Hi everyone. :)

I love reading threads on mumsnet. I've read threads on here for years- often led here by search results. ;)

A big wave to everyone. hello Halo

OK, I've never been pregnant before, but I'm currently 12 days late for my period.

I've had pain several days before my period was supposed to be due, right through until now! During the days before my period due date, as the pain increased, I took ibuprofen on 3 separate occasion ( 1 tablet each time over the course of a few days). I had no reason to doubt it wasn't my period as it WAS around my period due date, for one.

Secondly, I've been having trouble getting pregnant for over 9 years.

Today, I decided to take a pregnancy test! The last time I did one was probably about 7 years ago!
As you do, I'm doubting what I saw. I absolutely regret not taking a photo now.

When I did the test this morning, the control section came up with a quick clear line, and the test section started off with a faint line which gradually got darker within the 5 minute reading time.
Because it wasn't " as dark " as the control line, I doubted whether it was really a line.

It was a mixture of " can this be true" and confusion and " no, it can't be." I suppose I wanted something to scream out at me. Blush
So we went out and tried to look for the digital clear blue, but couldn't find it at the supermarket, but whilst out our feet let us to our GP surgery!

We walked in, and I told the lady at the desk " I THINK, I could be pregnant, and I don't know what I need to do next."

I know having a photo would help you all judge better Sad sorry I haven't got one, but what are your thoughts so far?

I have another test, which I'm planning to do 48 hours later. Is that the best thing I can do right now?

Meanwhile the lady at the front desk at the gp said that the midwife comes in on Fridays ( ironically we'd just missed her today! ) and that I should receive a call from the midwife.

Thank you everyone. :)
