When did you tell your DH/partner you were pregnant?

Hi all,
I am 99% sure I am pregnant, I got a faint pink line on an FRER yesterday so hoping for my BFP today or tomorrow.
My question is, when did you all tell your other halves?
I am in 2 minds... I want to tell him as soon as I get a positive digi, but another part of me wants to wait until I am well past 14dpo and chances of a chemical are smaller as won’t want to get his hopes up if something were to happen. We have been trying for a year and have never had a wiff of a BFP.
If it’s any relevance I am about 9dpo today...

He was there when I tested - we sat on the edge of the bath and watched and waited.

Mine knew I had missed a period and my chest was sore, so had an inkling before testing. I peed on the stick and he checked it 😂

Straight away. First time he was at work and I rang him all flustered with excitement. We later did a digital test together and he checked the results first.
2nd and 3rd time I didn't tell him that I even suspected that we were pregnant just bought tests, did them, brought the BFP test downstairs and handed it to him and said congratulations Daddy Smile

As soon as I took the test! I went upstairs to do it, saying "I think I might be pregnant. I'm just going to test..." Three minutes later I went back down the stairs crying, wielding the pissy stick, saying "I am!!"

He didn't know I was taking one but for some reason I had an urge to.

Ended up walking down saying 'this brand is known for false positives...' as truthfully I couldn't believe it was positive since it was our first cycle.

We then sat and stared at it for 20 minutes until he ushered me out the door telling me to get a different brand.

Waited two hours and there was no denying the word pregnant on the digital test!

Very surreal moment. We were definitely both shocked and it took a few days to sink in.

@NewNameGuy if they've been trying for a year OP's probably weed on loads of pregnancy tests just to have them come back negative, possibly expected the same

Straight away each time. But I have never tested early, so it was always a clear line, blazingly so in the case of my PFB! Grin

Told him I was pregnant. He kissed me on the head and told me he loved me.

Straight away each time. Last time he was giving our son lunch. I was a week overdue for my period anyway so I don’t think it was a great shock to him.

He sat in the bathroom while I peed on the stick and we looked at it together. Personally I would never wait to tell him, even if it was chemical, I would want us to deal with that together.

Immediately. If anything was to happen I'd want his support. As we had a previous mc. Fell the month after before af even came.. I wouldn't be able no not tell him

He knew I was testing - I dashed straight out of the bathroom with the test. It was such an immediate strong positive that I knew a few seconds before he did, but I couldn't have kept it from him any longer!

We'd agreed to do a test on the Wednesday (when I'd be three days late), but I had a feeling and decided to try on the Friday before – around 5.30pm and not expecting anything as it wasn't the first wee of the day. If nothing happened, I would have just waited until the Wednesday.

I got the BFP and had to wait anxiously for almost an hour before DH got home from work. Waited for him to put his bag down, take of his coat and go to the loo and then pulled the test out of a drawer and shoved it straight in his face! He was super excited but both anxious of course. We did another test together the next morning to make sure, and then again on the Wednesday Grin.

Really? I told him straight away and always would have done, but no need to be sad on his account at having missed me dipping a stick and waiting a few seconds, honestly

DH came home from work to find me sobbing with 10 pregnancy tests lying on the floor. I had been at the doctors eariler with what i thought was a kidney infection. He kept picking the tests up and asking who's they were. I can still see his shocked face.
We went for a scan the next day and they confirmed I was 5mths pregnant. We both left the hospital in total shock. Dd1 was 23!

Hi OP I waited 3 days had a couple of chemicals and that upset him so I tested got 2 Nd line on frer on the Thursday keep testing myself of course the Sunday morning our anniversary I did a digital and then told him don't think he would have believed it if it hadn't have said it in words that time

Immediately! We were together when we bought the tests and he knew I'd be testing the following morning as soon as I woke up. He was in bed waiting for me to come back into the room to tell him. There's no way I could have kept it a secret!
