Has anybody chose not to have this. I'm 35 weeks pregnant and haven't had it as am still unsure about it. Haven't had the flu vaccine either.

"Perhaps it is very rare nowadays that babies die"

Not as rare as you might think.

14 babies under 3 months old died in Britain in 2012.

With the roll-out of the vaccination programmme, this fell to 18 for 2013-16, and none in 2017.

This one isn't really about the herd (the baby jabs do that) It's solely for the benefit of your baby until old enough for those jabs

“anyways we both got whooping cough and did the Suzanne Humphreys Vitamin C protocol combined with colloidal silver and within 24 hours the coughing stopped. “

Can you tell me how your diagnosis of whooping cough was confirmed? I desperately want you to be right and to have discovered something amazing!

^^my comment was to aunaturelmother

Just so everyone knows, @ChilledBee is right and the NHS website is wrong about the flu vaccine proving protection to the baby. Hmm

Is the flu vaccine safe in pregnancy?

Yes. Studies have shown that it's safe to have the flu vaccine during any stage of pregnancy, from the first few weeks up to your expected due date.

Women who have had the flu vaccine while pregnant also pass some protection on to their babies, which lasts for the first few months of their lives.

I have noticed a couple of posts from people concerned about vaccines in the last couple of days....

SuziGeo · 06/11/2019 18:12

I live in France and they don't give immunisations to pregnant women here, except flu vaccine. They couldn't give me a reason why when I specifically asked about whooping cough. Conversely, they then have a very aggressive compulsory vaccination schedule for babies and children. So it's all quite confusing.

I very much doubt it Suzanne Humphries is well known for her duck impressionsGrin

MrsSiriusBlack1 · 06/11/2019 18:23

Another of these threads, read the info the doctor or midwife gives you! Get vaccinated and protect your child and yourself.

Cornflakesncake · 06/11/2019 18:24

OP what will happen if you have to have an epidural or anything intravenously in your hand during child birth? An injection is nothing compared to the realities of birth.

Cornflakesncake · 06/11/2019 18:25

Also why is your anxiety not directed more towards the health of your baby?

JenniR29 · 06/11/2019 18:36

anyways we both got whooping cough and did the Suzanne Humphreys Vitamin C protocol combined with colloidal silver and within 24 hours the coughing stopped.

Is this a joke?! I want it so badly to be a joke.

Celebelly · 06/11/2019 18:40

What's with all the anti-vaxxers on here recently? Hmm Shame yesterday's thread got pulled. I particularly enjoyed the shocking revelation that Prince Charles hadn't been vaccinated for measles... with a vaccine that wasn't introduced until more than 10 years later. Just about sums up the average level of research and intellect. I enjoyed telling my DP about that one Grin

CosmoK · 06/11/2019 18:42

aunaturalmama could you share those peer reviewed journals please?

JenniR29 · 06/11/2019 18:46

@Celebelly I had to report that thread but I did love the anti-vaxxers exposing their own stupidity on it.

ilovemykids5 · 06/11/2019 19:07

To all of you that think I am an antivaxxer. I am not. I was just worried about harming the baby with the jab.
But I had both the jabs yesterday.

Mylittlerainbow · 06/11/2019 19:09

Thank god for this post. I'm 24 weeks pregnant and haven't been offered these jabs so totally forgot I need to get them booked!

This might be really ignorant of me, but I know flu jab is a yearly thing, but does the whooping cough vaccine have a 'shelf life'?... I was pregnant this time last year and had my whooping cough injection and flu jab, then a couple of weeks later lost the baby (not blaming the vaccines before anyone gets the wrong idea)... is the vaccine like the mmr where you are immune for a few years, or will I need it again? Wondering if that's why it hasn't been mentioned at any of the umpteen midwife/consultant/clinic appointments I've had.

SpringFan · 06/11/2019 19:16

@Aunaturalmama
Can you give links to the peer reviewed articles proving vaccination makes you more suceptable to whooping cough please?

JenniR29 · 06/11/2019 19:18

But I had both the jabs yesterday.

Nice one OP! Hope all goes well.

JenniR29 · 06/11/2019 19:21

‘but does the whooping cough vaccine have a 'shelf life'?... I was pregnant this time last year and had my whooping cough injection and flu jab’

No you need it again. I had two kids in quick succession and asked the consultant this very question. Flu is a different vaccine against a predicted strain every year so you need that too.

womanaf · 06/11/2019 19:22

Ah so 1 baby that a MN user might know(!) over the last 3 years.
I have never read anything so casually callous in my life.

MarchingAnts · 06/11/2019 19:22

Pregnancy is a very anxious time OP, so many things to think about, but glad too hear from your recent post that you made the right decision in the end. It's so much better than taking such a massive risk in the alternative.

Mylittlerainbow · 06/11/2019 19:23

Bugger, best get them both booked ASAP then, thanks Jenni

Runmybathforme · 06/11/2019 19:26

If you don’t want anything to happen to your baby, have the vaccines.

JenniR29 · 06/11/2019 19:27

No worries Rainbow, hope all goes well with the pregnancy and birth.

PsychosonicCindy · 06/11/2019 19:27

I just wanted to add my two pennorth that the whooping cough vaccine really really made my arm hurt for about a week...that's it
