Baby wipes?!

Just wondering..
I need to get some more nappies and wipes in ready for when little one arrives. What brand wipes did people use on their newborns?
I was going to get water wipes but they're quite pricey! Any suggestions?!?

@PatricksRum I'm actually one of those horrendously boring consistent do-gooders that doesn't eat meat either. Literally sitting in a cave wearing/eating leaves and writing this by candlelight 👀

Cotton will & warm water in the early weeks. Then water wipes / pampers sensitive.

Going back to the Cheeky Wipes suggestion,y set just arrived yesterday and they are so soft (we picked Bamboo flannel). They come with two small bags for out and about: clean (which you can put in already damp or wet while out - I may do the latter and keep a small spray bottle in the changing bag) and dirty which has a zipped in mesh bag you can remove to shove in the machine when you get home - either way, no need for boxes in a changing bag.

If anyone is thinking of getting a starter pack feel free to PM me as I have a referral code which will give you 15% off an order over £40 🙂

How do you clean reuseable wipes? That's what's put me off going for them so far... soon to be FTM here!

Browniee · 26/10/2019 00:01

@tigerfeets You pop them in the washing machine (non bio laundry stuff but no fabric softener) - you can dry them or use them wet from the machine - and rewet them in the tub ready to go again!

Thanks Browniee Smile

So no need to soak them first or scrub them - just straight in the wash?**

Sorry for the Qs - I've not got much experience of nappy changes!

Water wipes are the only ones that are that pure - the others if you read the ingredients aren't at all. I used Pampers Aqua to get spilled curry off my wall and they worked perfectly Hmm I also licked one and it didn't taste of water at all.

Weathergirl1 · 26/10/2019 10:23

@tigerfeets you might need to do a rinse cycle first if there are any solids.

Browniee · 26/10/2019 17:58

@tigerfeets it depends how old your baby is and what the poo is like - as @Weathergirl1 says you might want to do a rinse cycle first for more solid poops! My baby is only just starting to wean onto solids so the poop is still runny at the moment - I just wash them as they are.
I use reusable nappies too so they all go in a mesh bag inside a bucket with a lid on it and I just take out the mesh bag and put that in the wash (so no need to soak first or touch them!). Usually wash every 3 days tops or there is a bit of an ammonia odour! In summer time / sunny winter days if you can hang them outside the sun bleaches any colour off them too!

Thank you both for the advice Smile
