Is this test positive after my abortion?

Hi all, I had a 13 week surgical abortion after a lot of thought at the end of November. I took a test on Wednesday as recommended by Marie stopes but it was negative.. I had coincidently bought a pack of two tests and I still haven't had a period so thought I would double check and what I think is a faint line has come up! Could anyone give me their thoughts on this and tell me whether they think I'm imagining it or if they can see a line too? There is meant to be a vertical line through the middle of the round window. I'll be absolutely devastated if I'm pregnant again as it was so hard to make the decision of terminating and I was so heartbroken after my procedure. Of course there's the possibility that I have retained some tissue but it doesn't feel like it and my bleeding had completely stopped by just over two weeks.

Meant to say both tests look negative to me, I can't see any lines.

I'm just worried that if I was pregnant again I would keep it and anyone who knew about my termination would think I was an awful person for terminating one baby but keeping the next within two months.. and thanks to a certain gossiping family member a fair few members of my family do know. I think personally I would think it was odd if someone I knew did the same thing 🤔

Don't worry about what anyone else thinks or says OP, it's not their life. They didn't have to go through the heartbreak of the first termination and it's not them raising another baby either. This is your life and I hope everything works out for you. I learned not to worry about judgement a long time ago and it's done wonders for me since. Sending best wishes to you Thanks

You do not need to make a decision based on what others think. If you want to keep going with a pregnancy and have this baby (if you are pregnant) then that’s what you do. I think testing again in a day or two should give you a more obvious result.

I can see it op. Have you tested again? I would be making an appointment with a gp so you can work out if it's retained products or a new pregnancy.

Its going to be ok. It feels awful now, but everything can be worked out a tiny bit at a time. Flowers

OP I have had heaps of lines like that on those blue dye tests. I mean heaps. Blue dye tests are the worst, every single one you do will have a line if you look hard enough. As others have said, grab a pink dye test, much more reliable.

Hi guys didn't want to leave you all hanging.. I'm going to do another test in a couple of days but still no period. I was told that the day of my termination would be the first day of my cycle and I'm always 28 days (I understand my pill and termination could mess up my body) so that would make me about 11 days late. But I will let you know

I think you should book an appointment with the nurse at your doctors or local GUM clinic to discuss contraception. It must be very stressful constantly worrying about pregnancy. Also your comment about the pill and thinking you took it on the days you had sex is a bit worrying as you clearly don’t understand how it works. I think for your long term peace of mind you should book to get some advice so you feel more in control of your own fertility.

Get the implant or a coil op, dont fuck about like this, it isnt fair to you. Anstain from sex if you have to, no amount of sex is worth the suffering you will go through.
Also never tell anyone about a termination. Are you the poster whose SIL was also pregnant and kept texting

BFGgirl sorry I realise that did sound like I don't have a clue.. I just meant that I can't remember if I had sex around the time I missed the pills as I know you should use other precautions for 7 days which obviously I did not. I've never been TOO careful as my partner has been told he's got v low sperm count but obviously I think he should really go and get retested as if I'm pregnant again then he's managed to conceive three times in the last two years. I remember with my first baby and the second pregnancy always feeling very run down in the beginning and I've noticed I've been napping a lot so it does look like I could be pregnant again. I just really hope not x

Your partner shouldn't be coming near you tbh, you're not in the right frame of mind to consent properly.

Not being funny but after he got you pregnant twice you should have been 'TOO careful'

Abortion, as I'm sure you know, is a traumatic experience. Don't put yourself in that position of risk again.

After having an abortion why would you not be careful?! Everyone should have a choice (although my personal beliefs go against abortion) but abortion is not a method of contraception. Sort something out OP you have been slightly naive.

I hope for your sake the next test comes back clearly positive. Terminations are emotionally very painful even when you know it's what you want. To go through two so close together would be extremely tuff I imagine.
When do you plan to re test? Have you spoken to your partner?

If it's negative I would recommend changing your contraception method to something you don't have to think about daily. Cool, implant etc xx

Just drank loads of water and driven to Tesco busting for a wee to find they were completely out of stock of tests... I was about to wet myself and the nearest supermarket was about 3 miles past my house so I'll try again tomorrow Sad
On another note a thought just came to me... I was bleeding for nearly three weeks past my abortion.. would it have even been possible for me to get pregnant? And should I be counting from the day I stopped bleeding? I'm completely clueless on how it works post abortion, my first pregnancy was planned and I had a perfect cycle so this is all confusing to me!
