Quorn mince

Hello, I am 10 weeks pregnant and a worrier. I made a quorn chilli on Saturday (it is now Wednesday) and I reheated my chilli for lunch but halfway through it made me sick, then I finished it. I haven't had morning sickness or anything for weeks so this made ne worry.
I was only sick twice and haven't been since and eaten other things but I just got worried. Could I have just eaten it too quickly maybe or can it harm my baby?

Hi there OP,

We hope you don't mind - we're going to move this over to pregnancy where we think you'll get more support.

Hope you're feeling better Flowers

You'll be fine. As will baby. It was likely morning sickness/ food aversion nothing more.

Thank you :-) I think I've been over googling Blush

There’s nothing in your post that I can see that would harm your baby - I’m not even exactly sure what you’re worried about?

Quorn mince is fine. If it hadn’t been reheated properly it might be a food poisoning risk but you would know about that by now! Throwing up randomly at this point in pregnancy is totally normal and your baby will be fine!!!

I just over googled and I was reading too much into food poisoning etc which I was worried about. I did start to worry about listeria but I believe you can only get that from dairy and meat products. No sickness since so I feel calmer :-)

I do not think you should worry about your pregnancy but you might have an intolerance to Quorn.

A huge proportion of people do, in comparison to other food stuffs that is, where intolerance tends to be rare. I used to live in Australia and Quorn was a banned substance until a few years ago.

I am Quorn intolerant, tried it two times in my life, twenty years apart and was violently ill on both occasions.

Have a google about Quorn intolerance and you will soon understand. I generally have a stomach of iron, I eat the majority of things, I am not remotely a picky eater, but Quorn is poison to me ( I know it isn't to everyone).

I don't know if I have explained myself properly, so to add, most people are not intolerant to quorn, but the proportion of people that are intolerant to Quorn is much higher than the proportion of people that are intolerant to various other food stuffs.

Quorn is pretty safe to reheat - I do it all the time. At 10 weeks it's more likely that your pregnancy symptoms are kicking in !

Agree with previous posters, I'm also allergic to Quorn and it makes me violently sick quite quickly after eating it. It's unlikely to be anything more serious.
