Went to the doctors and got told I was pregnant, roughly 2 weeks maybe?? The test and everything came back positive, I have pelvic cramps and feel very nauseous.. sometimes my stomach will hurt here and there and the cramps become a little bad but no bleeding. They did an ultrasound both internal and out and couldn't find anything.. should I be worried? My hcg levels were 235. Just looking for the truth! Having my blood tested again to see if the numbers double but just curious.

If you're only 2 weeks pregnant (2 weeks past conception), then it's probably just too early to see anything on an ultrasound. You might be able to see the sac, but if you can't that's normal too. I've never actually heard of anywhere doing scans that early to be honest. At that very early stage of pregnancy, there's really nothing to do except wait to find out if all is ok or not, it's just too early to know now unfortunately. Cramps are also very normal at that stage, and throughout your pregnancy. Hopefully everything goes well and on your next scan you can see something and a heartbeat!

AmCanales · 21/03/2019 16:18

Thanks for the reply! Do you think my hcg levels were normal for it being this early? I'm testing them tomorrow and hoping they get to 450 or so. Fingers crossed, I haven't gotten bleeding so that must be a good sign?

The actual number of the level of HCG doesn't really matter, it's more that it's doubling every few days, which hopefully it will be.

Nowthenforever2019 · 21/03/2019 16:49

Why did they do an ultra sound?

AmCanales · 21/03/2019 16:49

Yeah, I guess I'm just paranoid because this is my first and I'm 19. No bleeding is a good sign correct? Or can I miscarry and not know? Sorry to bug I'm just nervous.

I'm taking prenatal like they advised.

Hopefully it doubles, I just got worried when they said they couldn't see anything and that I could've lost it. And that I'm like 2 weeks (they said 30 seconds because of how early GrinConfused

They said I was like 5 weeks pregnant? And then when they did ultrasound they couldn't see anything. My hcg levels put me at 2 weeks or around there.

I use Flo app and my period was February 10th to the 16th and my ovulation was February 21st to the 27th

I'm just confused! They told me they couldn't answer my questions and they were just as confused as me. I'm so frustrated and worried.. like is my baby there or not? Just tell me and not tip toe around it.

Pregnancy is dated from the first day of your last period, until you have your 12 week scan and are given an official due date.
Going by your dates you would be roughly 5 and a half weeks I believe, however you may have ovulated a little later than you thought or implantation may have taken a while making you closer to 4 weeks.

At this very early stage it's not unusual to see nothing on a scan, there isn't really anything to see, the biggest indication will be your blood test results at this point and whether the hcg is increasing.
Nausea and cramps are typical pregnancy symptoms. I know its stressful but you'll have to wait for your second blood results, it doesn't sound worrying at this point.

AmCanales · 21/03/2019 18:14

@JuniperNarni okay, I looked at the paper she gave me it says my HCG should be 500-10,000 if I was 3-4 weeks and 100-500 for 2-3 weeks? I'm only 235 hcg so it doesn't make sense that it's not that high? Or am I wrong

I'm still unsure why you had a scan. The nhs don't usually scan this early as, as you've found, you can't always see something. Although it's extremely tough, your going to have to wait it out.

AmCanales · 21/03/2019 19:23

You can't see something even internal exam ??

Going by your last period you're within normal range. It's not so much about the number anyway but whether its rising or not which is what they are testing for.

And no even with an internal that early they often can't see anything. You'd have to be at least 6 weeks from last menstrual period and even then you may not see anything if your dates are a little out. Definitely nothing to panic about.

Confused, help??
Nowthenforever2019 · 21/03/2019 19:37

Yes, it's usually after 6 weeks atthe earliest you can see something

AmCanales · 21/03/2019 19:50

@JuniperNarni @Nowthenforever2019 okay, I'll keep you updated with how the blood results come back Monday I believe.

I'm having pretty bad cramps in my lower stomach, and constipated.. should I be worried or is the pain just from constipation not anything serious? Still no spotting

spugzbunny · 21/03/2019 20:25

Did you go to a NHS Doctor? Are you in the UK?

This is all totally normal for early pregnancy. You don't usually see something on a scan until about 6/7 weeks. Even internal. I don't really understand why they did a scan so early?

AmCanales · 21/03/2019 20:41

No I'm in the US. I'm really confused too! I was confused and asked them and she said she really didn't have any answers for me..

OP posts:
AmCanales · 21/03/2019 20:41

@spugzbunny ^ just panicked I'm not sure what to think. Like is there a baby or not??

OP posts:
Hiphopopotamous · 21/03/2019 20:51

Agree with others you shouldn't have had a scan. In the U.K. we don't do any until 6 weeks because you end up rescanning anyway as you see nothing. I think the level has to be around 1500 on hCG before seeing anything on ultrasound, even transvaginal. It just increases anxiety otherwise.

Nowthenforever2019 · 21/03/2019 20:51

At the moment, if you're lucky, there will be some cells that will become a baby. There won't be a baby there now. It's far far too early. You'll just have wait.

Pregnancy is 9 months, it's going to be a veeeeeery long 9 months if you are this anxious about it. Try to relax.

spugzbunny · 21/03/2019 20:58

Off topic a bit but this is just why I think the American system is crazy. Nothing benefits the OP by having a scan at such an early stage. Nothing benefits her by knowing her HCG level. All it does is cause panic and cost money.

AmCanales · 21/03/2019 20:59

@Nowthenforever2019 @spugzbunny @Hiphopopotamous haha yeah I'm pretty anxious just because I'm having pain throbs in my belly and pelvic area 24/7 that are sometimes just unbearable so it makes me worried

OP posts:
Nowthenforever2019 · 21/03/2019 21:00

Look, it's either a viable pregnancy or it's unfortunately not going to be.

I'm currently also 5 weeks and getting bad cramps. No one knows, you'll just have to be patient. Just chill. Have a bath. Read a book. Go for a walk. Just try to take your mind off it

newbabyyy2019 · 21/03/2019 21:15

I had a scan at 6 weeks and all's that was there was a yolk sac and it just looked like a little circle. You're very early and nothing would likely be seen at this point if you're only a few weeks so don't worry about it too much
