Hello,

Me and my partner are planning a gender reveal party for August.

Does anyone know of any good places/websites that we can get good decorations and supplies from in the UK??

OP posts:

Nobody cares but you and your partner" - that is utter bollocks, the first thing everyone has asked me is "do you know what you are having

Yeah but they're just making polite conversation. It doesn't actually matter to anyone else what it is
So do you know any suppliers or websites that the OP can use or are you just trying to be a gobshite?

GreenTulips · 09/07/2019 20:37

maybe the perpetually nasties from AIBU have smelt blood

Or maybe people are sick of being asked to attend none events whilst shelling out £££ and exclaiming Ahhhh..... or risk being called a kill joy?

DappledThings · 09/07/2019 20:39

Nope, just answering a PP, not the OP. As is common with all threads.

Incidentally I would classify a gobshite as someone who lies or embellished rather than someone who has a difference of opinion but that's the joy of language for you.

Who made you the thread police, Dad?

Self appointed for one day only!!

It is a pregnancy thread, the OP is clearly excited and a lot of the posts seem a bit nasty. All she seems to want is a bit of a celebration and is getting a lecture that are more appropriate for a different board and people telling her that no one cares anyway.
It's hardly in the spirit of the pregnancy thread.

@DappledThings well maybe I'm a weirdo but when I ask people what they are having I am generally interested, and I'm happy to be a weirdo! Wink

IceCreamSoda99 · 09/07/2019 21:09

@GreenTulips but what has that got to do with the OP asking about party supply websites?

BFPhopeful2019 · 09/07/2019 21:10

@IceCreamSoda99 me too! I love getting caught up in the excitement with people. It’s such a special time!

IceCreamSoda99 · 09/07/2019 21:12

@BFPhopeful2019 glad to know I'm not the only one! Smile

I enjoy it as well! So do my friends. We all love a baby shower and a reveal party. It's great making a bit of a fuss of the mum to be and getting together.

BFPhopeful2019 · 09/07/2019 21:52

@Notacooldad & @IceCreamSoda99 definitely not the only ones! I think OP will have a lovely celebration and her family and friends will enjoy being involved

Mrsmummy90 · 09/07/2019 22:53

Another one here that loves a good baby shower and gender reveal! I love making a fuss over the mum to be and any excuse to eat cake!

Sunshinegirl82 · 09/07/2019 22:57

I agree, all the ones I've been to have been lovely and supportive! I genuinely want to celebrate with people.

If you find them a bit tacky/feel obligated to buy a gift and don't want to/couldn't care less about the sex/gender of the baby then just politely decline. It's not difficult. It must be so joyless to be permanently offended by everything.
