Anyone got a "feeling" about their baby's sex?

I've been thinking about this and would like a long running thread about people's feelings and guesses and what sex their baby turns out to be.
With DC1 DH was adamant it was a boy, I did have a preference to a girl but particular feeling about what we were going to have . . . We had a boy (I love him more than life and I am do glad he is who he is).
I am now 15 weeks pregnant with DC2, private gender scan booked for the 17th of this month, I now have a feeling it's a girl, and DH doesn't have a thought either way. DH thinks my feeling might be wishful thinking, but I have less of a preference this time and don't really mind what happens as long as baby is healthy.
Anybody else have a "feeling" that was right? Or even wrong?
And if you have a feeling now, but haven't found out yet, still let me know and we can update as and when we find out.

@mshopey oh that's annoying! Do you get on well with her otherwise?

I've been having a slightly scratchy time with my mum as she was acting like I was a terrible daughter for not setting a date for our wedding (even though only engaged for 3 months and only not setting a date because we were TTC instead!) and saying loads of upsetting things about how we'd done our engagement all wrong (felt kept at arms length from the start because I hadn't told them we were in a relationship until we had been going out 3 weeks, felt disrespected that he hadn't asked permission (vom), upset that we'd told his parents in person the night before we told them in person ('we just thought 'but your OUR daughter!!!') We've just about got over all that now that it's come out that I'm preggo, but this really just makes me want to poke her in the eye!

*you're, not your, ugh

I wasn't sure with my first but was 100% convinced my second was a girl. I went for a scan to find out because I was so convinced it was a girl I hadn't thought about boys names at all and thought I'd better find out in case it was a boy. It wasn't, it was a girl.

sirmione16 · 06/11/2018 15:44

I had a feeling mine was a boy since the moment I knew I was pregnant. Spookily turned out to be right. Now, I know it's 50/50 and bla bla bla. But honestly I would've been shocked if it were a girl. I was so sure. Weird.

Dandybelle · 07/11/2018 14:19

I'm pretty sure I'm having a boy this time but keep dreaming it's a girl so I'm really confused! Baby due on 25th so we shall see!

babystripes · 07/11/2018 21:12

I'm 22 weeks I was convinced I was having a boy already have a 9 year old son! Booked a private gender scan at 18 weeks and found out I was having a little girl! Confirmed at my 20 week scan also!

Angelmiracle · 07/11/2018 21:37

I immediately was convinced DC1 was a boy and everyone else also thought I was 'carrying' a boy. He was.

I'm 19+5 & don't have a clue this time. Inkling maybe girl although DS is certain he's getting a baby brother 😁

Lubilu28 · 07/11/2018 21:40

I had a feeling very early on with my 1st that he was a boy, but because I always wanted a boy I felt that I was being swayed but I was right!! This time I’m also having the same feelings of a boy but I’m still very very early in to my pregnancy that maybe I’m just over thinking it! I’m also not fussed what this baby is as long as he/she grows healthy I’m happy 😊 xx

DramaAlpaca · 07/11/2018 21:46

I was absolutely certain in my head what sex all three of mine were.

I was wrong every time Grin

RosiePosies · 07/11/2018 22:31

I was so convinced I was having a boy and wouldn't be told otherwise. Family all said girl. It's a girl!

bumblebee39 · 14/11/2018 19:49

Pretty sure it's going to be a girl.

I've already got one of each and much more like my girl pregnancy.

MsHopey · 15/11/2018 11:02

2 days till we find out the sex.
Still have a "feeling" it's a girl.
😬
Only time will tell. Scan at 12:45!
Hoping baby is helpful and just opens it's legs for the camera (and hopefully that is the only time in its existence it ever does 😂).

I'm 17 weeks and convinced I'm having a girl! Find out on the 23rd of this month, so we'll see!

Well ladies I had an earlier private scan and it was confirmed we are indeed having a girl!
All the old wives tales pointed to it, and my mum has said from day one it was a girl. Grin

TheSubtleKnifeAndFork · 15/11/2018 12:09

Good thread!

Not so much last pregnancy, I didn't really have a clue. Towards the very end I started thinking maybe it was a girl (I ticked a lot of the old wives tales for a girl), but then I had a boy!

This pregnancy however I 100% think boy. No idea why, but I am pretty convinced.

I really don't mind what we have either way, so it doesn't matter at all. But I can't bloody wait to find out if I'm right!!!!

OutPinked · 15/11/2018 14:29

I was only wrong one time, the time I chose not to find out the sex Grin. I was convinced she was a boy and shocked when she was born, we only had a solid boys name planned!

I was right with my other three DC though. I knew DC4 was a boy as soon as I started with the all day sickness, I only had symptoms with my DS.

MsHopey · 15/11/2018 17:53

I've been looking at girls clothes today, probably a bad idea.
I do love a bit of retail therapy and we kept literally everything from DS (he's only 15mo) so if it's a boy I won't get to buy very much. Good for our bank balance but not good for the excited Moma in me who wants to get some new stuff.
We'll get a few new bits if we're having a boy but obviously no where near as much as it would just be silly.

It's a boy!
I clearly have no clue what I'm talking about 😂

Congrats! Little brother for your LB ❤️

I knew mine was a girl. I'd remind OH it could be either when he used 'she', and privately think to little bump 'he is right though, you are a she.'

Tried imagining a little boy, to prevent any more shock if it was. I knew in my heart though she was a girl, and everyone in the office bet girl without exception. She just gave off massive girl vibes I guess?

And later when mentioning I'm a mother to people I've met, they do ask and then say 'ah, I'm glad it's a girl/ I thought it was a girl.' no idea how as she's not a girly girl... Maybe I'm a girly mum?? No idea. Either way there was no chance she was going to be a boy!

Lookingforadvice123 · 17/11/2018 15:52

With DS (2.10) I KNEW he was a boy from the minute I pee'd on the stick. Weird as pre TTC I always thought I'd have girls. Wasn't at al surprised at the scan when they confirmed he was. He even looks exactly as I pictured, always has done.

With baby number 2 (due in February) I didn't have such strong feelings and dithered between the two. I was much sicker so did wonder if it was a girl, but the closer we got to our scan, the more I told myself it's a boy as since DS I've pictured two boys. And I was right!

Congratulations on your two boys Smile

Rixera · 17/11/2018 19:34

@looking I also knew what DD would look like! OH didn't believe me so I sketched her, he scoffed because neither of us have curly hair but I just knew what she would look like. Hey presto, curly mop. And her cousin has curls now too, despite having straight haired parents. FIL has curls though so they're in the family.

He still says I only imagined correctly because she looks like a clone of me in childhood and the curls were a lucky guess. I know, though, I always knew what she would be like.
