Hi all, just as the title says, nearing the end of pregnancy and feeling very shitty. It's my second baby, I have a 2.5yo who is not is childcare so I'm looking after him in the daytime too, which means maternity leave isn't quite as relaxing this time round! Finding myself losing patience lots and putting on lots of cbeebies! 🙈 My husband only has to look at me in the slightest way and I'm blowing up like a volcano. I seem to have done something to my upper back so am in pain with that too. Sleep isn't great. All I want to do is lie on the sofa in peace eating chocolate (if only). The house is a bit of a tip, but I have no energy to get on top of it, which is annoying as the house was spotless when I had DS!

Feeling very whiney today, so sorry for the woe is me post! DS went over by 10 days so I'm not hopeful that the birth will be imminent. Anyone else in a similar position and wanting to countdown together??

Thanks @Lynsey19. Merry Christmas! Funny one for us but just imagine next year!

Yes i am really quite overwhelmed at how amazing the nhs is. Even getting fed 3 times a day seems amazing in a funny way.

The staff are fabulous makes me humbled when i whinge about my office job the hours these lot put in. So many at work last night / today too with children. No complaints tho. Amazing people!

Yes there is something to be said about being in a safe place.

Oh wow that sounds promising @m4rdybum. I feel a live birth thread coming on haha!

Merry Christmas.

EyeDrops · 25/12/2018 08:45

Merry Christmas everyone, may I join in the whinge? Only 36+1 but I have a massive pile that's making me utterly miserable Sad Had it almost a week (as of this evening) and it's just not shifting, even with ultraproct cream.

Also, it's 8.45 and I'm the only one awake!! Desperate for our 3yo dd to wake up too!!

Hope you all enjoy today, Flowers (especially those in hospital)

Merry Christmas everyone, hope you all had a good day... especially those in hospital.. anyone had an xmas arrival??

EyeDrops I'm deeply envious of your slow start...my nearly 7 year old was in our bed from 3am because he was convinced it was morning and I was terrified if I sent him back to his bed he'd wake the 2 year old & the 4 year old... not the most restful night I've had, but I suppose it's good practice for next month and the return to the newborn regime...

Didn't check mumsnet yesterday and just catching up on this wondering if any of your babies have arrived yet...?? m4ardy that sounded promising! Still no sign here but I'm not yet 40 weeks so trying to be patient! I have a feeling this baby is going to stick around where she is for some time yet, just like my first did! 😫

No baby yet!

I'm only 37+5 today so not expecting anything to work, but hoping I can get the cogs turning in preparation! Been having period pains (not bad ones) for about an hour a day for the last few days.

Started drinking raspberry leaf tea morning and night, bouncing on my ball and even had some spicy food. Topped off with a long walk today (which left me feeling very uncomfortable and walking like John Wayne).

Will probably all be in vain but at least I can say I tried!

AnxiousMama101 · 26/12/2018 23:37

No baby here either.

39+1 and getting so impatient. Every twitch, sharp pain or twinge and I think This is it and it never is!
First time mum so don't really know what to expect!

TheBubGrower · 03/01/2019 05:24

How is everyone getting on? After a slow latent phase my LO was born quite quickly yesterday morning :) she's just perfect. Hope you are all doing well. My new theory is that it's natures way to make sure we're thoroughly fed up at the end of pregnancy so we can be like "bring it on!" when labour finally starts! Haha

@TheBubGrower congratulations on your little girl, my lovely! Has she got a name yet?

Still no bub yet. 40+2 now! I've got a sweep booked on Friday. Just hoping it all kicks off soon. Keep getting twinges still and sharp pains; come on baby!

TheBubGrower · 03/01/2019 05:44

Good luck sad! I did a couple of long hilly walks to help get things going and some dancing around in the kitchen with my toddler, haha. Who knows if that helped but maybe worth a try?! Fingers crossed it happens for you soon

Congrats @TheBubGrower - jealous you're having new born snuggles!

I have been booked in for an induction at 41 weeks if baby doesn't make an appearance before then (38+6 today). I'm uncomfortable now but nothing majorly pointing to signs of labour yet.

Poor DH not getting much sleep with me tossing and turning in bed like a portly hippo though - getting him prepared for new born sleepless nights Grin

Been awake since 3am... 4th night in a row that I’ve lain awake for hours with my brain whirring away. I’m 37+2 and I’m so so ready for the baby to come.

Spent most of yesterday with very light period cramps and just felt so heavy and bloated. Then in the early hours of this morning I started having really regular and long lasting waves of discomfort starting in my lower back for about 20 minutes. But Unfortunately I then got bad leg cramp and had to turn over and the waves bloody stopped. I was gutted, I honestly thought “this is it!”

Now I just feel like I don’t want the baby to come until I’ve had a good nights sleep. I’m too exhausted for anything right now.

Notthisoneagain · 03/01/2019 10:11

Congratulations on your newborn!

No news from me unfortunately. I feel terrible though, had a stinking cold for over a week and can't sleep with it. It's making me feel lousy in the day.

I try my best not to move if I get period like pains, for this very reason! Daft isn't it.
