I remember picking them up with DD and just having loads of stuff to recycle, are they still the same? ☺️

Mine was rubbish. A tiny pot of sudocreme, some always liners and a pile of coupons that mostly went into recycling bin!

Not if you have to hand over any personal data.

Cosmogirl86 · 03/05/2019 11:44

That's an odd response. Bounty packs are given by midwife at booking appointment, or at least mine was. My midwife has access to pretty much all my personal data including how often I have sex!

No it isn’t.

Bounty make money by selling mothers’ data to third parties for marketing purposes. MN ran a campaign to get them removed from postnatal wards where they are paid by the government to hand out Child Benefit forms and use this opportunity to gather data.

They’ve recently been fined £400k for misusing personal data:

Getting midwives to hand out their packs is a very effective strategy to create trust in the brand. GPPR should help but parents should be prepared if they are asked for their details so that they can withhold consent if they wish.

GDPR, sorry.

champagnebrain · 03/05/2019 12:55

No. Waste of time, paper etc. I'm surprised they are still going on 2019.

SansasSnatch · 03/05/2019 12:56

I remember Emma’s diary!

Jellybean100 · 03/05/2019 13:01

@cosmogirl86 why would your midwife know how often you have sex? Lol!

DinoMamasaurus · 03/05/2019 13:02

The misuse of personal data is appalling and agree with other posters re the issues with seeming hospital approved. However I did get them two years ago so figured i’d already stuffed my data security so I did get the bumper pack from Asda this time which had a nice little pack of newborn nappies which we’ll use for the hospital as we have cloth waiting at home. It also had quite a sweet little vest in as well as usual samples and leaflets. Much more worthwhile picking up that any of the ones I got with my first.

I didn't realise midwives asked how often you had sex. Mine didn't.Grin

littlemissalwaystired · 03/05/2019 13:14

As a midwife I can confirm that we do in fact NOT ask about people's sex lives, and want to keep it that wayGrin

Cosmogirl86 · 03/05/2019 13:54

I had to answer due to an issue with my cervix and previous surgery! I had vaginal bleeding also. But it was definitely discussed!

Mine contained a pen, a sachet of moisturiser and 7 pregnacare vitamin tablets. Not worth bothering with.
