Hi all, just as the title says, nearing the end of pregnancy and feeling very shitty. It's my second baby, I have a 2.5yo who is not is childcare so I'm looking after him in the daytime too, which means maternity leave isn't quite as relaxing this time round! Finding myself losing patience lots and putting on lots of cbeebies! 🙈 My husband only has to look at me in the slightest way and I'm blowing up like a volcano. I seem to have done something to my upper back so am in pain with that too. Sleep isn't great. All I want to do is lie on the sofa in peace eating chocolate (if only). The house is a bit of a tip, but I have no energy to get on top of it, which is annoying as the house was spotless when I had DS!

Feeling very whiney today, so sorry for the woe is me post! DS went over by 10 days so I'm not hopeful that the birth will be imminent. Anyone else in a similar position and wanting to countdown together??

Haha I haven't noticed that yet from strangers incognito but I do feel like I stand out a country mile with my waddling, and then the sudden gasp of pain when I get the lightning crotch! That sounds like a nasty cold, will you get chance to rest this weekend? Sounds like you need a duvet day or two.

Full moon tonight! They say more babies are born on the full moon! I wonder if that will come true for any of us...

Anyone else having any pre-labour symptoms yet? Nada here. I'm definitely resigning myself to this one coming late/ close to DD

I’m also 39+2 today, with my first. Really want the baby to come by my due date but everyone is saying it’ll be well into January! Baby’s head is engaged and my bump low. My bladder is not enjoying this...

Elliejojo · 22/12/2018 13:45

Ooo I didn’t know about the full moon! Interesting Smile

Rarfy · 22/12/2018 13:53

34+4 and stuck in hospital until 37+1 for planned c section. Placenta previa here.

Dont want to whinge too much because i will be forever greatful when this baby girl lands as i have had a shit time previously with losses but this is not how i thought i would spend the last few weeks of pregnancy or christmas, or new year

And i miss dp and dog like crazy!!!!

TheBubGrower · 22/12/2018 15:43

Sorry to hear you're stuck in hospital rarfy . will you be allowed out at all on Christmas day?

Honeybee79 · 22/12/2018 17:12

With you. 36 + 2.have a 2 year old and an 8 year old. Have hurt my back and have spent the last week in fucking AGONY. Can't get into the Xmas mindset at all Sad

Rarfy · 22/12/2018 17:53

No sadly not. Placenta completely coverin cervix and been bleeding lightly on and off since last Thursday. I live half hour+ from hospital and they say too big of a so i have to listen to the professionals.

Thankfully no other dc at home otherwise it would be really bad. We will make the most of it. Still Christmas.

TheBubGrower · 22/12/2018 18:28

Fair enough rarfy, good to know you're in the best place to be looked after. That's most important thing and baby will be here before you know it! Sounds like you have a good attitude about it

Rarfy · 22/12/2018 18:31

Thanks! Trying to brave it out. Just sad at this time of year but will all be worth it and lots of people much worse off than i am.

Hope the end is in sight for everyone else suffering in one way or another!

Elliejojo · 23/12/2018 13:21

Rarfy thinking of you! Remember this too shall pass, as hard as it is now. Have you got good books to read?
How is everyone else doing?

TheBubGrower · 23/12/2018 13:59

I'm raging today. Got up this morning and went out to yoga, nice relaxing time, come home to an absolute mess of a house where OH has been in with DS all morning and they are both still in their PJs at 1pm! Kitchen still a mess from dinner last night, toys everywhere, bathroom to be cleaned, washing to be done, shopping to get, DS's lunch all over the floor. And we've got visitors tomorrow (my in laws) so need to get sorted for that. I'm so livid. My idea of a nice relaxing day has now turned into me having to pick up the slack from OH. I've tried to instil in him that we need to keep the house in relative order so that if I go into labour we're not bringing a new born home to chaos. Doesn't seem to be resonating though! Aargh honestly I could punch something

I am living off mumsnet and dm online. Luckily my dad has a portable freeview tv he has brought in for me which is fab as thw hospital tv is £8 per day!

Oh dear how annoying op. Not a relaxing day at all. Are the in laws the type to lend a hand or not at all?

Incognito38 · 23/12/2018 14:36

@TheBubGrower not surprised you're annoyed!

@Rarfy sorry to hear you're stuck in hospital, that must be really boring. Puts my whinging into perspective!

I think I've finally shifted all the germs and had a couple of decent nights sleep so I'm feeling a bit chirpier today and like I'll be able to cope with labour when it strikes!

Rarfy · 23/12/2018 15:52

@Incognito38 glad you are feeling better. Just in time for the big day.

Thank you. Mega boring but im in the best place for baby and i so cant whinge too much.

m4rdybum · 23/12/2018 15:57

Could I join in?

37+2 today with my first baby.

Going for a consultant appointment tomorrow to discuss results of a gestational diabetes test and a care plan, as the baby is above the 90th centile. In a way, I'm hoping they suggest an induction a week or two earlier than 40 weeks, but we'll see!

Not got too many pains - had an afternoon of Braxton Hicks yesterday and I find if I've sat for a bit, getting moving is quite difficult and my pelvic area feels very sore until I've got walking for a bit. I've had about 20 mins on my birthing ball today and had a couple of period pain like twinges.

Anyone else finding themselves gripping onto every single pain and thinking "this is it" when they know it really isn't? Wishful thinking!

Regards to the wind- I second that. Smells like Satan himself has died up there.

Rebah · 23/12/2018 16:24

Can I join?
37+3 with dc4. HG pregnancy so have felt like shit all the way through. Can’t sleep, either my ribs or hips hurt or I need a wee. Today I woke up with sore under bump area too.

Oh and ils are here for 9 days and we are only three days in and I’m already feeling murderous (they are nice people and I get on well with them but I’m too pregnant and just want to walk around in my pants and not be asked how I’m feeling every five seconds).

TheBubGrower · 23/12/2018 19:59

Good luck tomorrow m4rdybum. Yep I'm totally hyper tuned into every twinge at the moment. Which I know is ridiculous, because I did exactly the same with DS and he ended up being soooooo late so all those "signs" were total nonsense. I also did EVERYTHING first time round to get things moving, including 3 sweeps, and it did nothing. So I'm trying to remember this time round to chill and that baby will come when she's ready. Tricky though, I'm only thinking "wonder if I'll go into labour today" ooh maybe 17,000 times per day 🤣

9 days rebah!!!!! You're a brave woman. I can't cope with any visits that last longer than 48 hours, and that's pushing it!

m4rdybum · 24/12/2018 16:39

Good luck tomorrowm4rdybum.

Thanks a lot.

All went well - she's on the larger side but no diabetes so that's good. They've set my induction date for 41 weeks, so just have to try and get her moving before then!

Mesmeri · 24/12/2018 17:01

Hi everyone - congrats and commisserations! Can I join you all? This is the thread I was looking for! I'm 37 weeks with no.4... and definitely hear you about the short temper/ lack of patience, and just wanting to be left alone to lie on the couch and eat chocolate... oh, that would be bliss!! But unlikely to happen for at least 5 years....

TheBubGrower · 24/12/2018 17:19

Glad to hear it went well m4rdy.

I was up through most the night with really bad heartburn. Thought I was going to be sick everywhere! Also just felt so uncomfortable and breathless last night, lots of Braxton hicks (which aren't at all uncomfortable for me apart from the breathlessness). So, really tired today and hoping for a better night's sleep. Got no appetite today at all. Really hoping I don't have another 3 wks of this! Really didn't want to have the baby tomorrow but I think I'd be happy with her coming anytime now as long as it's soon!

Haha mesmeri 5 years at least!

Lynsey19 · 24/12/2018 17:41

Can I join too? Similar to @Rarfy I’m also in hospital but due to having polyhydramnios & baby with an unstable lie. Been here since Thursday but luckily only have to wait until Thursday for my section as consultant wanted to be as close to 39 weeks.
I hope you are doing ok! I’m also living off mumsnet and an iPad from my sister with half of BBC iplayer downloaded. Can recommend Killing Eve!! No social media works on the hospital WiFi and I’ve no signal in my room.

Grimbles · 24/12/2018 19:29

I'm only 34 weeks but am starting to feel really bad. Permanently knackered, uncomfortable, really bad heartburn and bloating. Have been on the loo a lot too and not for a wee. Blush

Rarfy · 24/12/2018 23:13

Funny being in for Christmas isn't it @Lynsey19?

Wow not long to go until baby is here. Very exciting! My hospital doesnt have wifi either. Im gona get someone to figure out how to download some boxsets for me at home on wifi once christmas is over. See me through the next 2 wks.

Lynsey19 · 24/12/2018 23:26

@Rarfy yes it is very odd. Everyone is being so nice though & it really opens your eyes to how hard the nurses and midwives work. I’m just relieved as I feel much safer here with baby.
How are you doing?
Yes I’m grateful we only have a few more days until we meet our little girl.
I hope the time goes quick for you & you are being looked after. It’ll be so worth it.

Well my sister had downloaded things from bbc iplayer and you can watch those offline so that would work for you? I think you might be able to do that with Netflix too!

m4rdybum · 25/12/2018 08:23

Merry Christmas everyone Xmas Grin

Sorry to those that are spending it in hospital.

I've had period pains on and off all evening and morning and a bit of a dicky tummy. Also been feeling a bit like I could have a cry this morning! I blame watching Call the Midwife. Been up since 6am.

She can stay put now until I've had my Christmas dinner Grin
