I’m 16 weeks pregnant and have the tiniest bump - it just looks like I’ve had a big lunch to be honest. All my clothes still fit and you would not know I was pregnant by looking at me!

At what point did you get an unmistakable bump in your first pregnancy?

Days before my due date I had people questioning whether I was really pregnant, they just couldn't believe it as I looked pretty much normal in clothes. Had to have a lot of growth scans but DS came out bang on the 50th centile. I have a long torso and also pre pregnancy had stomach muscles of steel.

And yes the comments are hurtful. I had a medical doctor at work randomly ask if I was sure my baby was developing properly in the middle of a meeting.

Mamabear1988 · 19/11/2019 06:23

About 32 weeks

Dinosauraddict · 19/11/2019 06:27

14 weeks Blush I'm now 24 weeks and someone told me the other day that I'm bigger than their DD was just before she gave birth... I really appreciated that...

MintyT · 19/11/2019 07:08

I had nothing until about 2 weeks before due, with my second I was at the pool with a month to go met old friends and no one knew I was disappointed and proud at the same time

JustMe9 · 19/11/2019 07:15

About 26-28weeks

BeanBag7 · 19/11/2019 07:28

My first comment from a stranger was 28 weeks but looking back at photos it still wasn't that noticeable. I was wearing maternity jeans before that for comfort but didnt buy maternity tops etc until about 30 weeks.

Bubblysqueak · 19/11/2019 08:23

Untill about 30 weeks o just looked a bit fat as I was carrying transverse. As soon as he turned I was huge .

Maybbabi · 19/11/2019 08:28

My bump popped out in week 16 Smile

NemophilistRebel · 19/11/2019 08:42

First pregnancy I didn’t have a noticeable bump at 6 months and unfortunately lost the baby.

2nd pregnancy (first to term) I showed really early, I grew out of my clothes at 12 weeks but I had an enormous appetite.
So not really baby at all I guess.

GAW19 · 19/11/2019 09:31

Mine was obvious at 26 weeks then I looked full term by 33 weeks. I gave birth to a 8lb 10oz baby at 38 weeks Smile

Smellybluecheese · 19/11/2019 09:37

About 6 months before I started to show. I had no bump at all at 20 week scan and remember feeling disappointed. Enormous boobs from the off though.

emiliet123 · 19/11/2019 15:29

I’m at 14+4 now and no obvious bump ☹️ I can see it when I’m nekkeddd, and sometimes I can pop a jeans button if I take a ridiculously deep breath!
I really want a bump, but somebody on here just mentioned they didn’t have a huge bump and therefore no stretch marks so also keeping my fingers crossed for that! 🤣
Just wishing it was obvious enough so that I’m automatically offered a seat on the tram... my feet hurt and I’m SO tired!

Aneley · 19/11/2019 16:45

A little bump at 16w, like you. More noticeable 19-20w.

brightbird · 19/11/2019 16:59

I'm 25+4 now and last wednesday was the first time someone asked me straight out - person I don't know well but has seen me around (a cleaner at work).
I personally felt like I was huge at 12 weeks but honestly that was obvious to me alone! Basically if someone saw me naked and knew what I normally looked like they might tell... husband could just about. Just bigger around the waist than ever before, so felt huge! Knew I was being a bit ridiculous with that though!
It was only around 22 weeks or so that I started having a bump that was apparent all the time. It is always much smaller in the morning compared to the evening. And around then that bump began to get in the way a bit, when getting on my bike for instance.
If I am wearing a baggyish top it still isn't obvious to strangers I would say.

CornishMaid1 · 19/11/2019 17:07

I was 22+4. The day before my coat felt a bit tighter. The next morning I woke up and there was a noticeable bump.

Being a bigger woman, I still do feel at 24 weeks that people may still just be assuming I've put on weight and just happen to carry it on my stomach!

MrsH497 · 19/11/2019 17:16

I'm 14+2 and got a little bump I notice it and people who know not sure anyone else would say I had a bump

DeRigueurMortis · 20/11/2019 23:53

In relation to stretch marks, as per my post above I didn't look pregnant until the six month mark and the did pretty much overnight.

I didn't get any stretch marks.

I'm not convinced it was because I showed late (it would seem to me it's the other way round, insofar rapid bump acquisition would be more likely to create stretch marks).

A pregnant friend at the time was similar in that she showed very late but got loads of marks very quickly having previously had none.

On that front I think it's simply down to genetics.

Bol87 · 21/11/2019 08:01

About 20 weeks for me, helpfully tied in with Christmas so when I went back to work in January, I didn’t just look like I’d eaten too much 😂

rosieposies · 21/11/2019 09:18

20 weeks here - but it was still tiny in the mornings and then I'd be huge by bedtime

Falafel19 · 21/11/2019 10:21

28-30 weeks before acquaintances noticed, by 35 weeks I was then a swollen mess with pre-eclampsia so it escalated quickly Grin

tacosplease · 21/11/2019 10:29

Thanks for the replies! Meghan Markle was pregnant at exactly the same time as me but a year earlier. I found this photo of her in early December and her bump was huge! I can't imagine that I'll be showing anything like that in just two weeks time.

I just want to look pregnant!

24 weeks. I went to Majorca in my usual clothes and spent the whole week in the same maxi dress as overnight nothing fitted.

I haven't needed maternity clothes until at least 18 weeks at the earliest and that we with DC4

BernardsarenotalwaysSaints · 21/11/2019 10:37

In the February & baby came mid March (although was due early April). We had a house viewing when I was 36 weeks (exactly a week before dc1 was born) & the EA turned to me when we said I was due in 4 weeks & said “I did think Colleague had said you were quite pregnant, then I saw you & just thought you were still carrying Christmas weight” I’ve got a long torso & good abdo muscles so I think that helped. I didn’t wear maternity clothes until the February either, before that it was still normal jeans with a hair elastic. Even with dc5 no one knew I was pregnant until late April as my bump hadn’t been visible under my winter coat.

neonglow · 21/11/2019 10:39

@tacosplease everyone is different- if you look at pictures of duchess of Cambridge at 4/5 months pregnant she wasn’t showing at all
