Hey guys.

Has anyone got the mybabii bedside crib? It’s on offer at Aldi’s baby event for £79.99 including Mattress and my mum has kindly said she will buy it for me tomorrow.

I just wanted to know if it was any good and how it compares to the Chicco version?

I don't have it but wow that looks like very good value. I'm also in the market for one of these so very interested in replies.

Dullblue · 11/01/2020 21:14

I'm also wondering the same...
Hopefully this will bump it to see if there are any reviewers..

FirstTimeDS · 12/01/2020 00:39

My mum just bought it for me tonight, looks like a cheaper alternative (thankgod!) to the chicco. Will be delivered soonish so I havent seen it yet but that Aldi event is amazing.

Proper changing mats for £3.99.. made up!

PatricksRum · 12/01/2020 03:43

The zip doesn't allow you to remove the whole side.

essexanon · 12/01/2020 07:31

@PatricksRum neither does the Chicco looking at the pics.

But I don’t think it matters looking at the pics for both as the side isn’t seen when next to the bed:

My mum has bought it for me and to be honest, it looks great and it’s 1 less thing for me to buy, especially with money being tight.
She’s keeping it at her house Until nearer the time so I haven’t put it together or anything yet.

@essexanon
It does.
Just a difference I found whilst looking.
I liked that it was totally open.
Other than that probably just a cheaper version.

Did anyone buy this? We have and love it but confused about bedding for it? I've tried crib sheets but they're too small. What's everyone else done?

Stee1 · 09/02/2020 08:44

Have you tired the next to me crib sheets? 19.99 for 2 in argos... That's what I was hoping to use 😩

Stee1 · 09/02/2020 08:44

Tried*

Athene32 · 09/02/2020 09:34

Oooo no I'll have a look and hopefully they fit

nocheapfrills · 09/02/2020 20:38

Can anyone measure the mattress at all? My mum has bought this for me and also looking at sheets for it. The dimensions on the website/ box only say overall size and it's still at hers so I can't measure. From the overall dimensions, I think Asdas travel cot size might be best?

essexanon · 09/02/2020 20:43

I’ve sent them a message on Instagram and asked. Will let you know if they reply. My mum bought this for me too and it’s at hers so I can’t measure it but also need to know so I can find bedding xx

I've got this but it's still in the box even though I'm due next week! I will be putting it together either tomorrow or the next day so I'll measure the mattress and let you all know.

Athene32 · 09/02/2020 22:49

I've not measured yet! Was on today's job list but didn't get round to it but will do tomorrow and post. By the way when we put ours together we found the instructions in the box to be horrendous to follow and made no sense but the ones on the website much easier and managed to put it together no problems at all

Sleepycat91 · 09/02/2020 22:58

Ive got the lidl version which is exactly the same price but grey and i think it looks a bit nicer. Aside from colour though i think theyre almost identical. Get on really well, no problems with it all, sturdy, really good size so will last us well up until were ready to use a cotbed. Definitely recommend

LauraPalmersBodybag · 09/02/2020 23:07

I have a chicco and this looks pretty similar. The side doesn’t seem to zip down quite as far on mine but there’s not much in it. All the other features are the same. No idea on quality though.

Next2me’s can be very expensive but I bought mine secondhand from FB, stripped it, washed it at 60 degrees and bought a new mattress. Overall it cost less than £70 and the quality is very good. We bought a new one for our first baby but sold it as we had no space to store. The secondhand one has been just as good and I’ll sell when we’re done for nearly as much as I paid as its in perfect condition.

HTH.

Narcheska · 09/02/2020 23:16

We have a nex2me the only real difference is that the ALDI one doesn't appear to let you drop the side all the way down.
The next2me definitely does this (it hooks underneath) and also the next to me doesn't any side pieces left once the front panel is dropped down so it's one big open gap. I don't think it makes that much difference but might be a bit annoying navigating a baby past the corner bit to the gap

Sleepycat91 · 10/02/2020 11:04

Thats the only downside to my lidl one. Not hit baby on it but ive certainly hit my own head on it and the back of my arm putting her out.

GemmaJen · 10/02/2020 12:01

For sheets IKEA sell 2 crib sheets for less than £5 that fit the next 2 me 👍

Mamabear2020 · 10/02/2020 12:10

I've got this. I bought next to me sheets off amazon and they fit it well!

GrumpyHoonMain · 10/02/2020 12:15

Just to let you know if your newborn baby moves around the crib at night or sleeps on their side (both really common in breastfed babies from birth) then you can’t open the bedside bit if it leaves any sort of gap. I am basically using mine as an enclosed cot because nobody warned me newborns could move so much lol

Bumponboard2020 · 13/02/2020 17:53

Hi, I also bought this crib, don’t think mattress that comes with is great to be honest it’s a board of mdf and a couple of layers of 🤷🏻‍♀️. Otherwise it’s good just take into account that you may want to buy a new mattress. I wrote to the company online and they said mattress size is 85cmx50cm

BristolBones · 22/02/2020 14:02

We've just got this from Aldi in the sale for £60. Has anyone replaced the mattress? It seems quite thin. Where did you get it from if so and did you keep the wooden board on the existing mattress? Thanks!

Snoooaloop · 07/03/2020 09:26

I'm keen to know this too! Mattress looks flimsy.

Also can you guys confirm the next to me and ikea sheets fit?

Bumponboard2020 · 07/03/2020 11:18

agree mattress is quite thin. Bought a replacement here - babymattressesonline.co.uk/custom-made-mattress-to-fit-chicco-next and asked for measurements 85x50cm (size confirmed by my babiee via Instagram). Kept the board as mattress support. Really happy with mattress fits perfectly and much more support for the bub. Hope that helps
