My list is soooo long, but I’ll start:

  • the inside of my handbag
  • loose change
  • zips, chains or anything metallic
  • cling film, especially if it’s picked up the inside of the bag smell
  • stale coffee

Any more for any more?

Onions! I usually loved them but if they were cooking it would make me want to hurl (but they were fine when fully cooked and I could eat them no problem) my dh was cooking them one eve and I'd left my jacket near the kitchen. Next day at work I smelt the cooking onion smell from my jacket and felt so ill.
Also mints Confused

When I was pregnant, the smell of my husband would make me heave Blush not deodorant or anything, just his normal smell. It was vile and I still have a smell memory of it Grin

ShirleyPhallus · 10/09/2019 18:26

Oh god @popehilarious that makes me want to hurl just reading it. The plasticky smell of the inside of Sainsbury’s carrier bags does it for me, as well as plastic sandwich bags and cling film. Bleugh 😷

Perfume and aftershave was a real issue for me when I was pregnant. Haggis (I live in Scotland) and to this day, the smell of Haggis still makes me nauseous. Meat of any kind. And my cats breath. Never bothered me before, or after, but when he yawned, I literally gagged.

OhamIreally · 10/09/2019 18:56

Deodorant did it for me - used to have to make a run for the loo.

mummytobe2020 · 10/09/2019 20:05
  • chicken on the bone
  • any kind of meat
  • eggs
  • garlic smell and taste
  • going into the bathroom after someone has brushed their teeth or sprayed deodorant
  • fish
  • my husband eating or people in general eating loudly and a bit too disgustingly
  • food on TV/ cooking on TV
  • people saying ' let's go out for a meal ', as food makes me feel ill- especially after I eat
  • rooms that have no air ( constantly opening windows )
  • loud noises, people talking really loudly
  • when I feel hot, when it's too hot outside

Just a few I can think of right now.

Wooden chopping boards Grin
Still to this day (22years later) !!!

Millie2013 · 10/09/2019 20:09

Bananas
Bins
Anything vanilla scented (gave me a headache too)
I still react to them all, 7 years later🤢

Theoverstretchedmultitasker · 10/09/2019 20:13

Water from a plastic bottle; DH after he'd decided to eat his body weight in garlic; the bugaboo cameleon, Easter eggs with bits in them. God, I do not miss this part of pregnancy!

Theoverstretchedmultitasker · 10/09/2019 20:15

I feel sick now and DC is one next week!

Emmapeeler · 10/09/2019 20:23

@Moonstone12 for me it was the theme tune to Humpf Grin Had to give the DVD to charity. I don’t think I could watch it even now, and DC2 is six...

Pinkblueberry · 10/09/2019 20:26

HD tv - we got an amazing new tv just before I got pregnant with DS and then I couldn’t watch anything in HD for months because it made me nauseous, we might as well have had an old box telly for that time.

ShirleyPhallus · 10/09/2019 20:48

Oh yeah, plastic water bottles that have been through the dishwasher

Also the reusable coffee cups that have been through the dishwasher. In fact, any plastic that picks up that horrible smell

This thread has made me smile after an evening of sobbing on my husband because “I FEEL SO SICK”
7+4
Can’t wait to come out the other side of this sicky misery!!

dev86 · 18/10/2019 20:55

The smell of the inside of my house 🤮
Fresh coffee smell like espresso
Friday night dinner TV series - can’t bear it now because of watching it around week 10/11
The books I was reading when feeling sick - can’t even look at them never mind finish them
Plastic water bottles
My husband’s breath 🤢
Food cooking smells 🤮

Justasconfusedwithnumber2 · 18/10/2019 21:39

The smell of the fridge.
The smell of the dishwasher after a cycle.
The smell of my toddler sons bedroom in the morning.
Sausages (all aspects).

Randomly though, I now like things I didn't before, like eggs. Both pregnancies I have eaten tonnes of eggy things but hate them for the rest of the time Confused

Justasconfusedwithnumber2 · 18/10/2019 21:39

Oh and I hate the smell of my husbands toothpaste

Accountant222 · 18/10/2019 21:46

I couldn't drink out of a brown cup, wtf ?

LadyMonicaBaddingham · 18/10/2019 21:53

Fanta. It REALLY turned my stomach, I could tell if someone had drunk it recently, even the thought of it was enough after a while

Lemonysherbet · 19/10/2019 07:05

Seeing a slug on the pavement

LouH1981 · 19/10/2019 07:20

When I was 8 weeks pregnant with DS1 we went to Marbella. It was the height of my morning sickness. The locals light a lot of BBQ’s on the beach to cook fish so the smell of smoke made me heave.
Am 35 weeks with DC2 and had to ban hubby from lighting garden fires/bbq’s (much to his disappointment!)
Also a certain soap that I’d been using.
The smell of the new bookcase we put in our bedroom 🤢🤢🤢🤢

Nogodsnomasters · 19/10/2019 07:39

Bath bombs. The bin. Other people's burps, just the noise not even the smell. Ham. Popcorn. The smell of the heating being on.

PetaO · 19/10/2019 07:44

Cleaning my teeth....I gag every time and sometimes it makes me actually sick....which defeats the point, annoyingly... 😭

Aneley · 19/10/2019 07:44

Months 2-4:

  • Texture of broccoli and brussels sprouts
  • smell of ground beef cooking (didn't bother me fully cooked as much)
  • scrolling down documents on my computer

31w now and still can't stand broccoli and sprouts

sao81 · 19/10/2019 20:45

I probably sound mad, but fresh air 🤦‍♀️ whenever i first get out the car or office to walk to/from work the air makes me bork to the point i near vomit in the street! Also tomatoes and beef monster munch (my toddlers current favourites)
