I am 35 weeks and thinking about what food etc t I can have when baby arrives, almost like I am planning my last meal on death row.... Grin it needs to be planned and perfect. I am thinking steak (still mooing) red wine, gin, runny cheese (all) a HOT bath when recovered from birth that I can move in, laying face down on the Bed, COFFEE (All of it) and comfortable clothes....

Anyone want to share things to look forward to?

Cheese board and a huuuugggggeeeee glass of white wine .

Roseinbloom20 · 15/12/2019 19:39

Yes to pate! Also all the white wine and gin and more than one coffee a day. Also tiramisu with loads of extra amaretto 🤤 I've told DH after I've had the baby I want champagne and pate followed by a large portion of tiramisu with amaretto poured over the top.

I'm only 22 weeks but this is actually my second pregnancy in a year as we sadly lost our DD at 31 weeks in March this year so I was pregnant last Christmas too and only had 4 months of not being pregnant so I honestly feel like I've been pregnant for 20 years 😳 and I'm someone who really doesn't enjoy pregnancy because I do love my wine. I'm hoping next Christmas I'll have my lovely baby boy and can enjoy a few glasses of wine and amaretto (very Christmassy) 🥂🥃

Depends how insanely hot your hot baths are but they are not actually the same category as jacuzzis/sauna/hot tub etc unless you are constantly topping up the water as the temperature falls quickly. That advice is actually outdated. As long as you can get in without needing to inch your way in, it is fine as it does not raise your core temp.

I have had steak, coffee and baths during pregnanct..are these really to be avoided?

Emmalowri · 15/12/2019 20:53

Omg love this thread 😍 okay so I’m 31 weeks and I could kill for an ice cold glass of Prosecco, sleeping on my front, not dribbling wee 24/7 like a granny and SEX. We haven’t been able to properly have sex for SO LONG because my beautiful bump is huge and always in the way/uncomfortable 😂

Much love to all my fellow Baby Mamas! 💕

Ooh can I join in?! 31 weeks today Grin

Its my second baby so I have been more chilled with the giving up of things this time round. Still having the odd drink, a couple of cups of tea or instant coffee per day and steak! (Not too bloody though). I also ate loads of pate when in Spain at 20 weeks pregnant - forgot that wasn't allowed, oops!

I'm looking forward to having a PROPER coffee again. And drinking.. having a few glasses of wine and getting that nice fuzzy warm feeling rather than sipping a small glass over 4hrs!

A nice cold pint on a hot day (might have to wait a while for that one!

Soft and smelly cheese. The stinkier the better.

Oysters.. mmmmm Smile

Being able to sleep on my stomach again

Being able to go for a jog

Wearing jeans

Not having to think of my bump everytime I get on bus/tube/small space etc

I will however miss being able to stuff my face with chocolate and feel justified in doing it 😆

LolaLollypop · 15/12/2019 21:03

Oh yes.. And like the PP.. being able to cough/sneeze without having an accident Blush and hopefully at some point feeling sexy again! Rather than a waddling warthog, huffing and puffing (for all the wrong reasons).

A medium rare steak with truffle sauce, and a large charcuterie board with lots of soft cheese. Oh and a large glass of Rioja or Malbec. Making me so hungry even thinking about it!
