Anyone got a "feeling" about their baby's sex?

I've been thinking about this and would like a long running thread about people's feelings and guesses and what sex their baby turns out to be.
With DC1 DH was adamant it was a boy, I did have a preference to a girl but particular feeling about what we were going to have . . . We had a boy (I love him more than life and I am do glad he is who he is).
I am now 15 weeks pregnant with DC2, private gender scan booked for the 17th of this month, I now have a feeling it's a girl, and DH doesn't have a thought either way. DH thinks my feeling might be wishful thinking, but I have less of a preference this time and don't really mind what happens as long as baby is healthy.
Anybody else have a "feeling" that was right? Or even wrong?
And if you have a feeling now, but haven't found out yet, still let me know and we can update as and when we find out.

I do enjoy reading through these sort of threads.

I had a vivid dream about DS when about 7 weeks pregnant with him, was spot on about what he looked like as well as his sex!

I haven't had that vivid dream with the baby yet but I do have a feeling I am expecting a girl as pregnancy feels different this time round!

WitchyMcWitchface · 06/11/2018 09:17

@Soydora why, maybe the boy will carry on the family name, maybe DH wants a boy to play football with , maybe a son to pass the family business to , sexist views but I think they still hold in some parts of society. I guess I am looking back to when I had mine 30 years ago.

SoyDora · 06/11/2018 09:18

I never had any preference as to the sex of either of my three, DH didn’t either.

TruffleShuffles · 06/11/2018 09:22

I always had a preference for a boy for some reason but the second I found out I was pregnant I just knew she was a girl. It didn’t bother me in the slightest, I suppose it’s only 50/50 though so good chance you’ll guess right 🤷🏼‍♀️

Jitters22 · 06/11/2018 09:24

I absolutely 'knew' with both of mine and was right both times. Yeah it's only a 50/50 guess and you've got a one in two chance of getting it right, but I can honestly say it wasn't a guess - it was a stone cold certainty.

momoa80 · 06/11/2018 09:29

Yes I knew and was right. Strong feelings with both my dc and both as I thought. This time (11wks) I feel strongly it is a girl, hard to explain but it's like I can't imagine this baby being a boy plus I've been so sick like I was with my dd, and craving sweet sugary stuff.

needsanewname · 06/11/2018 09:29

Completely sure it was a boy and had names picked out but she was a girl.. and the most perfect one at that.

problembottom · 06/11/2018 09:32

I’m 33 weeks and was convinced it was a girl for ages but now I feel like it’s a boy. Most of our fam and friends think girl.

HalfBloodPrincess · 06/11/2018 09:36

I’ve been right with all 3 of mine. I just knew.
Currently pregnant with #4 and have a strong girl feeling. Not too long to wait and see if I’m 4 out of 4.

ShowOfHands · 06/11/2018 09:40

Some studies have suggested that mothers' intuition is the only way to have an idea of the sex beyond the success rate of pure chance. No old wives tales work but women are fairly good at predicting their own baby's sex.

I knew DD was a DD. I never ever dreamed of the baby as male or called the bump he. It was categorically a girl. And I had a mild preference for a boy in reality. With ds, I had no idea. I probably would have guessed boy but not with any certainty.

FairfaxAikman · 06/11/2018 09:53

I was so adamant that DC 1 was a boy that when the sonographer told us at 20 weeks we were having a girl I told DH that we weren't telling anyone as she was wrong.

Luckily I got extra scans due to medical history. She was wrong - the next three proved he was a boy.

silvertongue · 06/11/2018 09:53

I'm 20 weeks and I'm not sure, and I'm not going to find out. I could only think of it as a girl for most of the pregnancy so far and called it she, but in the last week or two I've been having dreams where its always a boy and I've subconsciously shifted to calling it he. I guess either way I'm right!

Livinglavidal0ca · 06/11/2018 09:56

I knew it was a girl, was bloody adament. It was a boy.

Chocolateheaven123 · 06/11/2018 10:10

I had a slight inkling that my first was a boy. Not a stone cold certainty, just a kind of feeling. And I remember being more drawn to boys clothes etc. We didn't find out and I was right. I remember when the midwife said 'its a boy', I just thought 'yeah I know'

I'm 12 weeks pregnant again and am convinced this one is a girl, been more sure from the start. And it's definitely nothing to do with preference as I genuinely don't care either way. It would actually be easier to have another boy so we can reuse my son's clothes Grin. I also feel a lot sicker and worse this time around so perhaps it could be a girl. We're not finding out the sex this time either so I guess we'll know in 6 months if I was right or wrong!

MagicalCreatures · 06/11/2018 10:32

I knew 100% that my baby was a boy from the moment I saw 2 lines on the stick.
I had a dream the night before that I’d juts given birth to a baby boy and then at 7 weeks I had another dream that he was a bit older and totally gorgeous.
I just couldn’t visualise him being a girl at all. I’m 32 weeks now and it’s been confirmed 3 times he’s a boy.

SimpleSimonstherapist · 06/11/2018 10:35

I was 100% wrong, both times Grin

Baby160P · 06/11/2018 10:35

I was adamant I was having a boy and I am!

To the point I said if they said girl I'd ask them to check again!!

TheMagicTorch · 06/11/2018 10:37

I'm 17 weeks and convinced I'm having a girl! Find out on the 23rd of this month, so we'll see!

Nutkins24 · 06/11/2018 10:39

1st I knew she was a girl and she was. 2nd time I was convinced it was another girl beacause I had identical symptoms but he turned out to be a boy!

EggsRoyale · 06/11/2018 10:39

I was 100% sure both mine were boys .. both were girlsHmm

MonkeyToucher · 06/11/2018 11:25

First time I absolutely KNEW it was a boy! We didn’t find out until he was born and I was right! This time I didn’t have such strong gut feelings, more like an inkling it was a girl and we found out at 20 week scan that it is! The old wives tales were right both times too!

MissDai5y · 06/11/2018 11:31

OH had a preference for a girl, I had a preference for a boy, obviously not truly bothered either way.

Despite my preference I kept referring to her/she etc without realising it and that's how it turned out. Our little girl.

auberbene · 06/11/2018 12:12

I would have bet my house that I was having a boy. Lucky I didn't now haha 😀

Noodella18 · 06/11/2018 14:07

When TTC I wanted a boy and thought I would have a boy. Now that I'm pregnant I've had a few dreams that it's a girl and have referred to the baby as her a few times. My sister and two close friends have all said they think I'll have a boy, my mum has said I AM having a boy and only ever refers to the baby as he (ARRRRRRRRRGH SO ANNOYING) so I hope it's girl to prove them all wrong!!! And because the thought of my partner holding a little girl makes my heart melt. I'd really love a little girl now! (Obviously I just want a healthy baby, but you know what I mean...)

MsHopey · 06/11/2018 14:45

My MIL was like this with my first and I am super stubborn. I wanted to prove her wrong, so silly! She was right 😂
