Second Trimester - who enjoyed who didn't?

Just a random question.... interested to hear how others found their second trimester? I'm 2 weeks away from being in the 3rd trimester and I have not enjoyed it as much as I'd have liked too.

Won't go to much into detail but just people at work being flakey, the travel to and from work, how bad my skin has been, how hungry I always am, I'm emotional about almost everything (dramatic I know lol!), I'm always exhausted and I hope the next 15 weeks go by quickly Grin

@ejmay90 hahaha I'm at that point now where I'm like I have a shit load to lose as I really have been good to myself and allowed the chocolate n crisps. I didn't eat either pre pregnancy due to meal prepping and being strict with diet! We can do this 😂😂

@R2D2abc I'm sorry to hear about all that! I'm the exact same, I feel like I'm so snippy and horrible to people at work, especially my boss as I'm a PA so really only deal with him daily and I'm so short tempered with stuff - which really isn't like me. We had a great relationship working together until now I feel like he avoids me which is really shit. Love your last paragraph, my mum keeps telling me I should enjoy it but I really amnt enjoying pregnancy at all, but I really do love feeling my baby girl roll around and kick away inside me - I just know I already love her soooo much and that's how I know this journey is worth it x

Oh, I did, every time. The second trimester in each of my pregnancies are the only times in my life I genuinely liked my body, was happy with it, even proud of it, felt right in it.

ejmay90 · 28/11/2019 17:45

@nicannie haha me too!
Although I had the odd bit of chocolate before as my other half works for Mars chocolate so we can be bad at times lol!

Second trimester was a breath of fresh air for me after the moody, nauseous, tired, crazy mess I was in the first. Felt basically normal if not a bit emotional and could actually stand the sight of my partner 😂 Entering the third now though and the insomnia and endless weeing is trying my patience.

brightbird · 28/11/2019 20:48

Nearly in the third myself... Quite liking the second what with the movements and the gradual acquisition of cute baby things, but since my first trimester was amazing it isn't my fave. (first trimester - totally well, energetic, enjoying the newness. Second trimester, occasional insomnia, having to adjust to new cumbersome shape and weight, having to get clothes, and not all of the acquisition is cute things. Plus a minor bug or two though less than average for autumn term)

brightbird · 28/11/2019 20:49

Must admit though that I feel lucky about how pregnancy has treated me thus far. Perhaps it's saving up for the third!

Aneley · 29/11/2019 05:41

In hindsight, the second trimester has been a breeze... but only compared to my third. If I knew what will hit when I reached 30+w, I would have enjoyed it way more. As it was, I was complaining about not having the 'glow' (I was shiny instead :) ), being tired, commute to work was exhausting me (haha, from this point of view which redefined what exhaustion means) and my feet swelling in the summer.

I’ve started gaining weight in my second trimester and am the heaviest I’ve been in years. I’m feeling fat and unattractive and still don’t have a proper bump, so just feel a bit “ugh”, really! I still get nauseous if I don’t eat regularly but it’s definitely better than the first trimester was.

nicannie · 29/11/2019 10:41

@icannotremember that's amazing! So glad another positive message

@Aneley I'm glad I'm not having a summer during pregnancy. That would probs tip me over the edge!!! Hope your 3rd flies now that it's here
