cramps here and there but nothing major, no bleeding. I haven’t had any sickness. Just the missed period and a positive test really. Why would the line be getting lighter? I thought they were meant to get darker over time 😞

I can confirm the same experience. I’m 7+3, I tested yesterday to verify if the pregnancy is ok and got scared as I got only very light line. So I checked the internet and followed the advice here. I used another test with just a drop of my urine and filled up the rest of the tube with clean water, and got a very dark line. Today I had a scan and everything seems to be fine, the size is ok and strong heartbeat.

Please i know this is an old thread buy i need help.iam supposed to be around 7weeks plus but scan said 5weeks and my test is no longer dark as before.please has it happen to anyone and end up having the baby
