Hi, I'm 5+1 with my first and since finding out (literally yesterday) I feel like my nausea is 100x worse. I'm not even actually being sick I'm just walking around most of the day with that sickly feeling 🤮 who else is in the same boat?

I was in the same boat and it lasted until 20 weeks or so (sorry) I ate little and often and mostly just very cold fruit. I feel for you Flowers

JayDot500 · 26/04/2019 17:16

7 + 4 here. I wish I could explain my nausea better but I feel like I've eaten too much watermelon and I'm permanently about to bring it back up Grin

Hang in there, it does improve (so I've been told) Flowers

AimeeJay · 26/04/2019 17:18

@jaydot500 I know what you mean, my stomach feels like theres constantly something in there that wants to come up, my mouth is constantly watering ready for me to be sick, but i wont! I think I'd rather just bring something up and get on with my day

Oh I had this! It started affecting my mental health because the nausea never gave me a break. Since I hit about 10 weeks it has got a lot better. Fruity sweets like maoam helped me, having low blood sugar's absolutely made the nausea worse

AimeeJay · 26/04/2019 17:35

I need to find my "thing" to help curb it, I hope it dies off soon. It's so hard when I'm at work and have to pretend that I feel okay because nobody knows yet

I feel exactly the same! 7+1 here and #3 and I feel so rough! Constant nausea and so tired! Iv been wearing the sea bands which seem to give abit of relief some days more than others (I sometimes wonder if they are in the right place) and ginger biscuits help too!

AimeeJay · 26/04/2019 17:42

I have my first appointment on Wednesday I might ask the doctor for their recommendations

It was the accompanying metallic taste in my mouth that used to push me over the edge....

Maybeayemaybenaw · 26/04/2019 19:33

Permanently having a mint in my mouth is really helping right now. Although that would never have been enough a few weeks ago, it was physically and mentally dreadful.

Worrier2019 · 27/04/2019 06:25

I'm 6+1 but yesterday nausea hit me like a bus, I was up at 3am dry heaving until about midday when I could just about stomach some soup. I don't feel as bad today, just feels very similar to a hangover, but I'm waiting for my body to turn on me.

Have little snacks even if you don't want them because your nausea will be worse on an empty stomach.

AimeeJay · 27/04/2019 09:15

Oh God, I cant believe we have 9 months of this! 🙏

I have been quite nauseous, mainly in the morning. And the only thing that stops it is.is if I eat. Which then makes me worried that I'm going to put on too much weight Blush

Wilbs77 · 27/04/2019 09:33

I had constant sickness until the day my son was born... 19 years ago! Nothing helped but a few suggestions are... ginger beer, ginger biscuits, wrist bands for nausea, eat little and often, basically all I could eat for my entire pregnancy was celery and water, still sicked them up but kept going. He was 10lb born!! It's you who suffers, baby will be perfect inside and you'll forget all about it once baby is here.

ClaraTA · 27/04/2019 21:00

I have had the worst nausea since week 6, I'm not 13 + 6, and it's just starting to get a little better. Ice lollies, cream crackers and cold drinks really helped. It got so bad at one point that my GP prescribed me some meds to give me a break for a week, and that really helped too. Hope you feel better soon!

Mygirlpoppy · 28/04/2019 18:41

I’m 8 weeks and can’t function and I don’t even I have bad morning sickness. When I think of women who have Hyperemesis Gravidarum, I don’t know how they cope. I feel like crying all the time. It’s exhausting!

Disco3000 · 28/04/2019 20:57

Wearing travel bands has really helped reduce the nausea, not completely but it's a lot better than it was.

Gettingonabitnow · 28/04/2019 21:12

The chalky tums / gaviscon tablets helped me

WinterWife · 28/04/2019 21:30

I had this till I was about 17 weeks. Eating little and often helped. Also I found keeping cereal bars on my bedside table helped in the morning as it literally started from the moment I woke up.
Best of luck OP. It's hard now but will definitely be worth it in 8 months time x

AimeeJay · 28/04/2019 21:47

It seems to be early in the morning and late at night mostly, popping to the pharmacy tomorrow so hopefully I can get something

I had that constant hungover feeling till I was 17 weeks on my first baby. I was absolutely miserable for weeks. It started the day I hit 6 weeks. I’m now pregnant again (4weeks 4 days) and am dreading what is coming. Especially as I’ve a toddler to care for now as well as working etc. Hoping it won’t be as bad as last time!!!

BikeRunSki · 28/04/2019 22:12

Pregnancy Sickness Support lots of help and advice here

Your GP can (but may not) prescribe anti Sickness drugs. You can’t get them OTC. In my (extensive) experience, they mostly stop Sickness, but do not curb nausea.

LKRJM · 29/04/2019 15:42

Ice lols, lucozade orange or some kind of energy drinks and maoams when you feel really bad, I think the fruity juice tricks your mouth somehow. 13+4 and still mega sick. Had about 2 days relief since week 9 now. Good luck!

Meanroda · 30/04/2019 21:13

@lkrjm I've been craving lucozade but I've resisted assuming that it would be bad for baby considering it had caffeine and high levels of glucose. Do you reckon it's safe?

LKRJM · 30/04/2019 21:56

@meanroda I think in moderation it would be fine. It’s the only thing I’ll drink at the moment, ice cold. So just have to limit it. When I’m not feeling sick I only drink water to try and even it out x

Worrier2019 · 01/05/2019 05:21

@lkrjm this is the second post I've seen Maoams mentioned to help sickness, can you explain that one to me? I'd love to tell my husband I'll need to stock up Wink
