Hey guys.

Has anyone got the mybabii bedside crib? It’s on offer at Aldi’s baby event for £79.99 including Mattress and my mum has kindly said she will buy it for me tomorrow.

I just wanted to know if it was any good and how it compares to the Chicco version?

@bumponboard2020 that’s really helpful. did you get the 83 x 50 or the 86 x 50?

I said custom size and asked for 85 x 50 - that’s what my babiie confirmed mattress size should be. I got the sheets as well to save myself the hassle trying to find ones that fit 👌🏻

CupCupGoose · 07/03/2020 13:42

The IKEA crib sheets fit. You get two in a pack, grey stripes and grey spots.

Thanks @Bumponboard2020 will place an order x

Just wanted to check if anyone has any issues with stability of this crib? We put ours together last night and it seems really wobbly. We followed the exact instructions in the booklet and the video online (which was much easier to follow). I don’t really feel comfortable with putting a newborn in there as you touch it gently and it moves. Also noticed that there is another bracket/frame in the instruction booklet but not in the video or photo and we also didn’t have it in the box. I think I’ll be asking for my money back 🤷‍♀️Anyone else had similar issue? Thanks in advance!

Keen to know if can get a replacement mattres and how much would cost.

Dullblue · 30/03/2020 13:16

The Next2me Sheets fit fine. I got some from eBay.

Vickij87 · 30/03/2020 22:04

Yes! I bought it around January time in the Aldi baby event and we just assembled it tonight! Im due baby in 6 days! Bed seems extremely wobbly! We have a lose screw which cant tighten or remove from the leg! One of the wheels is totally missing and the crib doesn’t lower as much as it says it should! Im extremely disappointed in product and now with lockdown and social distancing we wont be able to buy anything else and truth be told i dont have money for a replacement at this short notice

Kamalam · 31/03/2020 00:38

We’re having similar issues but I emailed mybabiie today and had some replies which is a good sign! They asked for a receipt but as we bought couple of months ago, I can’t seem to find it so just waiting to hear what they say. I did manage to find another crib (as a back up) at George, Asda for £40 so just ordered that. It seems to have some great reviews so fingers crossed!!! Hopefully you will get yours sorted! I agree, not great timing with everything going on!

Hello people, after reading the comments on this thread already, I decided to follow the link buy a mattress suitable for the My Babiie Closer crib.
There is slot of customisable options as previously said, ours came to £21 including delivery, you can get then to make it to 85cm-50cm to fit this crib.
Thank you for the people who found out the sizes and originally posted the link to buy it.
Due to the virus I think the turn arou d on them is about 14 days, we are due at the end of May so hopefully the mattress arrives before baby!
I'm now going to hunt for some Ikea sheets! Thank you also for that suggestion!

Bumponboard2020 · 21/04/2020 14:00

Glad the info helped, was really happy with our purchase, fits really well and much more comfortable. That company were great I was able to email them and ask to expedite shipping to Ireland, now it was just when all this was kicking off so could be different now but defo worth a shot

I have this crib. And I hate it. The whole thing is wobbly, and the base isn’t level no matter what we do. My 4 week old son has been waking up on his side basically face planting the side of the crib. I hate the thing.

jo4nn492 · 25/04/2020 09:40

Hi,
I have this crib bought by my mother in law. I haven't built it yet but guess I better after reading this! If I want a new mattress like many of you are suggesting do you think I need a waterproof sleeve or mattress protector from that babymatressesonline site? I might just get the sheets from there as I reckon with this covid 19 I will struggle to get any from IKEA or atleast without delivery bumping the price up. I hope mine is not wobbly Hmm

AryaKidding · 25/04/2020 11:55

I also have this and have found it awful, we found the clips which attach it together are nearly impossible to undo if you want to adjust it or take it down which has resulted in one of them snapping so we now can’t adjust it and assuming they won’t take it back if its broken, definitely wouldn’t recommend.

Keylls · 25/04/2020 12:30

They will :) we got ours in jan. Called them up and they’re collecting it on Monday and refunding us :)

Stee1 · 25/04/2020 12:57

I'm not hopeful about this atall haven't even opened the box yet haven't got the receipt though to take it back hmm think I will order the chicco one instead not seen any good things about this one

Keylls · 25/04/2020 14:09

I’ve spoken to a few people that have had the same problem as me with this crib :(

BertieBotts · 25/04/2020 14:33

I haven't used this crib myself, however, I am concerned by the comments about not being able to lower the side completely down in conjunction with the item being marketed/branded as a bedside or co-sleeping cot. I just wanted to make you aware that a similar design of bedside crib (not the same one) was implicated a few years ago in a baby death. The baby wriggled so that their head was into the adult bed, with her neck resting across the lowered side and her body still in the cot. This placed too much pressure on her windpipe (it doesn't take much, for a newborn) and she sadly died.

If you do choose to purchase this crib please make very sure you read all the instructions, especially any safety advice/warnings, and whether it says this or not, don't go to sleep with the side in the half-lowered position, always make sure it's fully up (this likely makes it quite useless as a bedside cot, but I wouldn't take any chances).

I know it's not a nice thing to read, but if it keeps another baby safe I think it's worth sharing, this is the statement the company released at the time (It's not graphic and simply explains the problem with the cot): www.nct.org.uk/about-us/news-and-views/news/announcement-statement-use-bednest - you can see that they modified their product to eliminate the risk, but the use of half-folding crib sides isn't (at the moment) illegal and other cots might well exist which contain this risk factor.

essexanon · 25/04/2020 15:07

I wish my mum never bought this now. She also bought it in Jan and no longer had the receipt so don’t think they will allow us to return it.
Box is unopened but I’ve heard so many stories about this crib that I don’t even want it anymore. X

I set mine up the other weekend and am really happy with it so far, for what it’s worth!

Stee1 · 27/04/2020 12:44

I've just tried mine and it's fine not wobbly atall and seems pretty safe although the mattress is crap so I will defo get a new one

NelliePig · 27/04/2020 14:27

Bought it, set it up, looked at it and thought nope. Boxed it up and took it back. Highly reccomend the tutti bambini cozee feels 100 x sturdier, the mattress is lovely, the liner unzip for washing and it all folds down for travel. I expect mind will last for all our children and you can get a second hand one and mattress for same price as the my babie one.
It just doesnt feel safe! X

essexanon · 29/04/2020 12:42

Everyone that’s returned it, did you still have the receipt? My mum bought it for me in January in store but can’t find the receipt. Xx

AryaKidding · 17/05/2020 01:31

Don’t know if you got this sorted but I had a great response from Aldi, they collected the crib free and refunded me. (I did buy online so had a receipt)

Customer care from my babiie however was awful - they basically said I had no guarantee however they would collect if I paid them £20 and then the cost of any repairs on top of that! Which was pointless as it didn’t need repairing - it was just a crap product from the beginning!
Wouldn’t catch me buying any products from my babiie ever!

jo4nn492 · 19/05/2020 11:17

I have put my crib up and I must admit I am pleasantly surprised after reading all of these comments. Yes it is a tad wobbly but it is definately not unstable. The mattress is firm but fine. As it can be adjusted the side was able to be the same height as my bed so would work fine as a co sleeping bedside crib. I am terrified of kicking my blanket on my baby so I will be keeping the sides up anyway. I dont see what difference it makes really. I think given how cheap it is in comparison it will do the job and I think it is safe, yes it isnt perfect and will not be anywhere near the same quality as Chicco but it I would feel safe putting my baby in it and that is the main thing.
