Terrified of induction - midwife saying no to C section

I'm due to be induced at 40+10 on Monday. This is my first DC. About a week ago I asked if I could skip induction and go straight to C section. I was told outright no and C section was only available if induction fails.

I've since been reading and researching and trying to get my head around things but I'm terrified of induction and have read that up to 40% of inductions end up in C sections anyway, and it carries a much higher risk of intervention.

I really want an elective C section. Can I get one? If so how? And have I left it too late to request this? I have a midwife appointment tomorrow for a third sweep so I can discuss again but I'm worried she will just stone wall me again and say no.

Congratulations!! And so proud that you and your DH were willing to find the courage to fight for your rights!!!

Great news OP.
. please consider complaining about this midwife though, so she cannot bully the next woman who is less articulate/doesn't have your DH to fight for her rights to medical decision making!

Congratulations OP, that’s wonderful!

I know it’s far from your priority right now but please do consider submitting a complaint about your treatment by the two midwives - just for the sake of other women.

Congratulations, so pleased for you and glad you are happy with how your birth went. The midwives did not handle it well at all I agree but had they booked you in as soon as you asked for section I guess you might not of got to do it this way so kind of a silver lining. I have experienced the same sort of brush off in earlier pregnancies and so I'm grateful to have read the responses here myself, although I hope not to need to ask them for a section too good to know you can request one.
