Bleeding in week 4-5 of pregnancy

I am 5 weeks pregnant and have been bleeding for 6 days. It’s pretty frequent but not consistent. Sometimes it’s bright red fresh blood, sometimes old brown blood and sometimes it’s barely there, just a hint. Even when it’s been heavier red blood it’s hasn’t been heavy enough for me to use a sanitary pad. I have mild stomach cramps on and off. I’ve been to two doctors and they’ve said it could just be completely harmless, I’m booked in for a scan next week as well, but I’m making myself ill with anxiety. Any reassurance/similar experiences would be welcome.

@Bettie2192 awww I'm so so sorry lovely, How are you feeling? Do you have support around you? Xx

I’m really sorry to read your sad stories. I hope you’re both pulling through. I have also been spotting with occasional small amounts of blood for a week now. I don’t have any cramping. I hope for the best but I have had an MC before at 6 weeks under similar circumstances. I’m 4 wks now and have a scan booked at 6 wks. X

Thank you all for your sympathy, I’m really sad but I feel ready to just move on now, it’s horrible that I’m still bleeding but I’m having some cramps right now so kinda hoping it’ll all be over soon. I found out at work and my colleague who knew I was pregnant was really lovely, I went home early and my husband was home not long after so we’re together now (he was very upset and said he hated how I was the one who had to go through this physically and he can’t do anything). We’ve decided not to tell anyone else as we don’t want to upset our families. I might tell a close friend who I know has been through this herself but I haven’t decided yet. At least I know I am fertile and I can get pregnant because that has always been one of my biggest fears. We will keep trying, there’s no doubt in either of our minds that this is something we really want.

Hey @Bettie2192 so sorry again. It’s so sad- I know how it feels. It is hard for our men too, because they are completely powerless, aren’t they?
Re telling your family... you must do what’s right for your situation, but I can say with certainty that your family would pull through for sure and they probably would want to know so they can support you. I hadn’t told my Mum I was pregnant and just told her I had had the MC and she was a bit put out I hadn’t told her about the pregnancy before the MC! But my mum likes to be involved as much as poss.
Hope you’re both doing ok and just having some quiet time. When I had my MC the bleeding only lasted a period’s worth, but then the next period was a bit heavier than normal. Hope it goes easy on you.
S x

Sorry to hear about this Bettie2192 - wishing you all the best going forward.

@Wishful30 how you feeling today? I'm feeling really hopeless, symptoms all but disappeared, utterly convinced it's bad news. Great to hear so many good outcomes but hard not to think I'll be the 1 in 4 😞

Hi there

I’m nearly 6 weeks pregnant. I had a miscarriage 3 years ago and been trying to conceive since then and it finally happened. All was well for the until I had brown spotting in week 4 on my pad. Then inconsistent days of fresh blood when I wiped. It would be on and off. Had a gap of 2-3 before I bled again. Now I’m getting red blood and small clots when I wipe but not flowing and filling the pad. Also I have been advised by the doctor to wait it out and do another pregnancy test in 2 days. Also I have noticed my breasts have gotten less sore. Any advice or information would be much appreciated as I am really scared.

Hi - I know this has been a long while since you posted this but was wondering how things turned out for you. I'm on exactly the same path and worrying about an ectopic
