Hey I'm a religious nail wearer they're normally this length and shape (grown out a touch atm) did anyone keep their acrylics with a newborn? Heard loads of opinions on this just wondering if anyone had kept their nails with no issues

On a slightly different note @Lucccc, regardless what you work our post birth, it’s probably worth you checking with your hospital to see if they permit them for birth due to pulse oximetry monitoring though your nail beds.
Most hospitals don’t permit them (or varnish) and trying to take them off in labour would be no fun.

*through. Not though 🙄

@Triskaidekaphilia no problem! I use builder gel to make them blunt, I think there are different kinds of gels so you might need to check with whoever's doing them 😊 enjoy your new baby ❤️

I had gel polish on natural nails the day before I had my baby and my nails have grown like crazy. I felt like I was scratching the baby when I was changing her so Iv had them chopped right down and it feels much better.

My gels were just clear the day I gave birth and the oximetry thing was fine, but I'm aware this can be different for everyone and wouldn't have wanted the faff 😂 maybe get them done a couple of weeks after baby is born?

Pulse oximeter worked find with my gels on and all the staff commented how nice my nails were! I work in this hospital too and we have no issues with pulse ox with gels or acrylics for that matter.
