Anyone else got a bit of a feeling what they’re having without having anything confirmed? Or anyone thought they knew early doors and got the sex confirmed?

I’ve guessed 4 out of 4! Just had a really strong instinct each time.

This is my 5th pregnancy- my 4th ended in a mmc and that’s the only one I didn’t get the feeling for

rach2019 · 02/01/2019 15:36

I feel like I'm having a boy, its always what I picture in my mind and other people have said that but wont know for another 4 weeks :(

Msd2416 · 02/01/2019 15:36

I feel the same just feel like I already know very strange! Was any of the old wives tales true for you?

If you look at it mathematically, you have a 50% chance of being right when having a 'strong' feeling about the sex (NOT GENDER) of your baby. So those of you who say you just knew and were right, it just the odds are very favourable.
Now determining the gender of your baby is a whole other conversation!,

CountessVonBoobs · 02/01/2019 15:39

I had a "feeling" both times. I was right once, wrong once. Not surprisingly.

You have a 50% chance of being "right", and people are much more inclined to remember being right than being wrong, so I don't really think it means a thing.

Msd2416 · 02/01/2019 15:43

Well aware it’s 50/50 just a bit of fun isn’t it though?

I had no inkling with my first, until I was in labour and I started thinking girl (I was wrong!).

This time I am adamant it's a boy, due end of January so not long now to find out if I'm right. Although if I am I know it's just dumb luck, there's no way to really "know".

TheOrangeOwl · 02/01/2019 15:52

I was completely wrong!

TakingtheLeap · 02/01/2019 16:08

I currently have a very strong feeling that mine is a boy (almost 16 weeks). However DH has pointed out that every baby I've ever spent time with (close friends/family) has been a boy so he thinks this is just my unconscious thinking that boys are what you get. Grin Find out in 4 weeks!

PerfectPeony · 02/01/2019 16:12

I knew I was having a girl and called her ‘she’ from the day I found out. It was confirmed at 16 weeks as I had an early scan- the lady said the mother is usually right. Smile

Owletty · 02/01/2019 16:12

Right with both of mine.

I'm sure I've read somewhere that expectant mothers "guess" the sex right around 70/80% of the time - far higher than the expected 50% correct

Clementine19 · 02/01/2019 16:13

Wrong 3 times out of 3!

AM1994 · 02/01/2019 16:28

I was completely wrong- Was sure it was a little boy & surprised when we find out she’s a little girl!

Mikewazowskismrs · 02/01/2019 17:25

I was so sure it’s a boy and we found out last week it is !

DramaAlpaca · 02/01/2019 17:26

I was wrong all three times.

JamieOliversChickenNugget · 02/01/2019 17:30

Ime women have instincts its a girl, then are gutted when its a boy.

gimmeadoughnut123 · 02/01/2019 17:32

I was sure we were having a boy. We are having a little girl. My mum has never failed at guessing though, and was right again!

TheSubtleKnifeAndFork · 02/01/2019 17:38

@JamieOliversChickenNugget that's a bit of a sweeping generalisation.

Anyone being "gutted" by the sex of their child is a horrible image. :(

Melamine · 02/01/2019 17:40

I had a very strong feeling...it was wrong!

JamieOliversChickenNugget · 02/01/2019 17:43

It happens a lot subtle.

Chocolateheaven123 · 02/01/2019 17:46

@JamieOliversChickenNugget

I've thought from the day I found I was pregnant that this baby is a girl, and keep referring to the baby as 'she'. Definitely not a preference as I feel very, very strongly against it, and I actually would LOVE another little boy. referred to my first unborn as 'he' as I thought it was a boy (it was) and have an even stronger feeling this time it's a girl. Obviously o could be wrong but I genuinely don't care either way.

Lauren83 · 02/01/2019 17:46

I thought DS was a boy and he was, got a scan Sunday to see what number 2 is and I think it's a girl

TheSubtleKnifeAndFork · 02/01/2019 18:42

@JamieOliversChickenNugget

I don't doubt it TBH, but IMO those people shouldn't be having babies. Talk about priorities!
