I can't wait to buy myself some gorgeous underwear, something definitely not made out of cotton or with clasps to allow access to boobs unless it's for play () I've been browsing underwear catalogues like a pervy old man!!! It'll be my Christmas treat to myself and I WILL look damn good (even if I haven't lost all the weight)

What are you going to treat yourself to (nothing for the baby or house mind, it's got to be something just for you, even if it's just a fantasy and you can't really afford it - we can dream can't we?)

champagne!!!

WinkyGirl · 03/08/2007 20:24

My Mum and I are going to our local Loch Fyne restaurant and eating lobster. Never had it before and I LOVE shellfish.

But the champagne and the underwear fest sound nice too...

PigeonPie · 03/08/2007 20:24

I'm much more basic - a Gin and Tonic (has to be Bombay Saphire!) and pate on toast!

jemima78 · 03/08/2007 20:55

I am planning a nice, expensive bottle of red and some lovely stinky cheese from my lovely local deli, have been practically dribbling everytime I walk past for the last 8 1/2 months!! Will prob only have one glass and be under the table tho!

Oh ,and some very non- practical undies is a great idea(altho prob in a rather larger size than my usuals!)

JayJ · 03/08/2007 22:14

I am the same as Jemima78, a nice bottle of Red Wine and lots of Brie.

Can't wait but doubt I will have much more than a glass or 2 before I fall asleep in my Brie due to sleep deprivation caused by a new born!

Ooooh, I'm with JayJ and Jemima, except my fantasy treat would be a tasting menu of all the lovely nonos during pregnancy:

Aperatif: Glass of Billecart Salmon Rose champagne

Amuse: Very soft boiled egg with truffle shavings

Starter: Something with foie gras, served with a glass of sauterne

Pre-Main: Tuna Belly carpaccio with a citrus vinagrette, served with another glass of champagne

Main: Wonderfully seared outside but bloody inside bone-in rib-eye steak, served with a nice glass of aged burgundy

Cheese course: Room temperature unpasturized blue cheese served with a lightly chilled glass of tawny port

Dessert: Raspberry trifle (ok, I can eat that now, but I like trifle), served with a double espresso

Post-Dessert: Bailys on the rocks served with chocolate petit fours.

Anybody care to join me?

bananabump · 03/08/2007 22:29

Am I the only one who has been enjoying the massive "no means no" pants?

My first treat is going to something I've been lusting after for about 7 long months....a night on my stomach. God I detest lying on my left side.

Closely followed by lots of guilt free chilled german white wine.

Due date tomorrow, not long to go!!!

berolina · 03/08/2007 22:34

Champagne. Goat's cheese. A soft boiled egg. The treat I most crave - peanut butter on soft sticky white bread - won't be happening, though , I'll be bf and allergies in the family

PurpleLostPrincess · 03/08/2007 22:49

Loads of peanuts and the biggest thing I'm looking forward to which is completely free is...

SLEEPING ON MY TUMMYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!

I simply can't wait to get nice and comfy on my tummy - can't you tell!?

Oh, and a gooey runny fried egg sandwich followed by a Mr Whippy ice-cream with nuts and sauce!!

((waves at MrsMar!!))

bananabump · 03/08/2007 22:52

Oops, I eat peanut butter almost every day... oh well!

Ceolas · 03/08/2007 22:53

Hate to put a spanner in the works of the tummy sleepers (I am one too), but have you thought about how uncomfortable rock-hard boobs can be to sleep on...

G&T definitely

PurpleLostPrincess · 03/08/2007 23:27

Very true - I remember that from DD1. Oh well, hopefully I'll get a night or two in before my milk comes through

I'm sure peanuts/peanut butter is fine unless you've got a history of alergies in the family (which we have), I've just gone off them with this pg so I've avoided them out of choice... Saying that, I have had a few Reese's buttercups which are made out of peanuts so I'm contradicting myself now!!!

berolina · 03/08/2007 23:29

I haven't had peanut butter for three years as I have been permanently pg and/or bf since then

bananabump · 04/08/2007 09:33

Both dp and I and both our families have asthma, eczema, hayfever and various other allergies, I find it very unlikely this baby will have none of those, no matter how much I restricted the peanuts (although none of us have an allergy to peanuts)

Oh well, it's my due date today, bit late to stop eating them now. I don't feel too bad though because they're brain food, and I'm a veggie so have to snatch my protein where I can.

More concerned about getting steaming drunk two or three times before I realised I was pg.

RGPargy · 04/08/2007 10:37

A bucket load of champagne with pate on toast!!!

preggersagain · 04/08/2007 10:50

glass of bubbly in a steaming hot jacuzzi being fed blue cheese and brie by a sexy man (pref dh but he may well be on babysitting duty so i'll have to settle for the bloke from doodle doo!)

rascal1979 · 04/08/2007 15:57

Soft boiled egg with toast mmmmmmm Only 28 weeks to go

PurpleLostPrincess · 04/08/2007 18:43

Oh, and a trip to Alton Towers and Thorpe Park to go on all the adrenaline rides I can get on!!!

(just for the record, I didn't intend to make anybody feel bad for eating peanuts and you shouldn't feel bad - you know your body and what's good for you and whats not. I sometimes think all these rules are a bit over-rated tbh!)

missbumpy · 04/08/2007 19:19

I'm with MrsMar on the lovely lingerie front. I've been drooling over the figleaves website, looking at all the gorgeous undies I can't wear at the mo. BTW, I'm a first timer, can anyone who's already had kids tell me how long it takes for breasts to go back to normal...if they ever go back to normal at all

I didn't know about the peanut butter thing either. I've been having marmite and peanut butter on toast every morning. Also been eating goats cheese. Am I terrible mother before I've even started?!

a full tub of pate on some fresh bread from Bettys tea rooms followed by a big bag of honey roasted cashew nuts and washed down with a very cold Sol.

ejt1764 · 04/08/2007 19:33

danish blue cheese

paté on toast

a full pint of beer (or maybe even 2!)- rather than the single 1/2 pint I've been limiting myself to

a cup of tea (I have gone off all hot drinks!)

... mind you, I'm am the asthmatic, excema laden allergic woman who found that one of the only things I could eat early on was peanut-butter on toast ... all the things I fancy (except the beer) I have gone off, rather than not eating on purpose!

j20baby · 04/08/2007 19:33

a night out, drinking vdka, wine cocktails, everything! sleeping on my stomach. Hull Fair(if i've given birth by then) or Alton Towers. sleeping on my stomach, going on the trampoline, putting my jeans back on(hopefully!)

Jbck · 04/08/2007 19:36

NBG Cashews are ok, I checked with various sources including hospital dietician as we've lots of allergies, asthma etc & it's only peanuts that are the problem.
I was hoping to do peanut butter but if I'm bf which I hope to it'll have to wait. Nice pate on crusty bread, big fry up with runny egg (I've had one during pg but felt guilty) more than 1 glass of wine in a row.
