Gut feeling about gender?

Hey,

For those who have had kids did you have a gut feeling what gender they would be? Was this gut feeling right?

From the minute I found out I was pregnant I've been convinced it's a girl although I couldn't tell you why. Don't know if I'm getting my hopes up way too much

I'm 37 weeks with my second and I still can't quite get my head round the fact she's a girl 😂I was so sure I was having another boy. I had no idea the first time until my scan, I did have a dream though that I had to have a c section and in my dream they told me he weighed 7lb 14, and I had a c section and that's exactly what he weighed

MUMMA2BEX · 29/01/2020 15:18

@mrssunshinexxx my scan is on the 25th of feb. My boyfriend is going to find out and we're going to have a mini gender reveal that evening as I have a lot of young cousins who are very excited to find out!! It also means my reaction will more than likely be caught on camera so if it's a boy everyone will see my surprise!

Il also update on if I was right or wrong on here

We didn't find out the sex but I spent the entire pregnancy adament he was a boy, and lo and behold, he's a boy. Strangely w could only agree on boys names too.

Talcott2007 · 29/01/2020 15:34

I honestly had no 'feeling' about what sex DD was going to be. I did want a girl but as it was a surprise conception I actually thought there is now way I will be lucky enough to have a girl too etc.
However all the unproven nub, skull, heart rate, wedding ring on string, bump shape and Chinese age predictor theories I entertained myself with in the months leading up to the 20 week scan said girl but even after we had a very clear 4D scan at around 32weeks I kept saying they only way to really know is to see when the baby arrives!

Chirpychirpy3 · 29/01/2020 15:40

I was convinced I was having a boy. I was all bump, carried at the front, slow heart rate and was IVF so apparently more likely to be a boy. Even my midwife said she thought it was a boy.

When dd popped out 6 weeks early I was very shocked but delighted. Just shows you never know.

wheelsfellofflongago · 29/01/2020 15:47

I felt I was having a bit with my first and did ( we didn't find out until he was born.) And I felt like I was having a boy with my second and SHE turned out to be a girl. I was really shocked despite not finding out, so of course it could of been either. So I don't rate gut feeling other than down to luck.

wheelsfellofflongago · 29/01/2020 15:49

*boy

tealandseagreen · 29/01/2020 15:55

Yes right on all four!

tealandseagreen · 29/01/2020 15:57

Finally a girl and my morning sickness and lack of weight put on was so different that I knew.

Belliniteeny · 29/01/2020 15:59

I had a gut feeling both times and was right, both times. We did find out at the scans though, so we had early confirmation.

Selfsettling3 · 29/01/2020 16:00

I knew the first time it was a boy. Except it wasn’t.

bluemoon2468 · 29/01/2020 16:27

I am only early on but I have been convinced since my first BFP that I'm having a girl. I have no idea why, because to be honest I really want a boy. I'm having dreams where it's a girl, thinking of her as she in my head and everything. It's bizarre.

DappledThings · 29/01/2020 16:46

I was sure DC1 was a boy. To the extent that when people asked if we knew I sometimes forgot and said a boy.

But I think it's bollocks. There is no way you can know. I was annoyed with myself for being so sure when I knew it was bollocks and almost wanted a girl just to be proved wrong.

I was right but that isn't any proof of gut instinct, just of the 50:50 chance it is.

sel2223 · 29/01/2020 17:53

I'm 11+3 and have been secretly convinced since the day I found out I was pregnant that it's a girl. My parents both keep accidentally calling the baby 'she' as well even though i've never told them my gut feeling and they're not together so it's totally independent of each other.

I'll be shocked if it turns out to be a boy because this feeling is so strong and seems so real but I genuinely won't be bothered either way. Little boys are fabulous too xx

user1471449295 · 29/01/2020 17:56

I had a gut feeling every time, and I was right every time

november90 · 29/01/2020 17:57

The first time I was convinced it was a boy and I was right! With this pregnancy I started off thinking girl but as soon as I saw my 6 week scan photo I just knew it was another boy and I was right again :) Mother's intuition certainly can work in my eyes!

mrssunshinexxx · 29/01/2020 17:58

@MUMMA2BEX amazing, look forward to the update mine is nect thurs so if we find out I'll come back x

madeyemoodysmum · 29/01/2020 18:10

Once yes once no.

HL123 · 29/01/2020 18:12

Me and my family were convinced I was having a boy, I found out on Monday it's a girl - still think maybe they've made a mistake!

MaddeningtheUnhelpful · 29/01/2020 18:15

'Knew' both my sons were boys but my little girl I really had no idea at all.

KipperTheFrog · 29/01/2020 19:33

I was convinced for 34 weeks with DD1 that she was going to be a boy. Then at 34 weeks I changed my mind and decided she would be a girl. She was a girl! I think it was more that I WANTED a boy. I didnt think I could parent a girl, thought I'd be better with boys. I'll never know as I have 2 girls.

MUMMA2BEX · 03/02/2020 22:15

Got gifted an early scan and I can confirm after being so confident I was having a girl I'm actually having a boy 😂 you really don't know until you see that potty shot!!

With my first I absolutely “knew” from finding out I was pregnant that it was a boy, I was so convinced that if they’d have told me at the scan he was a girl I wouldn’t have believed them!
With this pregnancy I don’t have that same certainty at all, but maybe because I have a preference it’s clouding my judgement! I’ll be happy either way of course 😊

Snakelet · 03/02/2020 23:34

When I had DD you only generally had one scan at 12 weeks and no one asked if i wanted to know the gender even if they’d been able to tell at that stage. Anyhow I was absolutely convinced it was a boy to the extent I didn’t really spend much time thinking of girls names. I had a girl.

I was absolutely convinced DS was having a boy when she was pregnant the first time. Wrong again. Next time round I didn’t have any particular feeling which is just as well as no doubt I’d have got it wrong again.

Snakelet · 03/02/2020 23:35

Sorry I meant when DD was having a baby. Not DS.
