Hi all.
As the title says I'm a first time mum looking for some buddies. I'm 7+2 and due next May.

I've been on some of the other chats but they've gotten so big I can't keep up with everyone and just looking for a small group of lovely ladies that I can actually get to know!

Though I'm an introvert at heart, I'm also very sociable day to day I promise! Anyone else looking for some buddies feel free to say hello Smile

Hello hun congrats on pregnancy

HopefulHun · 26/09/2019 07:01

Hi @strawberrysundayss Congratulations firstly Smile

I'm a first timer too, I'm only 4+6 and have no pregnant friends or friends with children! So I would love to join your thread.

How are you feeling?

KateK00 · 26/09/2019 10:25

Hi OP Smile
I have a 1 year old and a 3 month old and not many mum friends so I’d love to join this little thread. Congrats on your pregnancy xx

strawberrysundayss · 26/09/2019 11:05

@kellyw1989 thank you very much!

@HopefulHun hi! Congratulations to you too! So exciting isn't it. I have a couple friends with children but they don't live nearby unfortunately.

I'm doing ok, just mainly dealing with terrible exhaustion and living off take away 🙈😂

How about you? How are you feeling? Were you ttc or was it a surprise?

OP posts:
strawberrysundayss · 26/09/2019 11:07

Hello @KateK00 welcome and congrats on your lovely two!

Do you have boys or girls or one of each? How are you managing being a new mum of 2?

moodybum · 26/09/2019 11:17

Hi, I'm a first time mum too, I've always found it easier to socialise with guys as I'm not very girly and being the youngest of my family have never spent much time around babies, so although my son is 20m now, I still feel like a complete newbie most of the time. So I'd love to be part of your group, I'm an introvert too until I get to know someone.

emmab96 · 26/09/2019 11:38

Hello, First time mum too currently 15 + 5 weeks pregnant how's everyone feeling with pregnancy/ being a mummy already I'm finding work very stressful at the moment but just trying to stay positive!

KateK00 · 26/09/2019 12:39

@strawberrysundayss I have one of each and I love it, even if it is exhausting! Eldest has an ongoing illness which can be difficult to deal with at times but overall we’re doing okay.
Are you planning to find out what you’re having? Xx

HopefulHun · 26/09/2019 12:44

@strawberrysundayss

Thank you! 😊 it is soo exciting but also scary isn't it, I always randomly say to myself.. omg I'm actually pregnant!

Oh, yeah I'm the same, so tired. But I'm okay thank you, don't feel massively different this early apart from my boobs are really sore still.

We tried and conceived in the second month, so we're really really lucky. What about you?

MountAbora · 26/09/2019 13:38

Hello @strawberrysundayss
I am also pregnant with my first, a little behind you at 6+1 and also due in May.
I’m finding it difficult to know what is ‘normal’ and so panicking at every little ache and pain!! So some people to talk to about it would be great 😊

Boo2134 · 26/09/2019 18:29

@strawberrysundayss
Hey, I'm a bit further than the majority on here but I would love to make some baby mama friends x

strawberrysundayss · 26/09/2019 19:52

@moodybum hello lovely and congrats on your little boy! It must feel like old news now.
How have you found the first almost 2 years of motherhood?

OP posts:
strawberrysundayss · 26/09/2019 19:53

@KateK00 you're literally living my dream haha I hope to have one of each. I was actually hoping for twins but it wasn't to be.

I'm definitely going to find out. I don't have that kind of patience I have no idea how other people do it! Did you find out?

OP posts:
strawberrysundayss · 26/09/2019 19:55

@HopefulHun aw that's great! Yes same as you we conceived on third go we were so shocked it happened so fast. Was fully prepared to spend the best part of a year ttc.

Have you told many people? It's so hard keeping it to myself when I want to tell anyone that'll listen lol.

Are you reading any books? I got "how to grow a baby and push it out" and have really enjoyed that

OP posts:
strawberrysundayss · 26/09/2019 19:57

@MountAbora hello! Congrats to you!!
I know what you mean about knowing what's normal. I ended up in epu for early scan as had some pain and got worried but all was well and was so lovely to see a little heart beat going. I'm going "window" shopping this weekend with a friend and can't wait to go full baby mode 😂😂

How've you found the first few weeks symptoms wise?

OP posts:
strawberrysundayss · 26/09/2019 19:58

@Boo2134 hello welcome to the club!
How far along are you? How have you found your pregnancy?

OP posts:
moodybum · 26/09/2019 20:00

@strawberrysundayss thank you very much, he was waited for for 3 years so it never gets old lol! The first year was hard for me, I've been around and looked after toddlers, but not babies, so I was really anxious about doing it all right. My hubby had done it a decade before, so he was a cross between quietly confident and all-new-because - I've - forgotten. Still all new now, but he amazes me every day and I really love it.

I also loved being pregnant, one of the lucky ones I guess, it was tiring, painful at times and a complete whirlwind but it was an amazing adventure. How are you feeling?

Boo2134 · 26/09/2019 20:14

@strawberrysundayss
I'm currently 19 weeks+5 days.. And got a lot of anxiety, and I really can't wait for my next scan, I just want to see baby again... How are you finding it? X

strawberrysundayss · 26/09/2019 20:31

@moodybum ah wow he must have been such a great joy after your wait double congratulations!!

Sounds like you had a lovely pregnancy. For me so far it's been nausea and exhaustion. Don't enjoy food and just want to nap all day. Can't wait for the second trimester.

I can only imagine how much there must be to learn and to worry about. Do you feel like you've got more of a hang of it now? To be honest right now I can't think past the delivery that's my main concern at the moment 🙈

OP posts:
strawberrysundayss · 26/09/2019 20:35

@Boo2134 there's so much to be concerned about isn't there. Do you normally get some anxiety or is it all around the pregnancy.
At least shouldn't be too long till next scan. Are you going to find out the gender?
I'm generally ok thanks for asking, just really exhausted and endless nausea.
Have you had many symptoms?

OP posts:
KateK00 · 26/09/2019 20:39

@strawberrysundayss haha you’re welcome to borrow my 2 for a few days if you want! Grin
Yes I found out with both of them, I’m too impatient as well! What are you hoping for? Smile

moodybum · 26/09/2019 20:58

@strawberrysundayss lol, when I said I was lucky, I guess I just mean the way I was able to see it, my outlook. I had an eventful one, I have crohns and needed minor surgeries at 16 weeks and 25 weeks. I also had to go off my meds for the last trimester, got pre-eclampsia, had a planned but technically emergency c-section at 36+5 and surprised everyone with a tiny tiny Bubba lol.

But I have always been unique, and my paths are never straight forward. But I loved every movement, kick, just because I never thought it would happen.

I had the nausea cos of smells, the hips that wouldn't support me near the end, I drank gaviscon so regularly I carried round a litre bottle in my bag.

But honestly, you can be miserable at times, but the excitement carries you through.

And no, I definitely don't feel like I got it down, I just realised no one does :)

strawberrysundayss · 26/09/2019 21:46

@KateK00 I don't mind to be honest! My husband is desperate for a boy but I would be happy with either I think. Just excited to have a baby. I've always absolutely loved kids and thought I would have had done by now but glad to finally get going!
I say that now but imagine I'll be wishing for my child free days this time next year!

What has been the best bit for you? Do you think you've gotten into a good routine?

OP posts:
strawberrysundayss · 26/09/2019 21:52

@moodybum oh my gosh you're my new role model I love your attitude!!
It's highlighted to me something I already knew about myself which is that I've always been the glass half empty type person but I'm working on changing my perspective! I'm truly so grateful to be pregnant and to have a loving DH to share the journey with.

How is your Crohns now? What did you find the hardest about the first year?
