Hello ladies, I had a private sex scan at 16+1 and have the potty shot pictures, they confirmed a baby boy, we had a reveal party and everything, today I had my anomaly scan at 20+3, 2 sonographers have confirmed girl!!!
I'm so scared it will change again I don't want to buy anything
I don't know what I'm looking at on the potty shot, anyone have any ideas?!

Why is it unreasonable for the op to want to know the sex of her baby? Confused Found out with all 3 of mine for various reasons and no one thought to give me a hard time about it.

Op, I can't really see anything on those shots. I would let the private clinic know that you have had different verdicts and ask them to scan again.

Gobletoffire · 16/01/2019 11:53

Hmm I can’t tell from your photos OP! As other people have suggested I would contact the private company that did your scan and explain the situation, hopefully they’ll ask you to come back in to check again! If they don’t, then I would personally pay for another private scan if it were me (hopefully you shouldn’t have to do that though).

As for the moaners, OP never said she had a preference and it’s hardly a crime to want to know the sex of her own baby, particularly as she paid to find out in the first place! If it were me I would want a rescan too!

spugzbunny · 16/01/2019 20:20

@lelrx I was sticking up for you! Won't bother next time Hmm

lelrx · 16/01/2019 20:24

@spugzbunny
I know Im so sorry! I thought it was the same person having ago at me and then realised after! What a nightmare, thank you i do appreciate it

P. S I have rebooked with the same company tomorrow evening so I will update you all, this will be free of charge and if they confirm it is actually baby girl they will refund and give us a free 3d scan! Which is more than fair as we knew they couldn't be 100% accurate anyway

@lelrx ah ok! No harm done! I'm glad you've got a repeat scan booked! Good luck! I bet they'll spend extra time checking! Thanks

lelrx · 16/01/2019 20:32

I will update you all tomorrow! Thank you all for the support x

What does a little girl need in her nursery that little boy doesn't?

Good point.

They usually do say at 16 weeks they can't guarantee it.
Depends if you want to have another scan or just wait and see and only buy neutral stuff from now onwards.

spugzbunny · 16/01/2019 20:44

@BishBoshBashBop in theory yes but actually in practice everything is gendered. It shouldn't be necessarily but it is. Our nursery is very gender neutral and most of her first clothes were white but actually people will buy you gendered things if they know what the baby is going to be. If OP has already told people that she's having a boy, I imagine there will be a lot of people wondering if they should send things back! You can't expect everyone to have the same of views as you.

Personally I wanted to know what sex she would be. She often wears boys stuff to bed because I like her in those onesies but I also love her in pink! It just suits her!

@spugzbunny Please point to anywhere in my 2 worded post where I suggested they should Hmm

spugzbunny · 16/01/2019 21:01

@BishBoshBashBop it was a more general reply. Just the very first sentence was for you.

InglouriousBasterd · 16/01/2019 21:03

I think I can see three lines aka girl.

TVDKJ1864 · 17/01/2019 14:55

All this 'gender neutral' crap makes me laugh! I am pregnant and will be finding out soon if I am having a boy or a girl. If I have a boy his clothes will be blues/greys/whites/blacks I sure as hell won't be putting him in pinks etc if I have a girl then she will be in pinks/whites/yellows etc do you know why? Cause this is MY baby and I will do as I damn well please! I come from a family that all think the same as me, I have over 20 nieces and nephews raised like this and guess what, none have been 'emotionally or mentally' damaged! They are all lovely, kind, caring and respectful adults/children (ages ranging from 18yo-7mo). You want us to 'respect' your opinions then I suggest you have some common courtesy and do the same!

How about all of you bashing the OP zip it and jump on to a thread about being gender neutral! She asked a simple question to find out what other think because she has been confused.

OP goodluck with your scan, I am sure your child will be well loved and cared for regardless of whether you have a girl or boy Smile

ZogTheOrangeDragon · 17/01/2019 14:59

I am notoriously unreliable with scans but I think girl as well. The genitals are more obvious the further along you are so the fact you were told girl by two separate sonograohers at 20 weeks compared to one at 16 weeks, would also be enough to convince me.

I hope you get a definite answer tonight and enjoy seeing your baby again.

Eatmycheese · 17/01/2019 21:01

@lelrx how did it go?
I'm sure that's a girl
Prepares to be told otherwise Grin

lelrx · 17/01/2019 21:09

Thank you ladies!! She's all girl, I didn't think this could happen so I'm shocked but very excited thank you all for your lovely comments xx

Yay! I thought it was just like my daughter's scan shot and nothing like my two sons!
Congratulations 🥂

Hello Ladies,

I am 17 weeks and 5 days and had a private 2D ultrasound to determine baby gender. The lady sounded confident and within a matter of minutes told me it was a boy and she could even see his testicles. I also think it’s a boy from the image but this happened with my daughter last time and they got it wrong just wondering what other people’s thoughts are ? And if they have had one look like this when in fact it is a girl ?
