Live birth feed tomorrow

I'm 38+5 and being induced tomorrow!! I know people on here appreciate a live birth feed. I suffer from severe SPD and polyhydremones and I'm currently measuring at 47 weeks. I seen consultant yesterday who thought best to give me a sweep to try help move things along before tomorrow and I've had a bit of bleeding today. Baby has an estimated weight of 10lbs alreadyShock!! I'm terrified, nervous and excited!

Anyone else suffered from these things and been induced a little early and have any advice?

This is my second baby but first was 6 years ago so feel so new to this!! Dd was 9lbs 8oz so generally breed big babies!

Encouraging posts are welcome lol!!

With both of mine the pessary took about 12 hours to kick in....which seemed like a long time but then from serious intense contractions both were then born in less than an hour. Hope this gives you some hope that things will get moving. It helps that your body has done it before .

Leigh92 · 16/12/2018 00:33

That does give me a little hope, on the monitor midwife said I'm contracting quite regularly but for some reason I can't feel them (I won't be saying that later on). I have my kindle, he has his iPad, and phones it's just a drag and realistically could have done this part at home!

Well I managed to get a wee drop sleep after taking some paracetamol and I've woken up and they've stopped, is there anything more frustrating:(

Leigh92 · 16/12/2018 09:25

Midwife said that although they have stopped that doesn't mean that nothings happening, won't get examined until the pessary has been in for 24 hours so need to wait until 3pm to find out if it's been ding it's job unless something happens before then..

Thank you all for your well wishes, squishy photo will definitely be uploaded!

Ooh how exciting! Terribly frustrating that it's all stopped. Is the pessary still in? It might've slipped out.

Leigh92 · 16/12/2018 10:02

She said it to be disheartened, although they've stopped it doesn't mean that nothing happening apparently. She will take it out around 2:30pm today in the hope that it's done what it's needed to do to my cervix and then she'll hopefully be able to break my waters. Fingers crossed!

Induction can be a slow old process, even if you've given birth naturally before. Don't lose hope if things aren't going as fast as you'd hoped, you'll get there eventually one way or another and have that baby in your arms soon x

Mrscog · 16/12/2018 10:29

Good luck op! Are you able to be mobile? Do some walks around the hospital or something. Not long now - a newborn for Christmas, how totally lovely.

Stilllivinginazoo · 16/12/2018 11:15

Focussing on holding your lovely newborn makes it worth it!(shall look forward to the photo)
I had my D's on 18 th Dec 13 years ago following a 24 hour induction.was a crazy Xmas,but a very very special one!!

KatnissMellark · 16/12/2018 11:25

My pessary did nothing for approx 20 hours, then I went on a bit of a hike round the hospital, up and down the stairs 10 times and hey presto, baby four hours later!

Bunnybaubles · 16/12/2018 14:06

I got induced at 35+6 in June cause of pre-eclampsia. Pessary went in at 11am and I was having regular contractions by 4pm, then a minute apart by evening.

I noticed every time I lay down on the bed my contractions slowed right down so despite full blown contractions every minute I walked about, in circles, all night lol.
After examination at 6am was told I was only 2cm's dialated.
An hour later my waters broke and I was taken through to the Labour ward where I got every drug and epidural on offer and slept till 5.30pm. DD was born at 6.20pm ☺
I hope things are moving along for you now, so exciting 😊 x

Leigh92 · 16/12/2018 16:26

Pessary was unsuccessful:( they've given me another hormone to try and bring on contractions. The problem is that because of all the extra fluid I have he's got too much room to swim around and his head won't engage so they need contractions to help bring his head down before they'll break my waters so hopefully I start getting strong contractions soonEnvy
Thank you all for your kind wordsThanks

Leigh92 · 16/12/2018 18:47
