Hi there, I just wanted to share my recent experience - I found out I was pregnant this summer and went for an early scan, which showed an irregular shaped sac (jagged around the edges) - I was also measuring 2 weeks behind and there was no heartbeat (which would have been expected as I should have been about 7 weeks). The doctor was concerned at the time and warned me to expect the worst. The following week I was rescanned and the sac was a regular shape and had grown, which they said looked positive, but there was still no heartbeat. Very sadly the following week with no heartbeat they confirmed a missed miscarriage.
I really hope that this is not the case for you, but wanted to share because you asked about the irregular sac and the concerns that the consultants I saw raised. I have seen someone else post on here who had an irregular sac that continued to be a healthy pregnancy/baby, so there can be good news, and the fact that you could see a heartbeat is good too. Was it a strong heartbeat?
I also read some clinical studies online when I was researching about irregular sacs, but they weren't definitive (or were even contradictory) about any association between irregular sacs and loss of babies, I will try and find the links:

I found for me that overall, I had to just focus on what was happening to me and take each day and week at a time, as statistics and others' stories can say one thing and if you're experiencing something completely different that can be really hard. I really hope your EPU/hospital take good care of you and give you the time and reassurance that you need, and I really hope that you do continue to have a healthy pregnancy.
